Buttered Bunns Cafe

Good stop along Historic Route 66. To be fair, the name grabbed my attention. Located in a newer area of town, near Harbour freight, there is plenty of parking around the building.Seat yourself, a waitress quickly stopped by with menus and took a drink order. The menu is pretty big and includes breakfast and a kids menu. I ordered hot tea and am so happy to have received a cup of tea with a pot of tea back-up! Yes, all the tea please. The lemons on the side added to my tea joy. It's the small things. My SO ordered himself an open faced roastbeef sandwich. This is shredded roast on top of a sweet roll smothered in gravy with a side of mashed potato. He certainly ate it like it was tasty. (I did confirm - it is tasty.)I went with an a la carte breakfast of two eggs and one pancake. The pancake had a slightly sweet taste and is fluffy. The eggs were cooked perfectly 'over easy'. You can tell they are cooked as eggs should be over a low heat - no scorch marks on the outer edge. Bathrooms are in the back left corner and are cleanest where it matters most. Diaper station in the ladies room. During our visit many of the guests knew each other and chatted amongst themselves. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly. They kept a close eye on all the guests making sure everyone had everything they needed. All together a good stop.

This Local Dive was packed!! it's set about 10 minutes off the highway on Main street. Super friendly service and good food. Pun on the name Bunns!! cute

We have come to a restaurant that has food, extraordinaire, buttered, buns, Café.We ate a meal that you would not believe, you cannot find food like this anywhere else in the whole state of Missouri or Oklahoma. If you want some good eaten and some good service, you better come to buttered buns café, amen!OK the ambience here is awesomeness like down home friendly, while I was even allowed to talk to other customers and they did not throw me out, so if you want a friendly staff friendly environment and some real real comfort food I'm talking about real comfort food you better come here because you are missing out if you do not. God bless and we're not gonna say, God save the queen we will say God bless and save America. Amen.

Only went in for a couple of coffees to go - gave me two giant 16 oz coffees for less than $5! It was hot and fresh. Tasted great! Remodel looks great too! Plates of diners appeared sizable and smelled wonderful! Will go back for food at a later date!

Great food. Fast and accurate service. Curb-side parking. Table seating. Fountain drinks and breakfast. Daily specials. Comfortable atmosphere. Great selection.

The food was really good while remaining surprisingly cheap, however when I went they were pretty crowded and understaffed. Our waitress was very friendly however and I would be happy to go again.

The food was decent, but the service was lacking. We had to ask for missing items multiple times. The french toast was undercooked and missing strawberries. The chicken fried bacon tasted like nothing but breading because the bacon was so thin it was almost non existant. We asked for more napkins and the waitress brought 2 napkins for 4 people. She never offered to refill our drinks. Fyi they are open till 2 pm but you can't get grits after 1 pm because the dishwasher needs to soak the pans for at least an hour. We tried to order them at 1:10. They were out of Sweet Tea? You have tea , you have sugar? Cute little place, lots of locals, but they need to step up the service.

Food and service were just average. Although not terrible, the food was not award winning either. I got the chicken and dumplings; which were a little overcooked.

The food was awesome. All of my family was very pleased with everything. Service was great as well. If you like fried Zucchini, this is your place!! As full as this place was and seems to always be, I hope they think about adding on. Great place to eat. I will definitely be back.
