Ok.. I'll be honest I'm not a huge bbq fan. Most of the time I just find the brisket to be dry, the ribs fatty, the sides underwhelming. Not so here at Edge Craft bbq. I found the brisket to be very moist. I found the pork ribs tastyAnd, I thought the sausage was excellent. Others at the table loved the Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, and beans. The staff were very helpful and the facilities were clean. Would I come back ... absolutely!

Well, dang it! If I tell the truth, the line is only going to get longer.... sigh...Alright, can you imagine my dismay while in search for the best BBQ in Texas, my husband and I stumbled upon one in our very own town! Not only is the line nothing compared to most noteworthy places in Dallas and Austin, but the food is even better. We arrived at 10:35 am and were third in line. Expect a 30-45 min wait in line if you don't arrive before 11:00.We had the brisket, pastrami (Friday only), turkey, mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts, coleslaw, potato salad. We also had their daily specials of pastrami sandwich, brisket dirty rice and smoked duck confit. Yes, that's right...duck confit....Not something I comment about a BBQ joint, but presentation was beautiful. The Mac n cheese had a crumb topping, the dirty rice had a sprinkle of green onions. The meat had a nice smoke ring. Succulent brisket and pastrami. Turkey was nice a juicy. I sensed something beer like with it. Possibly brined or basted with beer? I'm just guessing. Mac n cheese was the best we've had on our BBQ quest. Brisket dirty rice, potato salad and coleslaw were stellar. The hubby had to pause with his eyes closed after his first bite of the pastrami sandwich. He needed a moment to be alone with it. Drum roll please... in our #2 slot (Behind Franklin's in Austin). Yes! That's right! I'm saying it was better than Saltlick, Terry Blacks, Hard 8 and Goldee's. There's probably a wanted poster of me in TX now for saying that. Oh well!

We didn't get there until 3 on a Saturday, which is not a mistake, but you might miss out. This place is incredible and once the food is gone it's gone. Luckily I still got fatty brisket (AMAZING!!!!!!) didn't get the sides I wanted, but the fried okra is still amazing. Service is quick and the restaurant is always very clean. This is the best BBQ I've had in OKC! Hands down.

I was curious to try this place because it recently was voted one of the top 10 Texas bbq places outside of Texas. They're only opened three days a week and my friend recommended we get there 30 minutes early. I'm glad we did because when I pulled up I took one of the last 2 parking spaces inside the lot. They had a nice bench outside the building that's covered in shade which was a nice spot to wait at. It is a bit pricey so this wouldn't be an every week sort of thing for me but the food is very much worth it. I had their special of the day, beef ribs. The crust on that was just a tiny tad salty for me (I don't typically add a lot of salt to my diet though) but my friend said it was perfect for him. I also got their 2 meat with 2 sides and chose their brisket, sausage, red beans with rice (nothing super special about this side), and East Texas Tomato Salad. (The tomato salad was a special for the day and it was really good I liked the avocado and the dressing it had a lot). They had three different barbecue sauces at the table, and I really liked the OG option. Overall, their food was delicious and my friend really liked that they asked if we wanted our cut of brisket to be lean or fatty.

I dnt like barbecue and rarely to I find good side at a bbq place. But this place broke my steak of bad bbq. The jerky pork belly burnt ends was amazing, exquisite! The tomato cucumber feta was refreshing and excellent. The potato salad was another great hit, the smoked elote was another good side and it wasn't over powering. The banana pudding was good too and they serve a good amt. I do think the banana pudding would be good with wafer pieces and banana pieces. I would go back for those burnt ends or even just the sides.

