How can one small town have so much bad food? It's not like there isn't anything in the town. The art deco architecture of the high school, the stately homes that dot the tree lined streets. The world headquarters for Conoco Phillips. For the purposes of fairness, let's set aside the obvious garbage food that adorns Washington Street. In the downtown area, the food choices are so limited, and what is there, is tired and bad. Myself and a work colleague stumbled upon Bambino's. Refusing to suffer the indignity that is the pizzeria across the street. Trying to avoid going around the corner to the subway sandwich chain, we opted for Bambino's.The restaurant was dimly lit. I think it shared the space with other businesses. I'm not sure. The doorway was confusing. I don't think there was a kitchen. I think they were making everything at the front on dorm room appliances. We ordered a grilled cheese and a Reuben. We split both and barely ate either. The grilled cheese was not grilled. The bread was warmed to a soft, browned, soggy facsimile of a sandwich. The cheese had absolutely no flavor. Food service cheese at its best. The grilled cheese at the nursing home has nothing to fear in the race to the bottom. The Reuben was more of a New Jersey sloppy Joe. The bread wasn't toasted or grilled. The cheese wasn't melted. This is where any similarity to anything from New Jersey ends. The corned beef (if this was pastrami, who would know - it was flavorless) was cold, the sauerkraut was in name only. There was nothing tart or crunchy about this.In a town of bad food, Bambino's ranks itself right there in the midst.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Very nice place, come in, have a seat and they'll be with you. It's very clean, laid back, has a home vibe. Our waitress took our drink order and gave us a minute to decide what we wanted. I ordered chicken salad wrap (you can have the sandwiches hot or cold and as a wrap) with chips. My husband had the roast beef sandwich, chips, and potato salad. The potato salad was delicious! My wrap was stuffed, not in a bad fall apart way. As a bonus we got two free gooey bars. Yummy!!! Definitely a great place to stop to get a sandwich and relax.

The owner is great in all aspects of the diner. Food is fresh prepared and it is cooked by ownerWant to go every week and see what the chef/owner has prepared for the day. He has sandwich and soup of the day. The chef changes the menu daily. Don't miss going. In my words - It's fantastic

This experience was pretty dismal. I was excited to have a salad bar. Unfortunately it was severely lacking and you could tell it had been sitting unattended for hours. The sandwich I ordered was barely edible. Cheap lunch meat. The rest of my party was equally unimpressed with their meals and we decided not to go back. Too bad, because the atmosphere was kind of cute. I was really hoping for a great sandwich place.
