We took our baby in to get her ears cropped and the staff was very helpful getting her in for an appointment within just a couple of days after I called to inquire. Kam, the vet nurse was very helpful in explaining the entire procedure and going over every detail. We were to bring her back 3 days after the procedure to check on her wraps and the staff called in between that time just to make sure our baby was ok and to see if we had any questions before we were to come in. Recommend this place 100%

Brought my bunny here a couple months ago to figure out the gender of my bunny, great service and nice atmosphere but the so called "exotic animal specialist" completely got the gender of my bunny wrong. Today we took the bunny to a different vet to get him fixed and they told us today that he was not a girl but that he was a boy. The "specialist" told us that he was a girl and we then named her Caroline. It's been about 3-4 months since we went and all that time we thought that our bunny was a girl, but that's wrong. We were unbelievably disappointed and I think it's very unprofessional of the specialist to get the gender wrong when it was their job to do these types of things. Other than that it was a great experience but they're only getting one star.

I cannot give enough stars here. Everyone at AMSH is THE NICEST person you will ever meet (they just get nicer and nicer) and while I've only seen Dr. Vanderhoof, it's enough for me to know that I chose the best place to bring my Alfie. I am a new pet mom and she always has time for my newbie questions. And she and all the vet techs love on my dog so much - I mean he's cute, but still, they are so so nice to him. Ok, so they are nice, that's great, but also, they remind you about stuff and they call to follow up and you can't beat their hours. I had a dumb worry about Alfie this past weekend and they fit me in that day. I can 100% recommend AMSH for your furry family members (I'm sure they see feathered and scaly ones, too).

Dr. Pfeiffer is very unethical. I take writing negative reviews very seriously, in fact, this is the first negative review I've written on any person, organization or clinic. My accusations have been substantiated personally. Firstly, she will up charge, for example, her clinic suggested I go with the more expensive allergy medication on a monthly basis, when in fact there was a less expensive option approximately $100 less. Furthermore, I was able to verify that it was not necessarily needed monthly depending on the severity of my pets allergies. In other words, if my pets allergies did not return, there was no need to continue getting monthly treatments, although, I would receive monthly notifications that my pet needed more shots. In addition, Dr. Pfeiffer was verbally deceitful directly in conversation with me personally, in which her claims were proven to be untrue and in which she knew firsthand. In fact, the outright deception was of her making. Dr. Pfeiffer brings shame to this medical field. Although I cannot prove it, I would imagine the majority of veterinarians do not operate their business at such low standards. I will NEVER darken DR. Pfeiffer's doorway EVER AGAIN and in fact, I would not suggest Dr. Pfeiffer to my WORST enemy. In closing, the primary purpose of this review is to encourage others to ensure the veterinarians treating their pets are indeed ethical, and have your pets best interest at heart. I'm sure those reading this can agree when I say my pets are my children and their medical care is of the utmost importance to me.

I would give in zero stars if possible. We have four animals that will not be returning this Includes grooming. They definitely put profit over pets. My dog needs apoquel so please tell me why your prices are so high? It was 500 dollars just for initial visit and now 65 dollars for 15 pills. I did my research and found out how much you mark these up. I called a local pharmacy that can fill the script for much less just need vet authorization. Well guess who won't give it? I request 5 pills in the meantime until they hear back from owner. I now get charged 2 dollars extra a pill. Do you do this to everyone who request meds a different way? Very very disappointed in this place after switching!

THIS PLACE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT UR ANIMAL IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY. I came in with a animal emergency, a puppy dying. I don't get paid until Monday, the lady at the front desk looked at me like I was dumb and had no ounce of heart at all while I could barely breathe because a 9 week old puppy was dying. She couldn't help me with anything, I had to literally point again at my car and put more emphasis A PUPPIES DYING what amI supposed to do ?? And after pushing and pushing she finally gave me help, two numbers to call. Then I contoured up enough money for the puppy and I called back and even tho it was an EMERGENCY she kept trying to put me on hold. Then finally told me it would be $50 to just begin and that's not to mention any treatment that might take place. THIS PLACE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY HERE.

Dr Cheryl Pfeffer is hands down the BEST ever. Met her for the first time when our 7 y/o white boxer, Dewite One, became gravely I'll. She was so kind. We decided the next day after our visit with her to have him put down as he had spleen cancer that had metastasized to his liver - he had shown no signs of being sick until 5 or 6 days before we lost him- she got down on the floor with us as she gave him the injection to carry him to the Rainbow Bridge. She cried right along beside us. Eight months later, Dewite One's 10 y/o mama Lucy Bella, got sick with pancreatic cancer. Same thing, Dr Pfeffer got down in the floor and cried the same as she did for our Dewite.

