Double R&P

Wow, what a little gem. Great food, great service from very friendly servers, all in a restaurant decorated to resemble a country barn. We will be back!

Great service and food. Friday steak night special was great. Two weeks ago we had the ribeye special and it was excellent. Perfectly cooked and wonderfully seasoned. Last night we had the New York Strip steak special and again it was fabulous. Highly recommend the restaurant. Staff is very friendly and very fast service. Lots of food. Enough to take home for another meal. The rolls with cinnamon butter and the coconut cream fried pie were heavenly!

Bad service and overpriced. Not anyplace I will be going back to. Got a $30 steak dinner. It was way undercooked and the meat was just that. Meat. No seasoning to enhance the flavor. We never saw our waitress again after we got our drinks to ask the steak get cooked to a decent temp.

It was all awesome! We had chicken fried steak sandwiches, Smokehouse Burger, steak sandwich, curly fries and Texas toothpicks... then 6 fried pies to go! The ladies were fun and very nice. We were the last customers of the evening. We waited about 20 minutes for our food; a large group was just ahead of us. (They ran out of water- a regular problem recently we were told, but that didn't interfere with a great meal.) Will drive out here again!

So happy that we discovered this out-of-the-way gem. Double R & P has a little bit of everything ... it's a convenience store, a clothing boutique, a gun and ammo store, but most of all, it's a great little restaurant. Food from their grill is excellent all week, but Friday and Saturday steak nights are the star of the show. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and everything is delicious. Service is always friendly and prompt. (For old-timers in the area, it's reminiscent of Phil's Country Fare in Westville, which closed more than a decade ago and is greatly missed.) Can't recommend Double R & P highly enough.

Casual dinning but what a great kitchen. Had the huge ribeye steak, fries and salad. I really did eat the whole thing. The catfish was tasted and may have to switch and every other visit have tge catfish.

Our friends asked us to join them for a steak dinner tonight. We said sure where we going...they said we're going to an old gas station. Who would have thought that an old gas station in the middle of nowhere would have one of the best tasting steaks I've ever had. The Double R & P gas and grill is worth the drive.This restaurant looks like a mix of a gas station/barn on the outside. Walk in the large double doors and you will see your in a waiting room, but keep going, you'll then be inside a large spacious barn room. It's a relaxed comfortable family vibe here. Saturday nights you walk up to the counter to order, then food is brought to you. FOOD: The Menu is typical grill/cafe food. But according to our friends who eat here often, the Double R & P is known for there delicious STEAKS. So that's what I ordered. An 8oz Sirloin. Wow, my steak was cooked to perfection and was tender & very flavorful. Absolutely Yummyliscious!!! My dinner came with hand cut fries & a salad. Both were good. The salad was fresh and the fries yummy. The steak was the Star tho! The hubs had Grilled Pork Chops. He said they were awesome! For dessert I had my first Lemon Fried Pie. Totally scrumptious & a must, so save room after your dinner.SERVICE: The ladies here are so sweet! You'll definitely get friendly service with a smile! Bravo ladies, you make the environment a happy place. Thank you!RESTAURANT: Was clean and the tables were being bussed. There is a little gift store towards the back to browse in before or after your meal.

Damn good burger and fries. Really good steaks on Friday nights. Definitely worth your drive out to Chuy

Phenomenal steaks. Try the Friday lunch special ribeye sandwich. The ribeye sandwich willMake your life better. It's easy to find because there ain't nothing else out there but it's a beautiful drive out there.

Great atmosphere! Went for Saturday steak night and the food was amazing! Steak was very tender and the loaded baked potato is what dreams are made of.
