The builders I spoke to were cocky and borderline rude. They embodied the expression where someone [does something else] and tells you it's raining. They routinely denied us access to the house (during legit business hours), making it impossible to conduct inspections during the 10-day period in the contract. When we got a chance to inspect it, we found out why.House was gorgeous.. until you looked closely: Seemed like nothing was square; doors hung improperly; window frames were so bad some didn't shut; water pressure was a joke; no drainage; fence used palette-quality wood and was broken many places; half of the attic lacked insulation; everywhere you looked, there were things that were broken and covered up.These guys are assembly-line hacks, that do poor work (while hiding it with caulk and paint) and use shoddy materials. I wouldn't recommend them to my mother in law.

When someone purchases a brand new home for $350,000, they don't expect the roof to leak within 6 years. When the 6-year old roof leaks, and your builder provided you with a 10-year warranty, you expect that 10-year warranty to cover the roof.Imagine my surprise when my 6-year old roof leaked (causing $4,515.94 in damage to the inside of my home), and 4-Corners said I had NO 10-YEAR WARRANTY!After 2 days of conversation, 4-Corners agreed I did have a 10-year warranty, but it would not cover the roof. 4-Corners sent out their roofer to inspect my roof. The 4-Corners roofer admitted the roof was installed incorrectly around the chimney - in fact, his exact words were, "They skipped a step."After the 4-Corners roofer repaired the damage, I received a roof repair bill for $1,200. My insurance company charged me $1,000 deductible for the damage to the inside of my home, and I lost countless hours of income staying home from work to deal with 5 different repair companies. Not to mention my son lost his bedroom for a month! This water damage is clearly due to 4-Corner's negligence during installation of roof flashing around the chimney. 4-Corners is not doing the right thing by standing behind their work. I firmly believe 4-Corners owes me a minimum of $1,200 for the roof repair, and up to $4,515.94 for the damage they did to my home.

I was VERY happy with 4corners until the sale was over and time for warranty. Now it's 6 months after the sale and reality sets in. Getting warranty work is hard, getting it done right is virtually impossible. There are two people doing warranty work for 3 home brands with the same owner. Warranty work done by 4corners has to be redone by one of their trades. For example their guy broke and chipped 5 tiles changing out one cracked one. Typical.Condescending brick guy tells you over the phone why you are an idiot in his diagnosis without actually seeing it. Plumbers who's work lasts a couple of days when they finally show up.Much more but the gist is it's like a clown act.

Purchased many homes in my life. 4corners clearly has the worst quality, cheapest contractors, and cheapest materials used in the construction of their homes. You won't find them until about 6 to 8 months after your purchase. We have water pipes freezing, garage door opener not working twice now, plumbing leaking inside the walls, AC unit in the attic installed improperly and leaked all over the kitchen through the light fixtures. The driveway slope is still sliding away from the house. Real bad land shaping. Unfortunately we are stuck with the home. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else.

If u purchase in Asheville ask about crime rate. Several Cars, sheds have been broken into and trailers stolen from driveways in last yr. Happening in middle of night. Bought a home from 4 corners and have lived here just over 20 months. It would be easy to bash this company but instead I am going to tell you just facts. If you do think about buying a home from 4Cornershomes please do your research and don't fall into the appearance of the staged homes trap. If you want to get it straight don't be afraid to knock on some doors and ask people that are living in the community about the homes. Now for the facts: Ashley (salesperson) is wonderful and probably the best thing this company has to offer. Most others are nice until they close and then trying to get a quick response, especially from warranty is challenging. The homes look nice on the outside and they offer good amenities. The home buying process was easy as was the financing portion. After we moved in the concrete had a black webbing look on it and I was told it would go away in time, it has been almost 2 years and it's still there. After pouring the concrete one of the contractors rolled a dolly and walked over the wet concrete leaving imprints on the patio. 4corners did pay for staining but the imprints can still be seen. Also, the front patio had black marks all over it and I stained it myself ($500). Be sure to document everything you add and don't rely on the designer to keep track (yes they are supposed to). They forgot my dining room crown molding, rocker switches, flourescent lights in garage, rain shower head in MB. They said they would fix but the prices had doubled and triples on the rocker switches and the closing would be delayed. They did put in the rain shower head because it was on the list they had. Problems after I moved in: Added a shed when purchased and the electric went out after 14 months (cost $700). Stone on the fireplace and outside corners fell off (see pictures). It took them over a month to fix the fireplace and two hours after they fixed, the stone fell off again. 5 months later I am replacing the stone as it has fallen off for a third time and the people installing said there was no back webbing for the concrete to bind to and they just tried to put it onto the drywall. they also said the concrete wasn't mixed properly. Same with outside corners, I am having it redone now (cost $1,750). The drainage is a nightmare, they kept saying they were going to fix the flooding in the backyard and after 3 attempts just made it worse (I fixed myself, cost ($3,000)). drains good now, why couldn't they have done this? Drainage in front of my house is a disaster, the pics you see is what it looks like 365 days a year and 4Corners has stated it is not their problem. And now they say there is a underground spring under my property (why wasn't this disclosed, hard to believe they didn't know with all the digging and construction going on). After a heavy rain my dining room was flooded (dormers weren't sealed properly). they did come out right away and fix this issue, even after the 1 year warranty, no problems since. Now for the latest: air was not coming out of my vents in the back part of the house. I called a heating company and they came out thinking it just needed adjusting but turns out all of my duct work had fallen and was kinked preventing air flow (cost: $600). The company that fixed it said it wasn't installed right and 2 vents weren't even hooked to ducts. This should not be happening to a house that is under 2 years old. So far, repair costs of things that shouldn't need repaired have cost me close to $8,000. The houses might be nice to look at but the poor workmanship by the subpar contractors are poor at best. Every time someone comes out to work on something they tell me it wasn't installed properly or the materials used were poor quality. Buy at your own risk and do the research, and if you do buy from 4 corners, constantly check on your house while it is being build (daily basis).

I'm still dealing with issues ranging from shower tile that leaked and was installed improperly and HVAC issues where vent and exhaust pipes for the furnace was not installed properly. Their concrete, framing, drywall, HVAC subcontractors are all the lowest paid and are all related or buddies with people in the company. They put the sales force between the potential home owners and the people making the calls on how to price changes to the designs and then just make the changes too expensive for you to do so they can get out of doing any design changes. You'll never actually get a set of plans so you can adequately review the design of your home. And you'll end up with a sub par product in the end. Don't believe any of the good reviews on here as at least 2 of them either work for or are in relationships with people currently working for the company.

I built my dream house in the ridge and couldn't be happier with my choice. Not only did I go from a tiny city lot to a whole acre. I also got my dream kitchen with a real vented wood hood and a huge walk in shower in the master bathroom. I had shop for over a year for the perfect neighborhood and this one has it all. Pool, basketball courts, trees, creeks, other beautiful homes to look at, fun neighbors and beautiful sunsets. What more could you ask for? The building process was so surprisingly easy! I had the options for my entire house picked out in just a couple hours. I was very impressed to see during construction that my foundation was post-tension and the framing wasn't done with with sub par lumber. All the studs were solid. None of that finger jointed studs you see those cheap builders use. The overall quality of my house is awesome and I feel like I got my money's worth and then some. You shop around and I bet you won't find a better deal then 4Corners Homes. Thank you for making my dream house a reality!
