Canelo's

I'm not sure with the reviews some say really good. Maybe it was just bad timing but when I go eat somewhere I want flavor ! I want to taste all the seasonings! Fajitas were very bland and watery not cooked on a grill it couldn't be. The only thing I had that was made okay was the beans and rice. Server was really nice and all, and wine was good. Just wasn't my cup of tea I guess.

I love going to local restaurants when I travel, and Mexican is one of my go to cuisines. Based on the reviews of this place, I had high hopes. But, I was disappointed.Let me start off by saying the service was fast and efficient and the amount of food for the price was impressive. But, when I go to a Mexican restaurant, I look for two things...the salsa that comes with the free chips and how they do tamales.The salsa was first. It was served warm (and I do mean warmer than room temperature) and tasted heavily of cilantro laced crushed tomatoes. Not a good first impression.Then came the tamales. I was pleased to see a tamale plate on the house specialties section of the menu, as they are usually relegated to one choice on a combination plate or even only available a la carte. But I was highly disappointed. First, the masa was thick and the consistency of wet cornbread. There was very little filling in the tamales proper with most of the meat piled on top of each tamale. The individual sauces were tasty, but the texture of the masa was hard to overcome.In looking around the restaurant, others seemed to be enjoying their food, and I would be willing to give the place another try, but I won't be having tamales from here again.

Great service, great food! They were really busy but we were seated quickly. I had the barrios quesadillas and they were delicious!

So good!! Nice ambiance with great waitstaff, good drinks and great food. We had the happy hour tacos. He had chicken and I had shrimp which was just delicious! We both had margaritas which were also excellent! Highly recommended.

Everything was awesome. For the last 3 years we're been driving from Phoenix to the east coast and back and we've eaten here each year. The food seems to get better and better each time. Look we live in Phoenix and we have plenty of awesome Mexican restaurants, but I have to tell you this place kicks ass. The food is amazing, and the service is impeccable. If you pass through Clinton, do yourself a favor and stop here to eat. You won't be disappointed.

So, I've been hanging out here while in the county for work. I enjoy a drink after work and canelos is a great Margarita. I have enjoyed it but today I have been insulted twice and served the worst food I have ever eaten. I ordered "all you can eat taco Monday". Two ground beef tacos. What I got was two ground tripe tacos of the most disgusting flavor. Horrible. When I complained I received my bill for 55 bucks and an instruction that maybe I should stop drinking. They acted like they didn't speak English and displaced me. I paid the bill and left. What this allows me to do is give them a ZERO. I'm sorry to everyone that was good to me there, but your food sucks.

The service and environment was good and what I expected from a Mexican restaurant. The food was less than favorable. I usually get the enchiladas which are fine...but I got the fajitas this time. If we ever return I'll stick to the enchiladas.

Great find on our way back to OKC. Priced well, good drinks, and good food. Will stop again anytime we're driving through.

Great portion, great food, nice inside. I am from Cali and food did not disappoint at all. Michoacána steak plate was great
