Decided to give this place a shot since it was close. Ordered the brisket burger with onion rings. Lady on the phone sounded surprised someone was ordering something and gave me a "it'll be 10 minutes I guess" and hung up.Walked in the diner and the guy working was nice enough but he kept having to tell the cook how to make the burger. The burger itself was very dry and overcooked. It's supposed to have bacon jam and mayo on it. Nope. No sauce in sight. They also omitted brisket and replaced it with some of the fattiest pulled pork I've ever eaten. Onion rings were heavily battered but not an ounce of seasoning was used. Incredibly bland and let down by this experience.

Greasy , unappealing brisket. Strange baked beans with red peppers. Inedible potato salad. Floppy texas toast.

Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. Hubby wanted more baked beans to go. The smoked sausage was the best ever and the brisket burger was yum-e. Worth the two miles off the freeway. Just go. You're welcome.

Archie's diner is tucked away in the A to Z shopping center in Alma-- situated right next to the Fashion store. Before you can even step inside, the smell of their delicious BBQ'd meats just permeate the parking lot. You can't help but to get hungry before you even hit the door. The entrance is situated right off the sidewalk of the A to Z shopping center. You're greeted with two different side by side doors-- both of them go to the restaurant, so just pick one. Once inside, seat yourself. The inside is decorated in a legitimate country diner style. Photos of John Wayne, Texas Rangers, and other icons of the era adorn the walls. The tables are expertly handcrafted farm style, painted white with standard diner chairs. The tables are spacious and dotted with chalk menu tents with some handwritten specials-- including $2 sides like chips, green beans, and others. The waitstaff are locals and are graciously kind and offer their sweet Southern hospitality whilst taking your food and drink order or just checking up on you. The ambience is what you'd expect of a small, local community hub-- locals sitting around talking, eating, music playing, TV on-- but the wonderful BBQ smells are something to adore all on their own. The menus are excitable diner laminates and feature both breakfast, lunch, and dinner fare on the front and back respectively. There is a wide variety of omelette, pancakes, sandwiches, bbq plates, and various American, Down-home cooking and BBQ options. The prices are absolutely reasonable-- with some crunchy round nacho chips and homemade cheese dip coming in around $4. Their BBQ Brisket salad was great-- the meat and their homemade BBQ-Ranch salad dressing being the real star of the show. The salad itself was a little small, but I was really going after the great meat anyway so it worked out well for me. The BBQ Brisket salad was a mere $8 and was well worth it for the price. Their hamburgers and BBQ sandwiches sounded excellent and really are probably the stars of the menu. The Philly Cheesesteak sounded excellent. They also have a Blue Plate special-- ask about it. I'll be sure to return in the near future when I'm out this way and try out one of their more signature menu items like the BBQ sandwich or cheeseburger-- but even with ordering a salad at a BBQ diner; I had a great experience. All in all-- this is a 5 star experience in Alma, Arkansas. This establishment meets all the stars for what they're doing-- they aren't trying to be anything they're not. This is a hometown diner that features delicious bbq and hometown fare; so stop in and get some of that sweet Southern Hospitality paired with some delicious vittles.

Absolutely the worst food I ever had anywhere. First of all the waitress was wearing dirty clothes and looked dirty. My friend and I wanted only water. We were given bottles of water from Sam's and were charged $3 each for it. It was not listed on the menu nor were we told about the $3 charge until we paid the bill. I ordered eggs and potatoes and bacon. The eggs were overdone and had black on them like they were fried in a dirty pan. The potatoes dripped with oil and looked old like they were re-heated several times. My friend ordered a hamburger and fries. The fries looked like the potatoes I had...greasy an old. The hamburger was paper thin and the bun was so squashed it looked like someone sat on it. Food tasted horrible. I will NEVER go back there again.

Took forever to get my food and when I finally received it it was nasty and inedible practically I also ordered cheese sticks and the lady brought out a gallon of something and she even had no idea what it was and told me to see what it was, the cook and waitress got into an argument as well and started yelling at each other both threatening to just walk out of the place. If I could put 0 stars I would, terrible not to mention the ladies were in spaghetti strap tank tops and shorts that I would not consider shorts, if I wanted to go see that I would go to hooters. Do not recommend at all

Hands down some of the worst BBQ I've had. I ordered a BBQ potato- what I received was microwave mashed potatoes, fatty/chewy pork, and some nasty shredded cheese. I could go in to detail about everyone's meal, but I'll spare y'all. One of the waitresses was nice, but they mostly lacked customer service.. but they could have been having an off day. I will say, pricing was extremely high for what we got.

Playing a golf event down in Arkansas and was looking for a mom and pops bbq shop and found a solid one! Now I don't post much at all regarding food but I have to give major props to this place! It's a little hole in the wall diner in the middle of a small town in Alma, Arkansas but it might be one of the brisket burgers I've had in a while! Small little place in a small little town, with good people, and even better food. The lady who served us was kind, funny, helpful, and honest! Definitely will come back when I'm in town if any of y'all are ever in the area, check it out!
