JARONIUM in the zen rock VJ birdcage booth
Dead cockroach in the bathroom... apparently there was a live one crawling about in a stall, too.
Somewhat good music. Awful DJ tho. Bad mixes. Don't let this guy DJ at any of your parties. Keep this short guy in the AZ desert

I was told that this might be a good place tocome on a Saturday night for Latin music and social dancing - and maybe it is - but based on what I saw from the outside on Friday night, I didn't really feel like coming back to find out. Neither the place nor the doormen seemed to me to be very welcoming; nor was the massive police presence parked nearby. There did not seem to be that many people going in - and I didn't want to pay just to look around inside if there wasn't likely to be reason for me to stay.

so first of all, I arrived the club and forgot my wallet so I like didn't have an ID. and I showed them my Arizona Mobile ID on my phone and they were like "umm, we need a physical ID." So I ran back to my car and grabbed my old drivers license. Literally from like 2016. what ever! and they were like, "umm it like needs to be horizontal." anyways, they didn't let me in and we literally had bottle service!!!! like im sorry but im literally 21. Anyways, this place is getting shut down. they sell coke!!!

This was one of the best places to go dance when I was younger. The drinks can get expensive for what you get but it was still fun

There's a reason why this place has been so rarely reviewed. No one goes here. At least that was the case on a Friday night at about 11 pm. The bouncers at the door informed us it was dead, but we should still check it out--for a five dollar cover. I didn't want to, not at all, but my friends unfortunately informed them it was my 30th birthday. Some jokes and peer pressure ensued, and so we went in. They covered my five dollars, which was nice, but everyone else paid. And why they had a cover at all was beyond me. This place should be paying for people to come in and dance. We got inside and realized it had far surpassed dead. There was not a single patron, and an awkward bartender greeted us less than enthusiastically and served up small, overpriced drinks, which we nursed from the empty balcony area waiting for the DJ to play a song we requested. It took two Kanye songs and a couple of bad remixes before he finally got around to it. Strange it took so long, since he wasn't playing to an audience. Apparently the bar tender had a long line of requests in. After our crew of four danced on the completely empty floor and our one disappointed (single and hoping for more) friend stared at the emptiness from the stairs, we got out of here, down five bucks and a lot of pride.

Should this 50-something year old woman have been at Zen Rock shakin' her booty after midnight on a Saturday night among the throngs of cool, young attractive people? Hell no! But did she and did she have a fantastic and fun time? Hell yes!!Enough said.

My ears are still ringing from the music - the dance club was super loud. I think that the best part of the club was the people - everyone was dancing and having a good time. Zen Rock had three different "areas": 1) A large dance area with modern and "common" songs 2) An area with mixed Spanish and modern songs, as well as a bar 3) An area in the basement with primarily Spanish songs. I had fun in all three areas, and it was interesting to be able to experience all three different sectors in one club.However... for the negatives. The cover charge was $5 for girls (not bad), but on top of that, the drinks were way overpriced (a jager bomb + margarita was $25 without tip). Moreover, I have huge concerns about their sanitary levels; my friend pointed out that there was a cockroach right behind me in the bathroom and I thought that she was joking until I turned around and saw one... so gross. Plus, the bathrooms are clogged, messy, and just plain repulsive - my friend told me that there was another cockroach crawling around in her stall. Bottom line: Fun with a lot of different songs to dance to, but concerns about price, poor service, and really awful sanitary levels.

Used to be a semi regular at Zen Rock, now I'm an occasional visitor. That being said, I fell in love with this place hard when it opened. Large dance-floor (finally in Tucson!), great mix of music with Top 40 on the ground floor that gets the ladies moving and great house music downstairs which get me and my crew grooving. The staff is a little on the slower side, expect for one bartender, cute blonde which I would highly recommend as she's good at her job. I like the multiple bathroom option, there's bathrooms downstairs and on the ground floor on the back outside patio. The decor is nice, the seating is comfy inside and outside. I like the posters of classic rockstars on the wall, even if it gives the joint a bit of a "Hard Rock Tucson" feel. There used to be go-gos on the stripper poles (ah, stripper poles, how I love when you're in a bar) and girls on swings suspended from the ceiling. Haven't seen them in a long while now. If you plan on getting wasted, beware. There are multiple random step up and downs throughout the bar, whether you want to go outside, to a different bar, or when you leave. Keep a sharp eye out so you don't become the entertainment while on your ass. The last few times I've gone, it's been dead. I mean really dead. Went for my birthday with about 12 friends, and we were the only people there that wasn't staff for a good hour or so. And the people who did trickle in, was an eclectic mix of transients. I'm chalking the recent deadness up to summertime in a "college" town. The downstairs is closed now as well, which I think is due to the deadness, but makes me sad, as that was my favorite spot of this club. Hopefully in the next few months, once the kids come back to school, this place will reach it's homeostasis, and be rockin' again.

Went to this club on Saturday June 26th 2021 and this place was horrible!!! We were told the bottle we wanted was $250 but the waitress stated it was $295 with til cool... We paid $295 for our vip with bottle service for tip included! All the "waitress" did was give us our bottle cranberry juice, and red bull as they ran out of pineapple juice. She did not serve us our drinks or would check on us. So what was the $45 tip for exactly?! Who knows.... the dj in the main room would only play tik tok music he didn't even mix right... the grupo didn't even know how to play they kept messing up the songs. We went to the bar to get a pink pussy shot and a mixed drink and boyyyy did it suck!! The shot tasted like club soda! And the drink was nothing but redbull! Horrible experience!!!! Never going back! Save your money! I either rate this club 0 stars if i could!!
