Chickanellas Scratch Kitchen

We were visiting friends who took us to Chickanellas. For those visiting the area, you won't be disappointed in this local favorite.We were greeted by friendly staff and promptly sat at a comfortable table. The server didn't take long to take our drink orders.The menu is mostly sandwiches, but they also have great soups and salads. The chicken rice soup was out of this world. I had the Wild hog sandwich which had a slice of ham and well as pork with secret sauce. It was very good. The homemade chips were a great compliment to the sandwich.Overall, it was a fantastic meal.

Friendly and fast service in a casual cozy ambiance. Went during breakfast and food was cooked as ordered and it was delicious. The biscuits and gravy were so tasty; probably best I've ever had. We also tried their homemade jams and those were superb.They have a display of cakes, breads and pickles that you won't be able to resist.This place is a gem in a really small lake town. Give it a try and I bet you won't be disappointed.

This has been our FAVORITE breakfast place for years! It used to be located in Grove, but now it's right next door to us in Afton! The people are the sweetest ever! And the blueberry pancake is a must! Be aware that it is HUGE and full of yumminess!! You must try it!

I can't really talk about the food because, well we never got it we were getting hangry and decided to stop at chickenella's BIG mistake. When we arrived we were excited because the service seamed pretty good. We got seated, ordered, and then never saw our waitress again. We sat there for about an hour waiting for our food and finally left. Overall I don't recommend unless you wanna wait all day to eat

Pretty good food and super friendly people. This time I had the cuban sandwich with chips and thought it was great. Good experience but both times we have eaten here the service is very slow.

My wife and I ate dinner here on Valentines night and we're very pleased with the steak dinners. The special that evening was Fillet Oscar which I found to be excellent. The baked potato was perfect. The service was great. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended.

We had dinner here last night. Everything was five star! Service could not have been better. Staff was so friendly. Food was fantastic. I hope we go back this morning for breakfast!!

Horrible experience and very overpriced. Charge $2 extra for salad dressing for the $23 salad. The pasta Alfredo was basically a child's portion for $20+. There were 9 of us and they brought 'complementary' bread that was enough to serve maybe three and then charged us extra when we asked them for enough to cover everyone at the table. Speed of service was terrible as it took almost an hour to get our food and the restaurant was less than half full. We eat out 200 times a year and this is the worst in years. Do not go here!

Heard alot about this place went as a family group, waitress was awesomely nice and did her best, but for the price based on portion I won't go again we had 10 and they brought one little laof of bread, and we asked for more, not knowing they were gonna charge and it was a ridiculous amount the pasta dish was a a ridiculously small portion, it would have been okay for a child but not a adult, for the cost it should have been at least double the size, the sandwich was Ok but the side served were not a adequate amount, let's just say we won't repeat that disaster nicked and dime. Even for a extra dressing for a salad