I would like to eco Jill C. from Dallas review. We experienced the same treatment from Dr. Pfeffer, the owner of this clinic. She also accused me of calling her staff "stupid" and calling them "liars." She says the same things when replying to ANY negative review- she makes up things that never happened to discredit the reviewer. Yet she uses the SAME responses over and over. She would have you believe that nearly ALL of the negative reviewers on GOOGLE reviews have called her staff "stupid" or accused them of lying or for being "abusive". It's ridiculous. Here is my review from Google...This clinic charges excessive prices (compared to other area vets) and uses scare tactics to frighten you into consenting to unnecessary tests. When a Urinalysis determines the presence of bacteria consistent with a UTI, you do not try to frighten the client by ordering X-rays and ultrasound "just to make sure it isn't cancer." This is the type of thing they do routinely and is against the proper Standard of Care practiced by honest veterinarians. We spent $1000 at this clinic and the "owner" claims on my Google review that I "declined most recommendations." What does that tell you about the costs involved in taking your pet to this clinic? Everything I did decline proved to be completely medically unnecessary. They call their standard of care the "gold standard" for a reason. It is YOUR gold.My girl is 7 and has not been spayed. They frightened my daughter by telling us that in intact females, they wanted to "rule out" cancer, bladder stones, and other specific conditions related to "possibilities" in intact female dogs (instead of simply treating the problem I came in for). So lots of expensive tests and unnecessary procedures were "recommended."The urinalysis showed the presence of bacteria consistent with a UTI. The symptoms my dog was experiencing also confirmed it. The antibiotics given for her weight were less than the standard called for (confirmed by a different clinic). They refused to order a refill unless I brought her back in and they got to examine her again and charge for another full office visit. The vet decided to run a tear production test. It must be run for a full 60 seconds to be valid and the strip must touch the eyeball unobstructed. The vet placed the strip on top of a ball of gunk and hair that was in our dog's eye. I pointed this out but the vet said it "didn't matter". Then I noticed that she was not timing the test. So I timed it myself. At 40 seconds she pulled the strip off the ball of eye gunk. I told her the test was not run to completion at only 40 seconds. So she hastily put the strip back on the eye gunk for another 20 seconds and I had to tell her myself when the time was up. Not surprisingly, there were no tears produced. The vet suggested that we take scrapings and culture the skin lesions to determine what it could be. I asked why could she not simply use her experience and treat what it likely was. But she said that was not the "gold standard" of treatment. I declined spending hundreds to culture the skin bacteria. Experience should count for something. If you have seen the same issue 500 other times, do you need to order an expensive test to confirm it?We were told that my dog had allergies and I needed to switch her to a very expensive food that they carry, filled with ingredients known to be severe allergens in canines. I was told "not all dogs are allergic to those things" and said she was "not a veterinary nutritionist". But she gave me nutritional advice and declared my dog had food allergies when she admits to having no advanced training in the treatment she was prescribing. I declined to feed my dog a food packed with allergens as a treatment for food allergies. Now I had spent over $1000, most of it for unnecessary tests, X-rays, improper diagnosis, and unnecessary office visits and our sweet girl was STILL sick. Took her to a different vet who said she had a UTI but needed a higher antibiotic dose for her weight. Now we have a well dog.A week later a letter came saying they would not treat my dog again and that I had caused "problems" every time. Questioning them in any way it seems is unacceptable. Was never going back anyway. BUYER BEWARE.If you look at "Response from owner" on my Google review, you will notice NONE of my concerns were addressed. She simply MADE UP things I never said and tries to present me (and EVERY negative Google reviewer) as a jerk. My review is factual and without personal attacks. The "owner" would like you to believe that every negative reviewer is abusive or she "has no record" of them coming in. Organize the reviews by most negative and you will see her pattern. She does not like an informed clientele and if you question the ethics of how you are treated, you will be labeled "abusive." She tries to discredit the reviewer so you will not listen to the facts presented and words her replies to make it seem like SHE is the victim.

Dr Pfeffer in response to your comments:There are several comments you made which you do not recall correctly and others which are a flat out lie. I'll chalk it up to accurate information being lost in translation between you and your staff as I never once cursed at anyone or uttered so much as one single curse word or called anyone stupid. Ever...I also NEVER told you a co-worker raved about you or your staff at the first visit or at any visit following. If you recall the first time you saw Maggie it was due to an emergency situation. The only reason I chose your practice was because it was literally across the street from my home at the time and not even a one minute drive. After the fact (like you mentioned) I MYSELF raved about you and your tech about how gentle and caring you both were with Maggie. That is something I will forever be grateful for and nothing will ever change that. My co-worker responded by saying that she never had any problems with the vet but ended up switching to a vet her friend used in Catoosa because and I quote "the front office couldn't ever keep anything straight". FYI she lives at 101st and Yale and works in the same vicinity. She said the experience with your front desk was so bad that she was more than willing to make the drive to and from Catoosa. In my opinion that says A LOT especially when she hadn't experienced any issue with the vet(s) she'd seen at your practice. Dr. Pfeffer not once did you attempt to resolve the 8/19-8/20 situation but rather pick up the phone, scream at me, threaten a baseless restraining order and hang up on me multiple times. The one time I was actually able to get more than a word out during YOUR RANT you said no I will not open it (the email & attachments) and look! It was included and we will mail them as well and hung up without even confirming the address you have on file like I'd asked. Other than the calls with you consisting of your one sided rant I never said more than hi, my name and requested either you or the manager before I was hung up on. For you to say that each call was made to harass you is 100% false. Saying that you guys tried to resolve the issue each time couldn't be further from the truth.Bottom line what you and your practice took issue with was my pointing out several mistakes and inconsistencies in medical records all of which took place over over a period of only 6 months or less as there was never any aggression, insults or screaming on my part. Only yours. Your response is case in point... Had your front office staff been properly trained, management taken ownership and an apology been made(especially with regard to the rabies vaccination incident) when inaccurate information and/or mistakes were brought to your attention we wouldn't be here. It isn't the receptionists fault or their responsibility it's the managers and ultimately yours as the business owner. The manager i dealt with Is about 95% to blame. Rather than de-escalate these situations she escalated them to another level. I hope no one else has to go through what I did for something as simple as accurate and complete medical records especially in instances such as Maggie's when it's needed to get their family member appropriate end of life care. That and that alone is the SOLE purpose of this negative review. I too wish you well and can only hope that one day you and your staff see the value in being truthful, taking ownership of mistakes, and work to resolve issues rather than escalate them making already difficult situations worse...
