We'd visited the Duck Creek location many times last summer. Since it is closed for the season, we decided to try the Monkey Island location. The interior is eclectically decorated and there's pool tables, shuffle board, and a few video games to try after you eat. This is also a great music venue featuring local and area artists. (Down Low was there the night we visited.)Although it was getting a bit busy, service was friendly and fast (with some other staff helping tag team drink service and food delivery). We tried the appetizer special: artichoke spinach dip. Better than average. We tried the Kansas City Strip and the Nashville Tender Mac. The steak came with two sides. One we chose was the baked potato. It was HUGE and came with a basket of every topping you would ever want: butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, and green onion. Seriously, the accompanying side salad and this potato would have made a meal. The mac 'n cheese was huge as well and was topped with two ginourmous pieces of breaded chicken doused with a delicious (and spicy) hot sauce. This was enough to split into two servings. There's no beer on tap but F-5 was available in cans so all was well. I had the Spicy Limonata cocktail. It was refreshing but could have benefited from some extra sweetening. This is definitely has a neighborhood feel and we plan on visiting again.

I've eaten here twice when it wasn't crowded during the week and the food has been pretty good, service good and eating with a view of the lake from the dock is an added benefit. Margaritas were good, pig tails (actually fried pork loin) is very good, Reuben sandwich was delicious but could be better with more meat on the sandwich. Fish and chips was a disappointment with only 4 little fish stick sized strips per order and no "Dockside tartar sauce" listed on the menu available as it hadn't been prepared. The small portion wasn't well received by those who ordered it, tasted good but more like a snack than a meal.As food costs increases for everything, it's either portion sizes or the prices that must be adjusted and restaurants are under a lot of pressure with labor scarce as well. I believe adding options for portion sizes is a better option than reducing serving sizes, hungry people can upsize their portions -at additional cost and everyone is happier.

UPDATED 6/30/20: This place is even better than it was in 2018. The food is delicious and more restaurant-style than many other places on Grand Lake. We enjoyed the patio as the non-smoking section still smells like the smoking section. I wish they could ban smoking and not hurt business! This is one of my local favs when I'm visiting the lake. Previous: The kitchen is open until 1:00am EVERY night! You won't find that anywhere else on Monkey Island, or even within a 30 minute driving distance. My family has grown up at the lake on weekends for decades, so this is a huge deal! The atmosphere is casual and friendly. However, the cocktails add a city touch that I love. The margaritas are made naturally with freshly squeezed lemon and lime and simple syrup. The strawberry infused vodka drink was a hit! All were served in tall glasses. Of course they serve beer as well. The menu offers a variety of items versus the standard burgers and sandwiches everywhere else nearby (although they have that too!). The fried pickle chips were thick and the breading was tasty. Their homemade ranch dressing is AMAZING. The grilled chicken salad was simple, but ample and filling. I plan to go back and try other items as well as relax with friends and family. The location is great, especially when you don't want to drive to Grove for a restaurant-style meal. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because that means perfection. We had to walk through a smoking section to get to non-smoking; maybe it was just that door was only open for a Sunday, but smelling smoke is not appealing (I know, it's still a bar too). The fried pickles and grilled chicken on the salad were smaller portions than most places as well. These items wouldn't prevent me from going back though. Kudd

This hidden gem has got me hooked! From the moment you walk in the atmosphere makes you feel like home. (And not in now cracker barrel kinda way.) A very classy yet laid back vibe! Now the food.... the food was AMAZING! 10/10 would recommend trying the low country but also, can't wait to come back and try something else as well! Blind Swine. I'll be back soon!

This was the first restaurant we ate at after buying a home in Monkey Island. The decor was very cozy. We sat ourselves and our server Tina was great. Ordered a Long Island, but it had too much coke, not strong. Bartender wasnt sure how to make kamikaze shots, so went with well tequila which were really rough shots. Foid: Ordered Rueben and fries. The proportion of sauerkraut over corned beef was overwhelming. The sandwich was dry and also they have no thousand island. The kid who brought our food informed me that their swine sauce was similar. FYI, its NOT. It tasted like a mix of ketchup a miracle whip. It does not pair well with a Reuben. My hub said he liked the burger.

Was really good food but didn't like that we had to walk through the smoky part of the restaurant to get to non-smoking. We ordered the fried pickle appetizer. Delicious!! I ordered the Cubano with garlic mashed potatoes. Very good!
