Well, the best laid plans of mice and men. It's Thursday night date night, and I'm feeling a bit edgy. I want to do something new, so I make reservations at Cloud Puncher, the restaurant in the New Lively hotel at the Oak. We are seated, and the server states, "we can't serve any alcohol, we don't have our liquor license." I politely told him that's a deal breaker. It was a pleasant exchange, and we left for Juniors, an old stable of ours that's nearby.We arrived at Juniors and started with a dirty martini and a G&T. The dirty martini was excellent. We then ordered a shrimp coctail that was very good.Jan ordered the fillet with baked potato. I ordered the Sea Bass with rice pilaf. Both were very good. The rice pilaf was a bit dry but tasty. I also ordered fried zucchini, which was also very good. Juniors is a throwback to a different era (think Dean Martin and Frank Snintra), but it's a solid restaurant with a rich tradition that serves good food in a pleasant environment.

This was our 3rd visit. It was good as usual. Great service & great food. It's nice & quiet so you can carry on a conversation. Great Caesar salad that you can have anchovies added. Highly recommend the brandy ice for dessert. Wish I would have taken pictures of them.

It's been some time since I've eaten here. However, the last time I ate there the food was great. Good steaks and sides, good fresh salads. I believe you would enjoy this older restaurant. If they still have it on the walls just smile at the wall paper. I think in its day it was the bomb.Good food and service is why you came.

Really disappointed. You won't know where to park when you arrive. If you take the elevator, you may have to walk the long way back to your car, because the elevator is turned off at a certain time. I thought it would be on the top floor. No. It's in the basement. When you enter, you'll immediately smell cigarette smoke. There's a bar area, and the restaurant. The place is dark and old. No ambiance. No music. Prices are very high. Food was ok. Service was ok, but waiters had tattoos and piercings. They are supposed to wear black, but one bus boy was wearing white shoes. Very disappointed in the band. I was expecting a jazz combo in the restaurant. There was one guy with a guitar and a drum machine in the bar, playing rock and country. The worst part was the cigarette smoke. I will never go back! This place is a dive. Way overpriced.

If I could give a 0, I would. We were here for a private dinner party..... horrible service, non existent.Food was nearly cold. Charred but rare steaks.Under and over cooked shrimp. Tasteless. Oh and top top it off, there was butter and..... crackers? I honestly thought there would be bread during the wait. We waited nearly 2.5hrs for the food, 45m for drink refills....

We made a reservation for a party of 14. It was my father's 80th birthday and I was looking for a place that would be less busy and quieter than the normal restaurant. First off, the service was horrible and with a party of 14 there was a 20% gratuity added so there was I guess no need to make sure we were taken care of at all. The bar service was great, but our actual waitress was MIA most of the time. Our food was not good. The 8 people in our party who ordered baked potatoes received baked potatoes that were cold and hard. Our waitress didn't bring butter or any fixings for the potatoes for a good five minutes after our food arrived. Making already cold potatoes not even melt butter. I had the filet which was good, but my husband, brother and nephew hat the ribeye that had so much fat and gristle you couldn't even cut it with the dull knife that they provided. My meal should have come with a vegetable and all I had on my plate was a steak and cold mashed potatoes. Our food didn't arrive at the same time. I was half done with my meal before half if the party even had their food. My mother and uncle had iced tea that wasn't refilled one time. Our water was only filled once when I asked the bus boy to fill it for us because the waitress was never around. We never received bread through the entire meal. I asked the bus boy if we had to order it or if it was just automatic. He told me that it was included, but we were never offered any. I had to ask the bus boy about the bread because I never saw the actual waitress to request anything. It was just one of the worst meals I have ever had. And to top that off it was just over $1000 with the 20% tip and bar bill. Just totally unacceptable for a $100 meal much less a $1000 meal. I did not complain at the restaurant because it was my father's birthday, and I didn't want to cause a scene. But I will never be back, and I will make sure anyone I know who considers going there knows they should find another place.

What an absolutely HORRIBLE experience. We were excited to have made reservations for June 15th, 2024. We have always heard great reviews about their food and the fact that this location is full of history was appealing to us. We made reservations for 7 PM which they could not keep, we waited for 45 minutes before being seated and then could not get waited on. We waited for another 40 minutes before being served water, then another 30 before our dinner order was taken. The steaks were just ok, the salad was not edible, and who ever thought that rubbery jumbo shrimp smothered in stringy cheese was a good idea?! Gross! As we looked around, it seemed that the folks who were repeat customers and familiar to the wait staff got served. The rest of us were basically ignored. Won't be going back.....ever.
