Zoo Lights is a nice festive holiday activity. The entry fee isn't too crazy compared to entry to TBG. The zoo is small, but I like that. Animals are not out which is think is probably best for them. There are food and drink vendors, none of which we stoped at. But they sell big pretzels, and items of that sort. The schedule is new night so you have plenty to choose from. The times entry helps mitigate humongous crowds, so walking in was easy.

I love that the animals are not put away while people come enjoy the zoo lights here. Where I live, the animals are not out and about, and it is just a Xmas light walk. Here we got to see the beautiful lights along with some critters, most exciting of which was an elephant. I was not pleased with the one guy with his super strong flashlight constantly shining it at the elephant, but some folks just don't know how to be respectful of the animals. We got our tickets ahead of time, which really expedited the entry. The line for getting tickets on-site was kind of long, so get yours ahead of time and beat the crowd. Parking is shared by the various businesses, so expect to walk a little ways to get to the zoo entrance. Inside the gates it is like any other day at the zoo, with all stores, food vendors, and exhibits open for you to walk through. The night we went one section of the zoo was closed off, though it didn't say why. They also had a dance group performing at the center stage, which was neat.

My son and I went to see Zoo Lights on a very cold night after Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised by how many people were there. Since we already had our tickets (thanks Yelp Elite) we bypassed all the lines and was inside right away. Having been to Reid Park Zoo before we knew the zoo wasn't very large and with it being in the 40's we knew our chances of seeing animals wasn't very high, but it was a fun experience nonetheless. The lights were very festive and we were impressed with all the different animals they were able to recreate with rope lights. The TEP alligator was probably one of the most detailed ones. My son loved the Pokemon lights. We did see a few goats, some peacocks roosting in the trees and a sleeping lemur. Back near the elephants they had lights that were synced to the music they were playing over the speakers, so that was fun to sit and watch for a bit. They do close off portions of the zoo, so the area with the lights is smaller than the normal zoo. On our night there wasn't anyone performing in the stage, but it's fun when there is. We warmed our hands near the fire pits set up for roasting marshmallows before getting a souvenir at the gift shop and heading home. The event was fun, but I don't think I would have paid full price to get in. Our family of four would have cost over $30. Taking a leisurely pace and spending time in the gift shop we were done in about 90 mins. Maybe coming before Christmas and having more vendors and performers would have given it more pazazz, but it's still a fun event to check out at least once.

What a great way to set up the zoo for the holidays. Millions of beautiful lights decorating the zoo. From the entrance all the way to the polar bear displays the lights are everywhere. A lot of different animals are displayed with lights, and with beautiful holiday decorations. At the entrance they also have a place where you can purchase alcoholic beverages that'll keep you nice and warm during a cold Tucson night at the zoo lights. It is definitely family-friendly and adults and kids of all ages could come and enjoy this wonderful experience. I recommend getting there early to enjoy the entire zoo. You can take approximately one hour to get through everything but if you want to double back and see your favorite once again you will definitely have enough time. In the center of the zoo they have a nice grassy area where they have different performers to entertain the families. It is a great way to spend a whole holiday season with your family enjoying the beautiful lights and of course the beautiful Reid Park zoo.

This event left a lot to be desired... the zoo was small and this being my first time going to the zoo in Tucson I felt let down. Upon arriving we found the entrance and the ticket taker seemed unaware of the Yelp ticket holders and what to do with them. Once we explained, we proceeded through the entrance and there was no clear direction on where to go or what you do. We came to a hot chocolate/snack table but didn't partake. I brought the requested toys to donate but never found or saw any where to leave them so I walked through the entire zoo with them and actually never found any place to leave them. I think this is more of a family and small children activity rather than a single or friend or adult activity but I enjoyed the lights. The animals were scarce but I saw the elephant and the rhino. I don't think I would attend this again as it just wasn't well structured and I was done within thirty minutes when it took me thirty minutes to get there in the first place.

What a light show for the Holidays. Parking during construction was a bit confusing, but it was worth the inconvenience. Great Job.
