Good food, great service. Great pies, too! Locally owned, home style, open dining room.

We stopped here this morning for a quick breakfast. Most of the customers were easily recognizable as locals. However, we were greeted quickly and pleasantly by staff. The place is a bit dated looking, but that's your typical small town diner. I ordered the breakfast platter #4. While the sausage didn't look overly appealing, the taste was good. The French toast was very good dusted with powdered sugar. My boyfriend got an egg Benedict bowl of some sort with a pancake on the side. He did have to ask for a small side of sausage gravy, but he said with that addition it was very good. All in all I would return here if I was in Carthage and looking for something other than fast food.

I love their French toast breakfast. Staff is always friendly. Catfish is good, too. I wish they sold the cinnamon swirls bread.

Y'all. I went crazy today and ordered the salmon avocado bowl. Duuude...so stinking good! That is the best salmon I've had in a long time AND it was a huge portion. Hands down, whenever I get a hankering for fish or come here outside of breakfast I will be getting this bowl!10/10 would recommend

Hearty portions and reasonable prices. We stopped for breakfast on our way home from camping on the Elk River. Convenient stop on the way back to KC. Friendly service, hot food, coffee did not go empty and plates picked up as you finished.

I eat here often. Love the friendly atmosphere. Staff goes out of there way. The fried chicken is the best. There soups are homemade and delicious.

We went here for breakfast for a quick bite to eat. I ordered a waffle and hot cocoa. The waffle was huge and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My dining companion ordered a huge breakfast of eggs, hash browns, sausage, and I think biscuits and gravy. It was all amazing! The price was also great for the portions! If I ever have to go back to Carthage, I'd definitely go back!

Stopped in for dinner during our one night in Carthage. Pretty quiet for dinner, but really enjoyed the food in this old-school diner. Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and peas was one of the specials so I had to get it. Awesome comfort food. Great meatloaf and gravy. The meal wasn't heavy at all. We also ordered beef barley soup. So good on a chilly night. Super clean inside and the friendly service. The prices are beyond reasonable.

Another little hidden gem in Carthage. Went here for the first time since moving here last May, I should have gone sooner. Carthage Family Restaurant. Great place, great food and even better service! What was really cool was seeing one of the customers go to a table where a Vietnam veteran was sitting and letting him know that he thanked him for his service and that his meal would be taken care of. Seeing little kids hug the waitress on the way out was also refreshing.

Stopped eating there a year ago. Both the wife and I ate there and had basically different dinners with only one item in common. Both of us got EXTREMELY sick within an hour of eating there. Place is old and in aging condition. Looks like you should just drive right on by, and we do. Has been great in the past but suspect it changed owners again sometime back. Close to home but we will not ever go back.
