Ellen's Brown Bag Lunch

Dessert is amazing. Best cakes and pies youWill ever eat. Chocolates are amazing!!! Did not try sandwiches only desserts.

Opened on the 4th of July with delicious ice cream to rescue the hot day. Very friendly staff. Limited seating.

We just stopped in for some ice cream. Being from Texas we noticed the Blue Bell sign. This is a great little ice cream shop. They also have baked goods and fudge. The pictures of the "real" food look amazing. We need to come back. Super nice people.

We stopped in just for muffins and coffee as we needed something warm to drink and a small snack before dinner. We ordered mochas, and even though the sleeve on the cup had something sticky all over it (Why do baristas hand you coffee like that? Change the sleeve please!), the coffee itself was really very good. We were surprised, which is always nice.Chocolate muffins were pretty good. More cakey than expected, but they satisfied our munchies.We would definitely like to come back and have some lunch the next time we come through town.

Thought we would check out this little eatery while in Eureka for the day. The sweets looked amazing and with signs boasting a lunch brown bag and coffee it sounded very appealing.We were quickly greeted and learned that one of the day's specials located on the chalkboard was already sold out. The soup... this was a little disappointing because we were really craving something warm on the chilly day.We decided to elect for the chicken salad sandwich with potato salad as a second choice. I also decided to give the gourmet coffee a shot. We had a seat at one of the small tables inside near the window and within a few moments our food was delivered as described in a brown paper sack. But no coffee?I was starving so I went ahead and started opening my sack and trying my food thinking the coffee might take a bit to prepare, I mean I have been to dozens of coffee shops and had to wait for my barista to create my drink. After completing half of my sandwich still no coffee and there wasn't anyone behind the counter working on anything.I continued eating and really was enjoying the food then more people walked in, ordered and were served. Finally I asked about my coffee and the girl working said she had completely forgotten. She apologized and I mean people do make mistakes but it was pretty much the deal breaker from me having a great experience. If I returned I would stop in and give a second chance because the food was tasty, but I would be cautious in ordering anything drink wise that required additional work.

My mom and I stopped in here two separate times today. The first was because it was the first store in the row we were walking through. We each bought a piece of English toffee, and it was really good! When we walked in, it smelled absolutely incredible. They have lots of candies, cakes, pies, candied apples, and ice creams as well as sandwiches. The second time we came in, we had been searching for a place open on a Sunday for lunch. Ellen's also has lunch, conveniently! They have a few sandwich options, soup, and potato salad & coleslaw. I opted for the meatball sandwich and potato salad. My mom ordered the chicken salad with potato salad. My meatball sandwich was delicious! The texture of the meatballs was great, soft but not too soft, and it wasn't too saucy. I really enjoyed it. The potato salad was sour cream based, and it was also good. My mom's chicken salad sandwich was large and on a croissant. The chicken salad was also sour cream based and strangely sweet, but not bad necessarily. I would definitely get the meatball over the chicken salad though. I wanted to dry all the different candies they had. I have no doubt they are all amazing! The staff was also really great and helpful. I would definitely eat here again!

When in Eureka Springs, this is our family's required stop! We love the caramel apples, macaroons, cookies, ice cream..... in fact, we haven't had anything we haven't enjoyed at Ellen's. Great food!

Pastries are alright but were covered with flies last time I went in. Asked the guy behind the counter what something was because it didn't have a sign and he sarcastically told me it's a cinnamon roll instead of simply telling me. Felt very passive aggressive, the foods alright but the service is not.

Convenient to the Basin Park Hotel, popped in for a quick bite. Had a Turkey sandwich, chips and a chocolate chip cookie. Over $16. The cookie was good. The chips were the 1 oz bag, the size you pass out to trick or treaters. The sandwich was super tiny. I did not know they made bread slices this small. And the guy making the sandwich was intermittently stopping during the preparation and touching other stuff like mail, boxes, etc. just not a good experience.

Stopped for lunch the week before Christmas. Two other people having coffee to get out of the rain. Out of soup, roast beef, chicken salad. Settled for 2 pulled pork sandwiches to eat there. Twenty minutes later- arrives in bags. Had to ask for plates - paper. Pork dry, unseasoned and room temp. Buns straight out of the refrigerator. Baked beans cold. No pickle. BBQ sauce on side, presumably to give the pork some flavor. Packed it all up to give to dog (she wouldn't eat it). Paid $33 check when ordering ( you have to). 2 employees in front as we were leaving. No "thank you", "was everything all right?", or even the tired "have a good one". I hate leaving a negative review, so I sent the owner a message at the time. No response, so here we are....
