Charlie's Chicken

I don't eat at Charlie's very often, but I get a craving for it every now and then. It's always delicious fried chicken and home style southern side dishes. My first job was a Charlie's Chicken, so I love every menu item. I also had a Charlie's Chicken in Tulsa cater my wedding! This location on the East side of Muskogee is run by the youth. Service is always quick and efficient. The inside is cafeteria style ordering. I usually just get take out from the drive thru. It's good stuff, even if it's a bit pricey compared to other chicken spots.

Any time I'm visiting my family in OK, Charlie's Chicken is a must!! The chicken chunks & mashed potatoes with pepper gravy is the best! But the catfish, cole slaw, & friend okra is also great. The location is clean & spacious. The employees are friendly & were especially helpful when I decided on my last day to put in a large order for pick up with very short notice.

This one in particular is my favorite in the Charlie's chain. The food is fresh. The gravy here doesn't disappoint, but I wish they all tasted the same at all the restaurant's in the Charlie's Chicken 'sphere. The up front servers are always sweet and don't mind expressing a smile. I haven't had a underwhelming experience here. I have been stopping by for this and that since my high school years, they were new then on Chandler. Whatever it is, don't change that gravy!!Chicken chunks are really great too, absolutely a must try. Green beans, a roll!! Don't forget to ask for the jalapeños if you like some spicy chicken, separate of course hence they don't make spicy flavored chicken. I'm okay with that. I'd post pics. But I will later!! Good restaurant. Great eats !!

Delicious! Very clean and good service. Definitely going there again! Both me and my husband were happy with it

Okay, it's been a long time since I have eaten Charlie's chicken so maybe it used to be better but. Oh my god. We got 8 pieces of dark meat, that was $17+. Wow. THAT IS A LOT. 7 chicken chunks was nearly $11. So each piece of dark meat chicken was over $2 a piece. This did not include sides or rolls or even any kind of sauces. The service was FANTASTIC. The ladies who waited on us were as nice and kind as can be! An absolute pleasure! The chicken however, did it's price, in my opinion, should have been the most delicious chicken I have ever put in my mouth. I took ONE bite and almost just gave it all to my cat. It was SOOO DRY. Soo absolutely bland, and dry. Dry chicken is extremely off putting and hard to swallow. Turned off ever eating chicken here again and it's a chicken establishment who's main pull is absolutely their chicken. The chunks were better, but with no sauce to dip in I'm glad I went home so I had some to use. They were a tad dry but nothing like the dark meat chicken. They were not the biggest chicken chunks and honestly? Canes chicken is superior in every way but sadly we don't have one in town. I guess it was just extremely disappointing especially compared to other competitors (that we sadly don't have in town) I dunno. I guess if you like really extremely pricey dry chicken this is the place for you. I honestly just could not believe how much their chicken was, I guess I'm a cheapskate but I can get 2 chicken fingers and a sauce at Canes for under $5 and it's always fresh and delicious. The ladies working however were angels and it's definitely not their fault the chicken was bland and dry. (And the pricing isn't their fault either of coarse!) I gave this 2 stars because the ladies who waited on us deserve one extra star.

When Charlie's serves up piping hot chicken with mashed potatoes and their famous (kinda) rolls, it's great! The reason I'm giving them three stars is that more often than not, regardless of which location I visit, the chicken is only warm and tastes like it was made some time ago, the mashed potatoes are meh, and the rolls are struggling to maintain their little warmth. Charlie's chicken (I'm a fan of the chunks) play second fiddle to the star attraction -- their dinner rolls. They aren't complex or made with a special grain or anything like that, but I have enjoyed them ever since childhood! Ask any local Muskogeean (yes, that is how the demonym is spelled) and they'll tell you that Charlie's is on the expensive side for chicken, which is true. But since the Church's Chicken on Okmulgee Street is basically a health code violation and KFC is somewhat far away, the two Charlie's locations enjoy a crowd. One unusual thing about every Charlie's is that the drive through has a two-window setup but the first window is never used. Ever. This isn't terribly problematic, but it means that you look over the menu before getting to window #1, completely bypass window #1 because no one is there, and then place your order at window #2, pay, and wait. It causes a bit of a backup in the line and is inefficient, but again, not awful.

Won't be going back to chandler location. Payed $10 for my food a 3 piece chunk and all chunk are barely the size of my pinky finger. Total rip off.

Ok haven't said a word past few times but getting sick of this. Teach your workers the difference between dark meat and white!!!! I always get one piece breast meal and always get a thigh. Done arguing and going there

The Charlie's on this side of town is great but always so busy. The dumplings could use a little work.

My husband and I ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, okra and a roll. I'm not sure what the chicken fried steak was. It was definitely not steak. The potatoes and okra were cold. The roll was good. We definitely wasted our money and the few calories we consumed.