We went on a Friday during lunch. We got in line around 10:50 am and there was already a line prior to opening the doors at 11:00 am. We made the right choice because by the time we got up the order, the line was as long as the building. Order at the counter. What slows things down is you order and pay but don't move on until you've received your food. My friend said that may be because they may run out of something before they get it to you if they call a number or name. If you arrive much after opening, it may be 30 minutes to an hour before you can order. Pastrami Brisket - Excellent. This is an incredibly well done meat option. I've never seen anything like it and I will definitely be sure to order this every time. Don't miss out on this one if you go. Be aware, this is a la carte only. You can't get it in a multi meat plate. **It looks like this is offered only on Fridays**Turkey - Very solid turkey. No complaints at all. Delicious and not dry at all. Pulled pork - Very tender. The flavor was good. A bit mealy for my liking but the rest of the group liked it. All natural brisket - they asked if we wanted lean or fatty. We went with fatty. Next time we will try the lean cut. Again, good flavor but a bit mealy for me. Jalapeno cheddar sausage - Excellent. It has deep cheese pockets. You can see in the photos where the cheese oozed (sorry, weird word choice) when they sliced it. Not very spicy, just a touch of heat. The sausage itself has great flavor but adding in the epic amount of cheese and the jalapenos just works so perfectly. Pork ribs - Excellent. They were so tender. Not dry and the bark is perfectly seasoned. Hot Gut Sausage - We didn't try this one. We couldn't get past the name.Fried okra - Fried crispy enough for me. You don't get that everywhere. Nice touch - they salt the okra. I don't understand why most places don't salt their okra. Mac and cheese - Shells with creamy cheese sauce and topped with breadcrumbs. Solid Mac and cheese. Smoked elote - As a huge surprise to our group, this was the real star of the side choices we tried. We thought it was on the cob as we saw in pictures but it was in a dish. Which is great for sharing. Most interesting of all is that it was cold. Almost like a refreshing cold corn salad. We were all surprised at how much we enjoyed it. Banana pudding - It was more of a whipped texture, maybe? Delicious. We all enjoyed it thoroughly. Pricing - Actually not bad! 3 meat plate with 2 sides is $30. I think that's about average for bbq. Daily specials Thursday: pork belly burnt ends Friday: pastrami brisket (by the half pound or on a sandwich)Saturday: Texas size beef ribs by the poundHours as of posting thisThursday - Friday 11 to 3 (or sold out)Saturday - 11 to 4 (or sold out)

What a place! Went here for a late lunch and avoided the rush but the downside was they had run out of about half of the food and I'm not complaining. That's a sign of good food especially in a BBQ joint. Limited quantities means it's made in house and fresh. Boy is this a cool new spot to check out just be prepared for a line. It's top tier BBQ

If you've been living in OKC for the past couple years and haven't eaten at Edge Craft BBQ yet you done messed up. Perfect moist brisket, the best and smokiest turkey I've ever had in my life, tender and juicy pulled pork and fantastic hot sausage. Friendly staff and a nice open dining area with plenty to let you know this is TX BBQ(and probably the best you'll get outside the state) make for a great all around meal. Did I mention you'll be hard pressed to find a better potato salad anywhere?! The bacon and rustic mustard make it a perfect creamy bite. Top tier BBQ I've ever had in my life, and the best I've ever had outside of the state of TX. Edge Craft is putting OKC on the map! I arrived at 11:20 on a Saturday and only had to wait about 20/30 minutes! Get yourself down here stat and get you some of the best meats you'll ever eat before everyone hears the good news and the line wraps around the building!

I have yet to have a bad meal at Edge. I popped in today (code for stood in line a while) to grab a Texas Trinity to go. I always feel at home here with the Texas decor and down-home music I grew up with playing above the din of conversation. You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the girl.Honestly, the gumbo drew me in today and it did not disappoint. Per usual, Zach delivered outstanding brisket, ribs, and sausage. I also grabbed some Mac n cheese for my husband - they have the BEST Mac n cheese - a side of collards, and at the last minute grabbed a Peach Pudding. [SHHHHHH! Don't tell Josh - he can't eat peaches at the moment. Oh. My.That peach pudding was to die for. I didn't grab a pic because it was in a to-go container, but the ginger snap cookie, combined with the peach preserves and fresh peaches made me go digging for the recipe I KNEW I had read in Texas Monthly. My only suggestion is that the owners should move the specials board into the middle of the walkway towards the front. There is always someone leaning on the wall which keeps folks from being able to see the board and results in a deer-in-the-headlights moment at the front of the line. Hands down, this is the best BBQ you'll find in OKC... if you're lucky enough to get there before they sell out.

Don't usually think it's fair to blast a place in a review after one visit, so I gave it 2 stars instead of one, since neither of us want to go a second time. We spent around $50 or more on lunch for two. I tried at least a bit of several sides as well as two different meats. I would not call anything I had better than fairly good. I wanted to try the pastrami but they were sold out at 1:00pm. With several local BBQ spots that I think are very good to excellent, I can't see a place open only 4 or 5 hours on only 3 days a week making a go of their endeavor - unless they were exceptional. Edge Craft is certainly not. Van's Pig Stand has excellent, tender, dry rubbed ribs about 9 out of 10 times. And they usually are not overly fatty.
