We had one server for the ten of us. It took her some time to figure out how we are splitting the check. There were a few of us who wanted hot water and she took a pot out. The pot could only fill up three cups and there were four cups. My ice water was not promptly refilled either.I would expect better service when an entree cost $42. She was patient taking photos for us and keeping our cake in the fridge. I don't think they had anything for my friend's birthday either.

We loved French Hen at their 71st & Yale location so finally tried the one on Archer... wow! Just wow!I loved everything. The wine was phenomenal. I started with the Wedge salad and my husband ordered the escargot. Both were good. The wedge was absolutely amazing though. Next, I had the Osso Bucco and my husband had one of the specials which was some sort of white flaky fish. Both were delicious.Service was fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He kept our water glasses full and was attentive.Ambience is somehow energetic and relaxed all at once. I personally loved their lighting. They have bare bulbs hanging over tables. Big windows for natural lightening.

Ordered the fois gras. It had great flavor, the berries were cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. A little too sweet for my taste but it was a great dessert-for-dinner. The Chocolate crème brûlée was also too sweet with way too thick of a sugar layer on top but good texture.

Outstanding food, beautiful decor. Classic French cuisine with old school dishes like escargot, foie gras, and sweetbreads. My husband found the onion soup light and delicious and enjoyed the duck with two sauces. I had the oysters with Pernod cream. The sauce was so good I asked for a spoon and ate it like soup. The roasted salmon was excellent. There's a good selection of wine by the glass, a deep wine list, and creative cocktails. Service was glitchy to begin with but owner soon took us in hand. Highly recommended.

We went on a Saturday night and had great service. We ordered the scallop, shrimp, and crab cheesecake as an hors d'oeuvres. It's a warm savory cheesecake, and was very good. We had the Seared Diver scallops for our entree and it did not disappoint! Crème Brûlée for dessert was also delectable. Altogether a 10/10 experience!

Consistently on-point every single time we have eaten here. Service is impeccable, cocktails are fantastic, and the amuse-bouche is always a nice way to start the evening. I highly recommend the crab/scallop/shrimp cheesecake, the mushroom tart, and the duck. But, regardless of what you order, everything will be scrumptious.

We dropped in on a Saturday evening without a reservation. They were able to still get us a table after having drinks at the bar. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. Nice atmosphere and good service. Food was delicious. We would definitely go back. We'll make a reservation next time since they were working us in, we were seated by the front door, which was cold. But we were just happy to have a seat. Great experience.

My husband and I returned from our first visit from California a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Fortunately, I made reservations 2 months prior and we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. We knew The French Hen was the perfect place to kick off our vacation and we were right! Since we took Uber, we started with a cocktail before dinner, wine with dinner and a cocktail with dessert (because decaf coffee wasn't available). The French onion soup with melted Brie was sublime, and I had never ordered or eaten French onion soup prior to that. My husband had grilled rib eye and I had the grilled duck breast and had the orange cherry sauce and Sherry peppercorn sauce on the side and both were delicious. The peppercorn sauce was my favorite and not too peppery. Our meals were delicious with a nice presentation and decent portion sizes. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée with berries and the chocolate crème brûlée and both paired nicely with the suggested liqueurs (Frangelico and Baileys both on ice). The service was excellent, and the pace in which the food arrived was perfect, so we didn't feel rushed at all. Since I had a few drinks during dinner, I neglected to get our server's name, but he was fantastic!
