"So, my car has been making lots and lots of bad sounds... squealing, dragging, cranking. You name it, my car sounded like it. I've been dreading going to a mechanic for a while because I knew the bill was going to be extensive, but it had to be done. Needless to say, I now feel more at ease than I have about my car since the first time I stepped in it, and that's over 3 years ago.I heard about this repair shop from a co-worker who had nothing but good things to say. Their reputation is well-earned. When I came to My Mechanic, I was greeted instantly in a climate-controlled office that even had a bathroom, wifi, and a TV. After he moved another vehicle he was working on, the mechanic immediately got to work on looking at my car. Less than 45 minutes later, I had a detailed estimate of everything, printed out in writing--parts, labor estimates, and the like. Next, unlike other mechanics that usually try to tell you as little as possible and show you even less, he took me into the repair shop itself where my car was still jacked up off the floor. And he proceeded to show me with a flashlight every leak, every belt, and every hose that needed to be replaced as well as where and how it was leaking. He even mentioned something that would need to be replaced sometime in the distant future (so distant that he hadn't mentioned it on the estimate). Now, if you think that he was making things up to get a buck out me, you'd be wrong. Everything he mentioned, I had either some inkling of suspicion before the estimate, or he had clear evidence of. He even caught an incomplete repair job done by another mechanic 6 months ago, and something a different mechanic had mentioned needed to be replaced some time ago as well.That said, I did decide to get something repaired today. He had the part brought to him in less than 20 minutes and had it on and ready within the hour. The prices with My Mechanic are fair, the waiting room is comfortable--so you won't be banging your head against a wall waiting for him to get done with your car--and the business is honest.My car no longer squeals and it runs a lot better too--all that in less than 2 hours. I couldn't be happier."
