Cake Lady

Finally getting around to this review even though this was months ago...I missed my friends: wedding due to this bakery. The cupcakes were supposed to arrive at 2:30 at the venue (which is literally across he street from the bakery-which I was unaware of at the time because I would've marched right over to find out wth was happening). By 4:45 still no cupcakes... Not even a phone call from her. Nothing. The wedding ceremony was at 4 (just a few minutes away), so at 4:45 I left to catch the last 10 minutes of it. I left a note and my number on the door in case the cake lady arrived while I was away, which she didn't. I hurried back to the venue to beat everyone else there in the hopes she'd be there (5:02). She wasn't. All the guests arrived and the newly weds arrived... Still no cake. A bridesmaid finally got in touch with her, and the cake lady was very rude to her. The cupcakes, which were in the CENTER of the room so they could be the CENTERPIECE, didn't arrive until almost 6.They were small, bland, and, in my opinion, ugly. The story that was told is that she put the cupcakes in her trunk, and then went inside to take an order. When she came back out, the cupcakes were gone. IF that were the case, wouldn't a phone call be in order to warn the customer? Also, what professional puts cupcakes in the trunk in summer in Oklahoma?

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! Moved to the area this year and absolutely LOVE this bakery! Ordered a German chocolate cake for my husband's birthday this week and it was absolutely stunning and delicious!

Oh my stars. From cookies to gluten free options & puppy treats this cake lady is above & beyond. Her seasonal flavors are tons of fun & the shop could not be cuter. Whether you buy from the display or have a custom order--this is the place to be! Amazing customer service too!

I hope to prevent others from falling victim to this fraudulent business.The Cake Lady Collinsville told me the cake I ordered by phone on October 24 would be $95.00. She confirmed that price by email. I did not agree to pay $135.80 for a $95.00 cake. I did not agree for her to charge my card a second time for $129.01. She said the cake would be ready at 1:00 on Saturday, October 26, for my mother's party. When my sister and I arrived to pick up the cake, the Cake Lady hadn't even started decorating it but said she just needed 15 or 20 minutes to "finish it up." She didn't finish the cake until 52 minutes after the agreed upon time, 8 minutes before the party was supposed to start. I had called (she didn't answer) and emailed her about the additional charges, and spoke to her in person, but she did nothing. She told me by email and in person that she would call me regarding the charges, but she did not. She told me the wrong amounts were because "Collinsville taxes are higher" or maybe because she "hit a wrong button." She did not inform me on the phone that there would be a 4% "Visa charge." I did not give her a $22.63 tip (as she stated on the dispute response form) for a cake that was 52 minutes late and for which she had already overcharged me. The correct price for the cake should have been $103.71. There is no way she can justify the second charge of $129.01. She does not have a signed order form as she reported to my bank. She knows all these things, yet she is challenging my dispute and claiming the $135.80 charge was correct. I know all these things, as well. I have to wonder, though, what has caused her to resort to such actions. It's not only a bad business plan (as reflected in several recent negative online reviews), but it's also a pretty terrible way to live.

We Ordered 3 dozen gourmet assorted cupcakes 3weeks in advance for a retirement party. Paid for them up front when we came to pick them up order was not ready so they pulled from their showcase . They looked great. To my utter and great disappointment our guest could not eat them they where so dried out and tasted terrible 110.00 ended up in the trash. Buy local , keep small businesses going. Well this is one place I will not ever recommend or patronize again. So very disappointed.

Cake Lady is out of business. The Blessed Baker took her place and is WAY better!!! The most amazing cupcakes in the planet and the sugar free options are out of this world!

I called the Cake lady on a Saturday to ask if she had gluten free cupcakes in her case. She said "no, but I am fixing to put some in the oven. If you give me about an hour, I will have them out and ready." So...two hours later, I show up and no cupcakes, not even any in the oven. She told me she would have some for me to pick up tomorrow (Sunday) by 11:30. I went ahead and paid and told her I would see her tomorrow about 11:30-noon. I show up the next day. Door is locked. Waited around for 30 minutes for her to show, no show. I called, she didn't answer. I left her a message. I didn't get a call back...here we are 24 hours later, still no call back. This is the 2nd time she has disappointed me, and I'll never go back. I only gave it one star because I couldn't give it zero.

I am very sad to have to write this. The Cake Lady did our wedding. We had our cake tasting and were made to wait in our car. Apparently Ashley, the owner, had to run to the grocery store. Not a big deal overall, so I let it slide, however we were not informed and it ended up being an almost 35 minute wait. The cake at the testing was good and the fillings yummy so I was excited overall. We paid the rest of our total for the cake at the tasting. The location of our venue was just across the street so there were going to be no issues with delivery. The wedding day arrives! I am the bride and getting ready at the Mayo, while my now husband is getting ready at the reception venue. We even had another person there to meet the Cake Lady at the door to let her in at 2:30 (the agreed upon time), in case my husband was to busy to catch her. She does not show. Not only that, but there is no word from her. 4:45 comes and still no word from her. The person waiting arrived back at 5:02 and still, no cake. SHE DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL AROUND 6! Let me also mention the wedding started at 4. She was setting up the cake table while guests were already at the reception (the cake table was the center decoration for the whole reception) . My bridesmaid called her before she had arrived and she claimed the cupcakes were in her van or trunk (not sure) and she went back in to take an order, came out, and someone stole them (she was very rude to my bridesmaid when she told her this). I have YET to hear from her, get an apology, or be offered money back. We paid a TON of money for this to be the result. The cupcakes were not filled very well and when you pay $2.50 a cupcake for regular size ones, you expect them to be worth it. On top of that, she put a hole in the top of the cake for a topper.... I told her we were not having a topper. I have come to find out through conversation that this is not the first time she has come late to set up. I know of at least two other times it has happened with people I personally know, granted I did not know all this before we ordered through her.

This was just amazing--these people put together a rasberry/lemon cake for twenty people that was a greater star than the person we were celebrating!!! Fantastic and surely one of the best in this part of the country!

Worst experience ever. Ordered a cake from her for my son's birthday. Paid her in full a couple of weeks before we needed the cake. Over $200. She said I could pick up the cake at 9am the day of the party. I told her I would be there at 10. A little before 10 she emailed me to let me know that she wouldn't be able to meet me on time due to being held up at another delivery. I told her I would wait since I had already driven an hour to get the cake. A little after 11, she called me and said she made it back to her house, but the cake was ruined because the fridge she kept it in overnight had quit working. My son's party was at noon. She said she would redo the cake and get it to me by 6:30. This left us with no cake for the party, but since I already paid her I didn't know what else to do. At 4 that afternoon, she said she would meet me at 7. At 7:50 she texted that she was on her way. She finally showed up with the cake a little after 9. It was destroyed. She said it happened when she was driving to bring it to me. I told her I wanted my money back since the cake and the day was ruined. She said she would refund me in 2 days, when she got her paycheck. 3 days later, she finally responded back to me saying she didn't have the money to refund me, and that she would have to make payments to me. I had to file a claim with PayPal to get my money back. Absolutely unacceptable. I was lied to over and over. She basically stole from me since she didn't provide what I paid for and then I had to fight for my refund. Worst of all, she ruined my son's party and day.
