I really enjoy this restaurant. My go to Chinese restaurant in Fayetteville. Everything I've ordered has been amazing and fresh. My favorite has been the sweet and sour, crispy shrimps, and sesame chicken. Excited to try more of this place.

We came in to try with very low expectations because there is not any other authentic Chinese restaurant in town (maybe Asian Cafe in Roger's), but that place isn't good.We tried Formosa's traditional menu, and it wasn't terrible - it's a temporary fix for authentic Chinese cuisine. Service was extremely slow but completely understandable since there was only 1 server handling online orders and dine in.The place is just like Any other typical Chinese restaurant, nothing stood out and watch your steps (high stairs).

This restaurant is still good but it used to be an outright exceptionally amazing and unique dining experience. Since COVID-19, they have cut staff and become a take-out only place, and I imagine still are. I dont think they have the same chef either than they did 10 years ago. They had a really nice looking interior with traditional looking Chinese furniture and wooden everything. It was never very busy and fairly quiet and had nice traditional music as well. But the food was the best of all in the area for a very long time, and it's still good but doesn't strike me as quite as glorious as what it was. They still have an extensive and diverse menu with traditional and Szechuan entrees, and they have a few other nice extras too! The Flaming Pu Pu Platter was always a lot of fun and pretty good https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pu_pu_platter (it looked very similar to this and came in the exact same grilled/pot and is basically a kind of yakinuku concept) I have never seen such a thing at any other chinese restaurant. The crispy Duck was my favorite as well but I remember not liking the Peking Duck as much the last time I tried it. I will go back to this soon and give it another chance, they really had the best duck anywhere... We also really liked the Shrimp with Lobster sauce, and a lot of other things that aren't on the menu any more.

Incredible Szechuan style cuisine. Ask for the traditional menu. We got Chongqing chicken (spicy fried chicken) and it was so good. Great service and nice seating for any sized party.

My partner and I love Formosa! We hadn't eaten at Formosa in probably ten years until recently again this year. I don't remember Formosa being this good ten years ago. Since we've ordered take-out from them a few times recently, we've gotten the shredded pork noodle soup, general tso's chicken, hot and sour soup, and beef lo mein. The shredded pork noodle soup was incredibly flavorful. I usually can only eat half of an order in one sitting, but I could not put the pork noodle soup down. General Tso's chicken tasted pretty predictable (per my partner). I love their hot and sour soup because it's actually spicy and it has thin slices of soft tofu and thinly sliced woodear mushrooms- both of which add a really nice texture to the soup. The beef in the beef lo mein was incredibly tender with a flavorful sauce. No extra soy sauce needed on anything. Will order here again soon!

Stopped for a quick lunch at Formosa Chinese Restaurant in Fayetteville. I think there might have been a different Chinese restaurant here before? I had a surprisingly positive experience! The place looks clean, smells clean and feels clean! And the dining area is really nice. The service was quick, responsive, and very courteous. And the food was delicious, freshly prepared, hot, and tasty! Menu looks like pretty standard Chinese fare. The portions are filling and they did not skimp on the ingredients(I had spicy garlic pork). The lunch menu was reasonably priced, most around $9, and you get plenty to eat. I love that the sweet & sour sauce and soy sauce are right on the table without having to ask for them. I would definitely eat here again and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for good Chinese food...at least for lunch.

The best Chinese this region has to offer, ESPECIALLY for vegetarians! My daughter loves the sesame chicken. The tofu family style is my long time favorite. The orders are always consistent in quality and service is fast.

Formosa's food never disappointed and quickly became comfort food for me and my fiancé. They did both traditional Taiwanese and more Americanized dishes.
