What can be seen from 1st Ave. Library is also where there is a pedestrian crosswalk with overhead flashing lights.
The entrance to the library is in the rear of the building.

I love libraries and all they stand for. This location has a remodel a few years ago and the space is inviting and fosters a beautiful community. Free access to diverse literary arts coupled with community services to include but not limited a seed library, computer access and educative programs - what a gift!

Nice neighborhood library (inside) - that would look and feel much nicer and "safer" without a pointed tip fence around it (like it is a prison).

This is a very good library, and usually busy during the afternoons and weekends. There are plenty of computers for people to sit at and do work, but let's be honest, if you are a teenager, you will mostly see them using the computers for gaming. I came here to do some homework. Doing work at coffee shops and restaurants can become expensive, lead me to lose focus, which is why going to the library had such an appeal. The Wifi here is great! I was able to log in and out on my Macbook with no problems. The staff is also notable for their helpfulness and friendliness. They have two private rooms available too, and they are often booked. Unfortunately, this library also hosts its fair share of homeless people and panhandlers, some of whom smell of alcohol or bad BO. Others tend to be irksome. I like to use the library for doing homework, and on the two occasions I came here, I was constantly bothered by people when not in the private room. I sometimes feel I need a shirt that says "Headphones on = Don't bother me!".The library does a good job trying to curb this. There is always a guard on duty, and on multiple occasions, I have seen them reprimand or kick them out. However I will not be coming back again. This place personally makes me uncomfortable.Still, it's a great family friendly library that has a lot of events

Nice library! Lots of people here on a Sunday, which is always great to see. Support your libraries, people. Folks were reading, on the computer, attending programs and maximizing their use of the four hours. I especially liked the design of flying open books on the outside, and the library seemed to be situated in an area where lots of people lived and could easily access it. It was a decent sized library and they were open all days of the week, which is great to see.

My family has been using this library now for over three years. They seem to always have the books that we are looking for. If your closest branch does not have what you want to check out, another branch that has it can deliver it to your branch and you get an email notification that it is in. This library is conveniently located on 1st Ave. and about Prince. It seems to be an older Pima County Library, but it works. It does have a children's area for them to read books or have books read to them.In terms of facilities, this doesn't compare to a newer facility like, say, the Murphy-Wilmot library which has a snack area with vending machines and computer-friendly tables, plenty of reading chairs, and other tables good for group study with electrical outlets. But it is still a good library and it delivers the most important thing libraries do: books.I especially like the online services that the Pima County library system has to offer. I'm talking more than the search services here. You can check out audio books, ebooks, music, videos, and magazines and download them for listening or viewing on your computer or your smart phone or other electronic device. The Pima County library uses the app OverDrive for your digital and audio books which is available for iPhones and Android powered devices. You can also download up to three free songs a week using Freegal and ***you get to keep them*** for free! Really! OverDrive is used for the videos. Zinio for the magazines. Check all of these resources out. I have enjoyed many audio books while driving, thanks to Pima County libraries!

This is my place and these are my people, I live 1/2 block from here and come by at least 2 times a week. This is the hub of my neighborhood or my hood, a heavily pedestrian place, with at least 20 to 30 people out on the street day or night (friends always say where do they all come from). They all flock to to the library young, old, rich, and many poor, like a refuge from the cold cruel world. There is always something happening, from free flu shots, GED classes, tutoring, children's stories and the list goes on and on. I do not know what we would do if it was not there, it is not a place I take for granted. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable, so tipey toe down to the brary and meet my peeps.

I feel like I just stepped back in time. And had a first of all firsts. I got my very first Pima County Public Library Card. So this branch is closest to my home and easy to access. I was brought to the library for, would you believe it, a DVD. I had read a recent review about an old movie in a blog I read daily. The review had me so intrigued I had to see the movie. Well, I read some comments and many people had said that their libraries had carried the DVD. So, in this economy I figured it was worth looking into. Sure as heck, they had it!So, I went in, and the very friendly staff at the counter helped me get my card. Even got to pick out the style on the front. Woohoo! Then, I wandered through the DVDs and found the one I was looking for. I spent a few more minutes wandering through and remembered how you can get lost in books for hours. It was almost nostalgic. The library itself isn't super large. But they have computers, and some study rooms, etc. When I have more time I fully intend on going back and spending a little more time there. It was so nice to get out of my normal routine and take some time to wander the library. I hope others do the same.

Brought my kids here for the first time. Librarians are very friendly and they had activities going on. Bracelet making, practice reading to dogs, and coloring pages. Spacious, clean, and welcoming.
