5th Street Cafe

Cute little diner! It felt like stepping back in time. Very crowded and loud but worth the wait for the simply delicious, country, home cooked breakfast. Service was good considering the amount of tables to wait on.

We had food it was food. Bathroom was filthy. Didn't see the kitchen. Didn't get sick. Wtf. Been months since we were there. Felt the need to warn you.

When we visited, it wasn't exceptionally busy.FoodCoffee was promptly delivered to our table. It arrived hot and tasted pretty good.The ham n cheese omlet arrived fresh and hot. They were out of chalula hot sauce. Lol. The omlet was okay. Quite greasy. The potatoes were cubed and tasted deep fried. Not a bad thing. Just an observation. The combined tastes were pretty good.The Denver omlet was very good. Overall The 5th street diner met expectations. The food is good but served with huge portions. Super cute little cafe if you're looking for breakfast, especially if you don't want fast food or a chain. It was right down the street from our hotel. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was DELICIOUS. It was fresh and I can't believe the low prices. They could definitely raise their prices because it's worth it. The waffle was fresh and fluffy and the syrup was good. The eggs were piping hot. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

A small brunch hotspot in Downtown Fort Wayne run by a small team of hospitality professionals. All menu items are reasonably priced and are large enough to share with 2-3 people. The burritos are huge and filling. Each one comes with freshly prepared red and green salsas. Since it was my first time, they let me sample their queso with my burrito. I ordered the breakfast burrito that came with five eggs, chorizo, and cheddar cheese that was accompanied with tater tots.

The breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon is amazing! I didn't think it looked very big it is STUFFED with meat and cheese. Definitely worth getting.

My husband and I are traveling through Arkansas for our 5th anniversary and we found this little cafe and boy were we surprised! The food was incredible! The service was fantastic and our food was out in a matter of minutes! The bacon was so delicious and cooked just perfectly. It had such a cozy small town atmosphere and we will definitely be visiting this cafe again if we're ever in the area!

This new restaurant was brought to my attention by a friend of mine. So, after some Farmer's Market and antique shopping I decided to stop in for lunch.It definitely has a "cafe" feel to it. Nothing fancy but clean, which I appreciate.Considering it's a smaller restaurant they have a pretty good size menu. If you like soda made with pure cane sugar they serve "stubborn" and it was pretty tasty.So we order the chips and queso dip. When they arrived it was obvious the chips were straight from a bag I could have picked up at Walmart so I didn't have much hope for the queso dip but boy was I wrong! These queso dip was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I would absolutely return just to have some more dip.We also order grilled fish taco and Thai style tacos. After going back to check with kitchen as to what Thai style was the waitress did a nice job explaining it. So good we ordered it. Only to be told a few minutes later they didn't have it that day. You think they would have told her that when she was asking about it. Oh well. We both got the grilled fish tacos (street style) and were not disappointed. These were seriously flavorful taco. The beans were just so so.Overall, a good visit and I'll definitely return.

[Update: What a difference staff makes! We went back a second time and had the opposite experience from the first. This time, the bacon was burned, the biscuit was mushy, and the eggs were not as good as the first time.We were the only ones in the restaurant and our server/cook went outside for a smoke and to check her cellphone. We waited quite a while for her to come back in so we could pay our bill. We wish Sam had been there this time - he and his cooking were great.]We've been traveling for the last six months and these were the best scrambled eggs we've had during that time! Everything else was good too, including the service - very friendly and pleasant. We plan on returning here as our "go-to" place for breakfast when we're in the area.
