Not really sure about the low reviews here, but being a pet owner in times of crisis is very emotional and draining to say the least. We've been taking our pets here for about 12 years. We've been through some pretty serious health crises with her. I can't rave enough about the service and caring here (and Dr. Diane)! We had to leave an acutely ill cat with the clinic while we went on vacation one year. (Believe me, this was not the plan.) When we left, we didn't know how ill she was but basically did not want to leave her alone or in anyone else's responsibility. Dr. Diane called us daily with updates and honesty (never crassness as mentioned in a few reviews). Luckily, this had a happy ending and with Dr. Diane's care, our cat pulled through. More recently, we're dealing with another serious health crisis and they were able to work us in (I'm sure on Dr. Diane's lunch hour). Again, honesty and sensitivity were the norm. She laid out three plans for us and gave us plenty of time to discuss in private. They've already called today to see how we're doing. I would totally recommend Eastside without any hesitation.

We have been taking both of our frenchies here for years. My parents took our English bulldog here as well. They know how to work with flat faced doggos. They're always so kind and compassionate. I can't say enough kind things about them. Dr Sears and Jenna are oustanding and I trust the team wholeheartedly.

My wife and I have taken a number of our dogs over the years to Eastside Vet and spent thousands of dollars with them to treat our dogs. We recently took our Golden Retriever to Eastside to kennel him while we were on a week's trip. When we picked him up, he had ,what is referred to as kennel cough. We had to take him back to Eastside to have him treated. When we picked him up a few hours later, we were presented with a bill for $83.00 dollars. We felt that he got the cough while at Eastside and the bill should not have been charged. After all these years and thousands of dollars, Eastside chose to charge us anyway. Then they added a late fee for not paying on time. Sad to say after all these years, Eastside will never see our dog again or any other dog we may get. All over an $83.00 bill they should have passed on!

During a visit to see family, my puppy hurt her paw and couldn't walk. I called three different 24 Hour Emergency Vet Clinics in the area, and they each acted like I had inconvenienced them just by calling. Each explained they only had one vet on duty, or only took emergencies. Ummm, hello... I'm out of town and my puppy cannot WALK!!! I called Eastside and they were so nice and friendly over the phone, and managed to book an emergency appointment for that same afternoon! (Keep in mind, this is a normal vet clinic that has normal hours...and does not advertise as being a 24 hour emergency vet like the previous three places I called.) They took care of my fur baby, treated her leg, gave her meds, and even offered to fit me in the following day if needed. I am so happy with this vet! If I lived here, this would be my main vet!!! I am so grateful to this vet clinic for showing compassion to a visitor! Oh, and the prices for service were phenomenal!!!

If you have an older or very ill pet please do not take them here. I recently brought in my older Bulldog for a check up as she had been breathing heavy on occasion over the passed two weeks. The vet examined her and listed a host of issues including a heart murmur, congested lungs, and a hard lump that shouldn't have been there. It sounded very bad to me but the vet started talking me into a full plan of attack with bloodwork and xrays and possibly surgery or treatments. To me it sounded like it was getting closer to her time but the way he talked it could be nothing serious. I asked him what the bloodwork could tell us and what could we do if she was really that sick, his answer was that it might just be pneumonia that could be treated. I was dubious at best but being a pet owner who wants to do everything possible for their pet I agreed to the bloodwork. He then said I could not be with her while they took her blood and needed to go to the lobby, this is very suspicious to me as I have always been with my dogs for shots and bloodwork, even at this vet. He then started dragging her by her leash which was upsetting to see and I grabbed the leash by the collar and walked her to the back then went to the lobby.I was out there for ten minutes when all the sudden the vet poked his head out and said "hey man you might want to come back here your dog is crashing on us". It was an extremely crass and uncaring way to be told that your pet was dying. I went back and she was already gone, they had waited until she had no life left to come get me which is still upsetting. The vet told me she was gone at that point and the way he proved this to me was to poke her in the eyeball right in front of my face, I couldn't believe he was doing it. He never explained her last moments to me or what happened, just she died at some point back there. I don't know if she started crashing or going downhill before they started the bloodwork, which I never would have agreed to it in that case, or if they were aggressive with her to get the bloodwork which caused her undue stress and sending her into crashing, it's a giant blank spot for the last minutes of my pets life and I will never get answers. Also, while I was saying my goodbyes the tech brought in a trash bag to sit next to my dog, I'm no expert but I could imagine what it was for. Then as I was walking out they started prepping the bag to put her in which they never should have done. No pet owner wants to see their pet who just died being treated like garbage. It was awful and they should have waited until I left. Finally I went to check out and they slapped me with a $500 bill that included $330 in charges for the bloodwork, bloodwork I never would have agreed to had I known she would be passing in the next twenty minutes and I strongly feel the vet should have had some kind of idea she was that close to death and never suggested the bloodwork especially as insistently as he did. I also can't be sure when the bloodwork started, if she had already started crashing in which case I would have refused it as to not put her through extra stress and pain. I have multiple issues with the charges. It was a horrible experience from start to finish and I will never be back to this vet. I also talked to a manager a few days later about all of it and she didn't seem concerned with any of it, I barely got an apology and it was completely half-hearted. She also refused to refund the charge for the bloodwork or any portion of it, even though they can't prove when they started it and had no explanation for why the vet recommended it even though my dog was within twenty minutes of dying. It was business as usual for her and she wanted to get off the phone as fast as she could. Please do not take your older or very sick pets to this vet, they don't truly care about you or the pet and just seem to want to charge you for as much as possible...

