Charlie's Fried Chicken West

Outstanding meal! Charlie's Chicken is one of the things I miss about living back home. The place was clean and everyone was super friendly. Had the spicy chunks for the first time. They were pretty good but I might get a mix with original next time. This location still has gizzards too if you are interested. It was good to be home! Hopefully, I will see you soon Oklahoma!

Disclaimer: Charlie's Chicken was a childhood favorite of mine, and I like to stop by whenever I'm in Muskogee, including twice this past week. Highlights:-My favorite will always be the chicken chunks. The spicy ones are fine, but the original is the best in my opinion. -Mashed potatoes and gravy usually a grand slam. -The rolls. Get the rolls. Maybe just order some extra rolls and butter by itself. -Mac n cheese: They can keep this. It is always bland and not very flavorful -Service: This isn't really where you go if you are in a rush. The food is great when it's hot and fresh, which it was when I went last week but it was lukewarm when I went yesterday.

I am sure with a different shift it may be better, but overall the concept is good. I came to try Charlies Chicken because years ago my fiance worked for Charlie and he wanted me to experience some good chicken. The chicken I got was called "chunks". They offered it in regular or spicy. I ordered spicy and the chicken tasted not spicy but they serve it on fried jalapenos. I love fried jalapenoes but these where old and cold. The potatoes tasted like they came from powdered. The green beans where good and the yeast roll was dense but tasty. It was a slow night for the business, Saturday about 8pm. They are also good for dessert. Cookies, pies and cake. Plenty of food for the price.

I guess I forgot to make this post. I went here about a week ago on a Sunday between church services. I drove over from Haskell. It didn't take terribly too long. While I hadn't been to this Charlie's in awhile, I will say it was some of the freshest I've had in a long time. We had a small wait but when I opened my plate I figured out it was because we had fresh chicken chunks. We ordered 4 meals and Xavier helped us at the window. He was polite and made small talk. When I asked him for sauce and explained I didn't know which would be best, he made a sample for us. We also had all the food correct and we weren't missing anything. I would say overall we will be visiting again. I was happy with everything from pulling into the establishment to when exiting.

I mean, it is what it is, right?Having only seen one of these restaurants for the first time last week while in another city, I figured I should try it out.The menu is pretty straight forward. The marquee sign outside said Monday specials were catfish or meat loaf.It was my first time to Muskogee, so I didn't know I could turn right at the light and there would have been many more options.The gravy for the mashed potatoes was in between white and brown. The roll was okay. Nothing crazy.The okra was DELICIOUS and the catfish was average.The lady behind the counter was nice enough. There weren't a lot of patrons here. It does feel like it's stuck in 1975 without the Grandy's flavor of food.

I Went to the drive through a couple of weeks ago and ordered a 2 piece chicken Breast , dinner and I got 2 piece thighs . I don't think they know one from the other. I call that night and she said that she would send a gift certificate I'm still waiting on it, I won't go back I will drive the extra mile to go to the east side Charlie's children .

Love this place for carb cheat day. Chicken chunks are awesome and love the rolls, potatoes and gravy, and mac and cheese!! Not always the freshest but I like it anyways.

Stop here for dinner, since I've been selected for Federal grand jury and let's just say I was not impressed at all to say the least. My chicken was extremely cold, mac & cheese was old & roll hard. Wish I had of ordered a large orka only. I won't be back when I return. Sould have went to KFC instead...

Chicken dried out rolls hard as a rock. But worse of all they charged my card then told me they didn't have what I ordered. Will never go back. Worst customer service ever didn't offer refund and gave me attitude when I got upset. Definitely do not recommend!!!!

This place was great! We had fried chicken plate and a half order of chicken livers they were hot and delicious. green beans were delicious . Great place.
