The Fort Smith, Arkansas Public Library system includes great buildings across the city that are welcoming, spacious, full of resources and creative materials/spaces as well as friendly, helpful and professional staff. We are grateful for the wonderful books and resource materials and activity offered to grow the imagination and learning of the citizens (those of age and those still coming of age)!

Beautiful main library branch in Ft Smith. It is 2 stories with a big lobby, a used bookstore, cafe, and, of course, multiple rooms for books. We mainly spend time in the teen and kids area on the first floor. There is a lot of space there to relax and play, including study rooms, couches, tables with board games and puzzles, and kids' play areas. They have a lot of great activities for both kids/teens and adults. Check them out!

The Fort Smith Public Library on Rogers Ave. (the Main Library) is, I believe, one of the best things about Fort Smith. Not only is it conveniently located on Rogers Ave (across from Creekmore park and close to Sweet Bay!) but it is a great, modern library with a supportive staff and an abundance of resources. Their second floor has computers, fiction and nonfiction, as well as a genealogy department while the bottom floors have the check out desk, children's/young adult section. They also have an extensive audiobook/video section as well as public meeting rooms available. The staff are incredibly helpful and are always willing to help you locate a book. If one of the books is available only at a branch library, they can transfer it to the main branch within a matter of days. In all my trips to this library, I have never had an unpleasant experience. The facilities are always clean, books are where they are supposed to be, and the people always friendly. I definitely love this library!
