Just walking into the restaurant and the bakery smells amazing. Mix of Salvadoran and Mexican options and everything is delicious. There's also a market attached to the restaurant and bakery. I've had tacos and papusas here before, and today it's the carne asada and a papusa with an agua de jamaica. This isn't an Americanized place that has lost all the culture and flavor, go check it out if you're wanting something authentic.

My favorite little "hole in the wall". The first time I tried it (about a year ago), I thought to myself, "I'm with going to get food poisoning or have the best El Salvadorian food ever". It's fantastic! I love this place. Speaking Spanish helps, but is not needed. The servers understand enough English to get it right and there's always someone working on the store with good English. One note, the service can be very slow at times and the decor is shabby-not in the chic way!

It's inside a grocery store. Small and clean. The menu is Guatemalan food, so if your expecting the same old tex-mex food, get ready for a better eating experience. Not a nacho in sight!I had the rolled chicken tacos, my wife had their version of huevos rancheros. Both were delicious. The cooks are also the servers.Enjoy.

I have had authentic food and I can tell you that their fajitas are not authentic. The meat was tough too. The pastries at the front of the store were disappointing too, as they were not soft fluffy breads. It was nice to see a Spanish store though. It reminded me of a mini grocery store. I am sure you can't find every thing you need there, but they do have a good selection of items.

This place is a hidden gem in Carthage. It has a market with a small Central American/Mexican restaurant inside. They have tamarind juice! The employees are friendly and the pastries are also good. I will definitely be back!

This place is right by the police station.....in and OLD building with 15 feet ceilings. Nice, nice, nice staff....great little bakery. Efficient and tidy.Practice your Spanish here with the VERY shy staff.I love the little baked goods. The food is so worth it.

Read some reviews and decided to try this place because it has churros. Took me a while to find it and it was really how other reviewers said. It's a hole in a wall, the service started a little awkward because I'm not Hispanic. But after the first greetings by the cook/waitress, we became familiar. I had 5 Taco Asada, horchata and churros. Everything was great except for the horchata which was a little too much of cinnamon for my taste but it wasn't their fault. Definitely will come back and try other items on the menu again.

I was in the area for work and am so glad that there is such a wonderful, authentic Central American restaurant in town. I had a warming and spicy Mexican-style shrimp soup, a pupusa with excellent curtado, platanos and a horchata drink. Very friendly service and very affordable as well. The restaurant is inside of a grocery store and bakery focused on Central American staples. If I am ever back in the area for work, I know exactly where to eat.