I have been taking our corgis to Eastside Vet for 4 years. The staff is always very friendly and willing to work with my schedule. Recently Kody, my 11 year old female corgi was diagnosed with Pyometra (uterine infection). The doctors at Eastside had warned me that this could happen or possibly cancer because she was never spayed. Unfortunately, I did not take their professional advise. The great news is that Dr. Bob McCraw admitted Kody on 9/10/18 for a complete hysterectomy and as of 9/24/18 she is happy and healthy. This surgery was expensive, but without the surgery Kody would have died. The Vet Technicians called me about every two days to check on Kody's progress after she came home. We had some problems with drainage & infection, the Vet Technicians were very knowledgeable; checked with Dr. Bob & immediately gave us a prescription for another antibiotic & disinfectant wipes. I truly appreciate the doctor's honesty that the only options were surgery or euthanization and what to expect financially for the surgery ($1,370.00). I truly appreciate them for giving me more quality time with my beautiful companion. - Kathy L.

If I could give less than one star I would. I brought my 4 month old puppy here just for a nail trim. He was gone for what seemed like 2 minutes. When they brought him back, I quickly noticed he was bleeding all over my back seat. They cut the nail too short reaching the quick on both front paws. When I called the front desk to notify them they said it wasn't a big deal and that it does happen. They said they'd send someone to stop the bleeding. The whole reason I brought him here in the first place was to not do it at home so this wouldn't happen. Safe to say I won't be back. Also I'm an RN and would never treat a patient the way my puppy was treated.

Caught a feral cat that was sick. Called and spoke to Jackie and explained what was going on and EMPHASIZED that the cat was feral! She said Dr. Steve said he would see her if I would bring her in right away. Dropped everything and drove 30 minutes to get there. They came to the car and got her (COVID precaution). In LESS THAN TWO MINUTES, I was called and told they could not touch her (HELLO??? FERAL!!!) And WOW!! You really put a lot of time and effort into even TRYING!! The vet said he could send home some oral antibiotics to give to her daily (HELLO?? FERAL!!! You can't touch her to examine her, but I can administer daily oral antibiotics twice a day!!) I said I am not going to try to give her antibiotics if you haven't examined her and don't have a clue of what's going on. I said just to bring her back to me. Less than 60 seconds later, Jackie called and said they wouldn't be charging me for anything [good, considering you didn't do anything] except for a $47 exam fee. "WHAT," I asked? You and you both said "he couldn't examine her because he couldn't touch her!" She replied "yes, but he tried, and you have to pay for his time." I responded "what about MY time!! I openly and honestly told you the cat was feral before I even brought her here! It took us two hours to catch her and 30 minutes to drive here!" She said "I'm sorry," and then asked how I wanted to pay. I paid it, but I can assure you % that I will NEVER recommend this clinic to anyone!!! They could care less about the animal or me as a new client. Like the rest of corporate greed in this country, it was only about the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR!!! Giving this place ONE STAR is overly generous, but Yelp doesn't allow no stars or negative stars, which is what they deserve!
