Middle of the "fairway"?

As much as I might want to, I cannot recommend this typical small country town golf course to anyone other than the historical design enthusiast. In 1932, legendary designer Perry Maxwell redesigned the former sand green 9 hole course (now the back 9). You can definitely see his touch in the heavily undulated greens. Sadly, a municipality of this size lacks the resources to properly maintain an otherwise respectable (6700 yds blue/6300 white) layout. Very poor turf conditions from tee up to green. The greens themselves are well maintained and while not particularly fast rolled pretty true.

Staff is very friendly. Course is super fun to play, unfortunately, it is not always available. They will host tournaments without posting them anywhere online, and if you do sign up for a tournament, make sure you call the day before to ensure it is still happening. They will cancel those without warning as well. This makes it very frustrating trying to play on the weekends. Ratings would instantly go up if they communicated better on their Facebook page or with a website. Also, be prepared for really hard fairways.
