I've been coming here for about four years now at the recommendation of my fantastic TCM/Acupuncturist. I've gotten to know Ling and Guan, and am heartened by their spirit and generosity. Some things require a prescription, and my acupuncturist can just email them and have it ready for pickup, or, if they need to blend it on the spot it only takes a moment. Their in-house specialist, Don Lightner, is also fantastic, though I see him in his private practice with Kimon Wellness (which is just phenomenal). I took a trip to china earlier this year and the owners of Yong Sheng were incredibly gracious, giving me lots of tips and sending gifts for the people I would meet. They also sell tea, exotic recipe ingredients, and a small selection of feng shui cures. It took me a while to get to know them, but now we have friends in common, and I am delighted to attest to their character and the pride they put into what they do. Tucson is a richer place because of them. All that being said, I must also mention that the greatest testimony is that the remedies they have suggested have been fantastic! I've come in for everything from bruises to immune boosting during travel. Everything they've suggested has been effective. I'm so grateful for this hidden gem!

I've been coming here for years to get my prescriptions filled by my acupuncturist. The service is always quick and friendly. I haven't bought anything besides my prescribed herbs, but they also sell some Chinese snacks & candies.

I have been coming here for over 20 years, always friendly help and great prices! Back in 2006 I had been suffering from a cold for 2 months and nothing seemed to get rid of it, Vitamin C, echinacea, etc. I finally decided to consult the herbalist and see if she could help me. It cost me $100 for the consultation and the herbs, but it was worth it! I cooked up the herbs she gave me and a day later I felt great! Fantastic store!

Run by really nice people. Clean, well organized. Be careful. Not all the herbs are "herbs." I looked up all the ingredients in my prescription and one of them is "turtle shell." Since traditional Chinese medicine also includes animal based ingredients-- some from endangered species like tigers and rhinos, not to mention bear gall, produced by extremely cruel methods on "bear farms" in China (you can look it up yourself)-- be sure to check out what you've gotten hold of. Easy on the internet. They write the ingredients in both Chinese characters and English letters. Of the 12 ingredients given me, only 1 was animal based, but I'm glad I checked.

As a licensed acupuncturist I have traveled to herb shops all across the USA, and this is the best herb shop I have seen- hands down. Better than anything in Chinatowns in NYC, LA, Chicago, etc. Great selection of raw, powdered, and patent medicinal herbs, and a nice selection of sundries items as well. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who can answer detailed questions- most retail herb stores can't answer basic questions. i stock a comprehensive pharmacy in my clinic, but I don't carry raw herbs. I send my patients to Yong Sheng when they want raw herbs, and I know they will be well cared-for.
