I love ARF Tulsa! They help so many cats and dogs, which is sorely needed in our area.I am a kitten foster for ARF, and Laura, who oversees the cat program, is amazingly supportive and caring. Fostering for ARF is easy, and fosters get to talk to potential adopters to ensure it's a good fit.I've fostered for a few different orginazations, and ARF has become my favorite. My husband and I are new to Tulsa. We've been looking to get our goldendoodle Hank a brother for a while. We came across a beautiful blue tick coon hound puppy named Vedder (now named Cash) on Petfinder that was through ARF. Unfortunately, it was during the whole pandemic quarantine, so things were a little slow. However, it was totally worth it! The vetting process is pretty thorough, but that's absolutely amazing! Most places just adopt out animals to anyone, and that's not good at all. It's super important that these animals go to a good, safe and responsible home. Often times an animal will get adopted to someone who won't neuter, give medication, make them stay outside or even return them to a shelter. Sometimes they're returned to a kill shelter and are euthanized. So I'm super happy that the folks at ARF do their absolute best to ensure the animals they rescue will never know a shelter again. They're truly animal advocates. Honestly, if they weren't, I'd be skeptical. The staff are super friendly. One lady I spoke to during the interview process was so nice that we chatted for over an hour as if we were old friends. Also, the foster parents are wonderful! The foster mom for Cash was just wonderful and super knowledgeable about his breed. She would text me updates and photos of Cash on a regular basis until he was officially ours. With the low adoption fee, the had our pup was up-to-date on all of his shots and even neutered for us. The foster mom gave us tons of food and toys so he would be comfortable with stuff that was familiar with. Now our little family is perfect!! Our Cash is now a happy and healthy boy who loves his brother. Plus we feel good about adopting from them, because that means we also helped another fur baby that's in need of getting out of a kill shelter. Thank you ARF for all that you do for all of the fur babies in need out there!! Highly recommend ARF!!!
