Absolutely terrible customer service. I live 6 miles away and have spent hundreds if not thousands with them in the past. From now on I'll drive to tulsa to OOP. Rude, short, condescending, and extremely uncooperative to small businesses.

****Consumer beware****Took a weed eater to Bixby Outdoor Power Equipment at 7600 E. 151st. It needed a new priming bulb so I thought why not just have them do a tuneup while it's there. It's always run great but can't hurt. They had it a month. When I got it back it ran great but I noticed a fuel leak. I thought it was the seal on the gas cap so I ordered a replacement cap, it was cheap. Well that didn't fix it. So after a closer look, I was pretty sure it was the grommet where the fuel lines go in the tank was leaking. I really felt like they should have caught that because they have to pull that out to get to the fuel filter in the tank. So I take it back to get that replaced. 3 more weeks later. I call to check on it and they tell me it needs a new carburetor and the grommet. I tell the young lady. It was not in for that. It was running perfect, it just leaked fuel. So now they are trying to sell me a carburetor that'll be over $50 when all it needed was a $5 grommet. I said I'll just pick it up. When I go to pick it up they tell me they have the carburetor off. I said put it back on and I'll pick it up. I come back and pick it up. I step outside to start it and the throttle cable is disconnected. I go back in and I said put it back just like it was when I dropped it off. This young tech comes out to get it and when he's walking off tells me I should just buy a new weed eater. He brings it back and I step out to start it and now it will just barely idle. Remember, it was running like new when I dropped it off. I talked to the owner and he defended this guy and told me to go somewhere else. Never tried to make things right. Save yourself some money and never go there to have anything serviced.

I had a great experience with BOPE. I've tried a lot of different places and BOPE is, by far, the best. They offer reasonable prices and excellent service. I was contacted by the mechanic prior to performing any work and approved the job before it commensed. Due to my ZTR's particular issues, it would have been easy to sell me expensive parts. But, they just turned a couple of bolts and fixed the problem. Saved me, quite literally, several thousand dollars. I highly recommend BOPE.

Bixby Outdoor Power Equipment is not a dealer for my brand of lawnmower, however they replaced a part with an "after market" part which is what any repair shop would do. The part failed twice within a short time. They then ordered an "original equipment" part from the factory and repaired the lawnmower at no extra cost to me. I am well satisfied.

My experience was very similar to Ben's. After I confirmed three times that they would call me before doing any repairs, the final bill was several times higher than what he initially promised. He replaced things (without my permission) that I know for a fact did not require replacement, and then threatened to "just wait 30 days and sell the mower," if I didn't pay up. This guy is a first-rate scumbag, and I would love to see him go under. In addition, I have to question his hygiene given the fact that you can't get within 10 feet of him without being gagged by the heady aroma of turtle cage, homeless people, and rotting fruit. There are a lot of other shops in the area that do better work both faster and cheaper. On top of this, his business practices are like something out of a movie... remember the mechanics in National Lampoon's Vacation? Yep.. that's about right.

If I could give this place zero stars it would be more appropriate. I took my Husqavarna riding mower to Bixby outdoor power equipment for a tune up and blade sharpening. They initially told me the price was $59 until I brought it then I guess they realized it was a riding mower not a push mower and the price went up to $109. They told me that price included oil,oil filter, fuel filter, carb clean, spark plug, air filter, blade sharpening and labor, and it would take about a week. 2 weeks later I called to get an update because I hadn"t heard anything. The owner got on the phone and told me that the carburetor just came in that morning and they were going to install it that day. I was shocked because the mower ran just fine with the existing carb, and they didn't call to get authorization to replace it. He told me that they couldn't get it to run with the existing carb so they needed to replace it. This was b.s. because it was running just fine. I begrudgingly agreed to replacing it even though it didn't need it. He called me 2 days later to tell me it was ready to be picked up and I asked how much the total was. I was expecting $109 + $50 for the carb which was the price he told me, but they said $328. I was floored and angry. I asked why so much and he told me that they had to replace the belts, blades, and carb, and all other parts that included the item mentioned before that was supposed to be included in the tune-up. (The belts were new, I replaced them at the end of last season) We had a few words over the phone because they NEVER called to authorize any repairs. At the end of the phone conversation I asked for some relief from the bill because they didn't call me to get approval and he wouldn't budge. He then told me that if I didnt pay the entire balance then he would let it set for 30 days then sell my mower. I freaked out and told him I was on my way... we had more word when I got to his shop and he lied to me and said that it was against the law for him to let a mower out of the shop that wasn't running correctly or with blades that could be sharpened. He completely made this up and said that he could get into trouble. This was a complete lie... he then told me that he should have charged me $400-$500 for the repairs because that's what it actually cost... I got loud and said "NO, WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS CALLED ME TO AUTHORIZE REPAIRS." I demanded an apology for the way he spoke on the phone and in the store. He apologized for speaking to me that way but still wouldn't budge on the bill until I told him that I was a disabled Veteran. He only took %10 off of the total bill. I either had to pay him almost $280 or he was going to sell my mower. At one point in the conversation he told me that he would take off the belts, blades, and carb and push it onto my trailer to take home if I refused to pay him. And he told me that I was also responsible for the additional labor to remove those parts... really...He also couldn't put my old parts back on because he said they trashed them..... please think twice before bringing anything to this crook. He lied about laws and never called to do get approval for any repairs above and beyond the initial tune-up. It was my right to refuse repairs if I didnt want them done. It should have been my call...not his... shady business...His own daughter that works behind the counter was extremely apologetic for his behavior......stay clear of this guy
