Went here with a few friends tonight (party of 5). Three of them got the 8 inch pizza and salad, another a shrimp scampi, and I had the chicken parmesan. They all seemed to enjoy their dishes taking half of their dishes home. The chicken was nice and crispy covered with the red sauce and cheese. The noodles had no sauce on them except for what slid off of the chicken. I did finish off my dish, it was decent but not on my must eat again list.It is a nice place, decorated well, and not too loud like so many place are these days. It would work for a date night for couples that enjoy Italian food. The service was spot on. The server was knowledgable and quick.

If you're on the East side of town and don't know where to go, but want good food, wine and cocktails, then go to Zona 78. I will have to petition the 3 1/2 star rating because I've been dining here for years and the cocktails, food and service here is consistently good. I've never come once when I didn't have a great dining experience whether it be a casual lunch or a fancy date night. My hubby this time had the Pizza Boy which was yummy. The pizza here has never been a miss for us. I had the sesame ahi tuna salad which was fresh and crisp. We can always count on Zona 78.

Was there tonight with my family. Food was not good. Eggplant Parmesan was terrible. Dry and hardly any sauce. Waited an hour for our meal. I haven't eaten here in 14 years. 14 years ago I thought it was a very nice restaurant but it is worn inside and definitely needs an overhaul. I doubt we will return very disappointed.

Beets are a favorite of mine. They have the best beet salad, along with their pizzas. Cozy ambiance. Don't miss out on this quaint eatery. Paula Porter

Came for happy hour (weekdays 3-6p) to enjoy their decently discounted cocktails, beers, wine, and appetizers. At 5:30 on a Friday the establishment was about 85-90% occupied. We were seated in 3 minutes and service was consistently attentive during our entire hourlong stay. We ordered the blueberry Mojito and the cucumber Margarita, with mussels & sausage as our appetizer. Drinks arrived in 5 min and were excellent (see pics) and there was no cutting corners despite the -$4 HH discount. The mussels arrived 3 minutes later. The serving was substantial and had good flavors. I was initially bummed no bread came with the mussels until I realized there was no broth unlike other mussel appetizers one might have experienced. Crumbled sausage was different and welcomed.Only critiques: about half of the mint leaves in the Mojito were yellow-to-brown (decayed) as if they'd come from the bottom of the bin (bleh). And the mussels were over-cooked (brown, not light/pale and tough, not tender) as if they had come from a ready-pot-of-mussels. This would explain why they arrived so quickly. In addition we both found the mussels and sausage to be extremely salty (and she loves salt). We'd definitely return and re-order the cucumber Margarita and perhaps try some other drinks (Sangria?!). From the tables surrounding us anything with tomatoes or fresh mozzarella (boards; salads; etc) looked fantastic.Parking is ample in the shopping center's private lot but you may have to walk a ways during peak hours. Ambience is casual elegant with noise levels modest despite the crowd (easily able to hear yourselves converse... and often the closely-spaced table next to you :) Bar seating is equally welcoming and allows for terrific lines of sight as well as observing some of the prep stations which is uniquely entertaining. Will definitely return.

My son, partner and I had dinner and we all came out happy and content. Checks on all food, service and somewhat on the ambiance, plus drinks. Worth your time and money. Until next time! I'll give them a rating of 4.25. Why? We sat on a booth and people across from us were so LOUD not sure if they were drunk or just didn't give a damn about people around them.

I ordered the Alfredo and shrimp pasta, which was good. It came out hot and had a piece of sour dough bread. I was not completely blown away, but I ate the entire dish and was satisfied. The restaurant is clean and well decored. Very modern in decoration. The server was nice, and since I was on a date, it gave us enough time to chat and find our orders. He refilled our waters and did all proper check backs. All in all, it was a good time, and if you like a causal Italian experience, I would say try it out.

The primary reason for this rating is our waiter, Ellis. He was the only waiter (with no apparent bus staff or additional servers) in the entire restaurant for a busy lunch crowd on the MLK Day holiday. He remained calm, was efficient yet friendly, made recommendations when asked and took the time needed with our group of nine to ensure our orders were delivered accurately. He kept his sense of humor also, which seems as if it would be a challenge under such circumstances. My margherita pizza and salad with pear vinagrette were fresh and delicious, though they took some time to come out. All in all, I enjoyed the experience and hope Ellis gets the kudos he deserves for managing the situation with grace and skill.

Took my wife, son and his girlfriend last Sunday night.strange hovering waiter. Calamari was not fresh and Luke warm and slimy.they were out of the prime rib dip so it was recommended I get the pasta topped with a short rib. It was a very small dish topped with pulled pork, really strange , no sides except one piece of bread for 29$ My wife had the blanco pizza, 2 out of 10 at best . Her Caesar salad was covered in sun dried tomatoes and very little dressing. Burgers and chicken dish for the rest with beer and wine. Worst 150 dollar meal if had in a long time, one and done Zona 78 david

Went here many years ago and remember not loving it but came back this week with some friends and was pleasantly impressed! You could see the staff making the pasta from scratch (they also make their own sausage in house). The ambiance was relaxing with dimmed lighting. Our server Billy was incredible! It's local which makes it even better. Everything tasted very fresh and I look forward to coming back.
