I wanted to like this place so much! Highly recommended and on the Route 66 must try list! Not for us. After what was told to be a 15 minute wait, we waited 45 minutes. Once we were sat, everything seemed rushed.Appetizer and bread was fine. Our kids tried shrimp and mac and cheese and gator and mashed potatoes, both of which tried a bite of each and said no thank you. My husband had gumbo and I had red beans and rice. It was just salt. We tasted nothing but salt, not the veggies, the meats, the other flavors, JUST SALT. The price point wasn't bad, the waitress was good. We were excited and profoundly let down.

Ok so rough dinner? The cheddar biscuit was pretty good a bit too dense in my opinion but it was really good. If it was a bit more light and fluffy it would have been a jumbo cheddar biscuit from lobster contender. From a decade ago, not today's.. I nabbed the fried shrimp and it wasn't too shabby but it wasn't melt in my mouth like I was hoping for and it would have been nice if it had a little crunch but it was a thing batter. The coleslaw is pretty standard but the reason why it retained a 4 star was the gumbo. Now that was some good gumbo. Little light on the rice but I'm so good with that. Service was great and he came by often and talked about all the specials with good detail. We got in at the right time and didn't have to wait.

We came for dinner on a Saturday night and there was a wait. The wait wasn't long at all. The service was great! The food was good! Loved the bread that they bring out to you before you get your food.

This is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in this whole area. The staff is amazing, the food is out of this world and the service is beyond great. I had the Crab Stack. It has Fried Green tomatoes with Etouffee over that, a wonderful Crab Cake over the Etouffee and topped of with a Blue Crab and Shrimp. Combine that with a salad and buttery cheesy biscuit and you are good to go.

Four for now but leaving room for a five on my next visit. And, there will be a next visit.Went for an early lunch (11 AM) and we were the first ones there. By the time we left around 12:15, it was packed. The savory biscuit (which is as big as the plate) is delicious. It's a cross between a cheddar biscuit (like from Red Lobster only better) and a roll. Loved.I tried the shrimp po' boy. You can get your choice of sauce--campfire or WOW. I went with the latter which was a bit thinner and tangier. Good combo. Fries on the side were great and come with their own campfire sauce. My friend ordered the shrimps and grits (which were huge). I would probably order that next time.Great addition to Claremore!

Had lunch yesterday and with so many choices I went back to the Bayou Grits and never regretted it. Every bite is an experience. The staff was excellent and my wife was thrilled with her chicken sandwich.

Good food, great service. The boudin balls were DELICIOUS. They were lightly breaded and extremely flavorful. Honestly I would go back for those alone but the red beans and rice were my star of the show. So much flavor in a small (but filling) package. The fried catfish was well prepared and a huge portion for the price but not my favorite; if you're expecting a traditional cornmeal crusted fried catfish, this one might not be for you. Be prepared to wait a bit if you go on weekends or in the evening but the food is well worth the wait.

First time coming and came for my birthday. The food is absolutely amazing and to die for. The food reminds me of when I was younger living in la. I love the decor aLot. It reminds me of Mardi gras. The service was spot on and super fast. Everything was absolutely amazing.

We arrived on a Friday night around 6 pm. We were told the wait would be around 45-50 minutes, I got the call that our table was ready after about 30. The hostess was very kind, and our server, Adison, was also fantastic. The restaurant itself is cute.The cheddar biscuits are huge! They had good flavor and we enjoyed the garlic butter on them. They are on the doughier side, but I like them that way. I ordered the voodoo chicken, the breading was crispy, the chicken and shrimp were perfectly cooked, and everything was well seasoned and flavorful. My side of Mac and cheese was a little dry but had good flavor. My husband got the grits with catfish, andouille, and shrimp. All of the proteins were well cooked and had great flavor. The catfish was delicious. He said the grits had less flavor than expected, but overall enjoyed it.

WOW! What a Find! Gibby's South sets rt in the heart of Claremore. Great looking Building inside and out. We got there at 11:11 on a Saturday morning and there was a line already starting!We got seated rt away, the Dining Room is Beautifully decorated. Our Waitress was Amanda, and she was Awesome. She helped us with the menu, brought out a couple samples to help us to decide what we wanted to order. Amanda immediately brought out these huge, beautiful Garlic Biscuits and they were delicious. We ordered the Cajun Spinach Dip for an appetizer. It comes w fresh and light tortilla chips. We then orders the Blackened Catfish w a voodoo sauce, cheesy Grits and a cup of Gumbo. All were great!Then to celebrate Valentines, we ordered the Carrot Cake. Everything we had was fresh and delicious! You won't be disappointed coming to Gibby's South! We will definitely be back!
