Very large park that includes the Creek Turnpike Trail that loops through the park and then continues along the side of the highway. At the center, a nice sized pond and an open area for play. As parks go, I enjoyed my walk this afternoon here despite the wind and rain.Keep to the side of the trail and try to keep your eye out for bicycles as there is definite debate as to who has the right of way (Hint: it's the pedestrians but when your handlebar hits someone and you dump into the road, it's too late.)Playgrounds, picnic tables under a huge picnic pavilion, a basketball court and a disk golf course round out the other goings on here. Oh, and a dog park.[Review 16279 overall - 111 in Oklahoma - 1785 of 2021.]

Not kid friendly. My son turned 12 and this is his first year he gets to go with me and the dogs to the park. Officer "Karen" came up to me and my son and told us that we could not be there and that we had to leave. I asked her why, and she said that my son had to be 12 years old. I told her that he was 12. Then she probed me and asked me what was his birthday. I gave her his birthdate but I hesitated on the date and year for a split second because he had just had his birthday. I even forget mine! She said, "you hesitated, so I don't believe you. And plus I have never seen you out here and I'm out here all the time." I told her that she hasn't seen him because he just turned 12!! But I have seen you! She still made us leave or threatened to fine me $500 if we didn't. Since I didn't have his birth certificate in my back pocket, as we were leaving...my medium sized dog had to come through the center gate where we were talking so we could leave with our smaller dogs and she said "don't let the other dog get out..." And I said are you going to tell me that this isn't my dog? Or do I need to prove that too?I said I will go and get his birth certificate will you be here when I get back? She said yes. When I came back with his birth certificate after driving 30 minutes home in 30 minutes back she was not there!! I understand that she is only trying to protect the park or even a child from being bitten, but it is a one thing to see an eight-year-old or a smaller child, but my son is almost as tall as I am 5'5". There is no reason she should have made us leave, let alone not be there after I made a copy of his birth certificate to come back and show her! I am frustrated that I was treated the way I was and this is one of my favorite parks to go to, and it is not my problem if she can't remember every single face she sees. When we came back I saw a six-year-old in the park and an 8-year-old in the park and no officer policing those people. My son asked me, how come we had to leave when those kids are younger and are allowed in the park? I had to tell him a little truth about life: it isn't about what other people do that is right or wrong, the only thing that matters is how you act and if you do the right or wrong thing. I do think it is ridiculous that she treated us like that because I didn't have his birth certificate on my person. Heads up parents! If your child just turned 12 or looks young, or is short... make sure you have their birth certificate in your back pocket so you don't have to waste a whole afternoon trying to please a Karen.

This is a great place to bring the kids and the dogs. There is so much free space to start a pick-up soccer game. The frisbee golf course all over the park is super fun. You kind of get a tour of the park while playing! The playground area provides something for kids of all ages. The dog park is amazing. Separating the dogs by size helps out with safety of the smaller dogs. There are trash cans provided to clean up after your dogs relieve themselves, and a water station to cool off after a brisk game of fetch.

Great place to take your dogs. Been coming here for quite some time. Sadly, I wish the rules were enforced more at the dog park. People bring food and treats in like it's a picnic area. I saw a woman in the park with a baby stroller, which rules state absolutely no children in the dog park. And half the dogs brought in are NOT neutered or spayed. When you try to politely tell people, they act like you're in the wrong for saying something. Please don't bring your dogs if they aren't neutered, it can make some dog breeds more aggressive that are normally not that way.Overall a great park but just make sure you read the rules

My kids grew up playing at Hunter Park and we loved it! That being said, I have taken my grandkids and it is so disappointing! Playground equipment is largely not kid friendly. Slide doesn't have normal steps and littles can't climb up. The equipment is just "weird" playground equipment! Swings are good... Non working restrooms.Dog parks are huge and covered with shade sails....no shade sails for the children playing on the hot playground equipment! We do love hiking in the woods.

Hunter Park is a really good park for many reasons, i recently rented the shelter for my daughter's birthday party, there were some groups in the shelter when we arrived, it was an uncomfortable moment because i had to explained to every group that i rented so they had to leave, in fact, there were a family refused to leave the shelter and I even had to show them the facility rental receipt (i paid more than 100 dollars by the way) i think those days when the shelter is rented there should be a security or park guard to avoid any anit, besides that the Restrooms without toilet paper and are in really bad conditions.
