Mr. is a very knowledgeable attorney...thoroughly familiar with all aspects of legal issues regarding trusts, wills, powers of attorney, etc. He is very patient and took time to explain the pros-and-cons of each document as it is affected by Arizona state laws. He is very pleasant to talk to, and he does not mid being asked questions. He and his legal team were even able to come to my home and compete the necessary paperwork, when we were unable to meet with him in his office....where, today, can you get that kind of service? My family requested this office to help with monthly budgeting for my aging parents. They also needed help with paying their taxes and reducing their bills. Although the staff is kind and friendly, they will charge you for every phone call, text, question, copy that they make and breath that they take while they are working with you.While we ended up being billed nearly $2000 for all of the busy work they recorded, we ended up with none of the services that we had asked for. The taxes are still not paid, and the monthly budget that they came up with was absolutely useless and nothing beyond what we had already done as a family. Also, you will not receive their bill for months, so you will not know that you were being charged for every bit of minutia they performed (and that had no effective outcome). If you decide to use this office, be very careful about asking questions. Unfortunately, this practice exploits the vulnerability of the elderly and must be watched carefully.

I attended a seminar about estate planning given by Paul Melo. I learned a lot from this presentation as he spoke in plain, clear language, free from lawyer jargon. As we have no surviving children, it was important to have a trust as well as a living will. I investigated other attorneys and firms - all could prepare the same documents. But they all were very impersonal and used boiler plate forms. Paul helped us complete a comprehensive trust, living wills, powers of attorney - all the documents that we will need when the time comes. Paul has guided us regarding guardianship of an adult relative, special needs trusts, and in making decisions regarding a foreclosure - not his area of expertise - but he was gave us enough information to make better decision! My mom has also used him to revise her trust. I highly recommend Williams Melo.On top of that, Paul is active in the community! He demonstrates that he is so much more than just a lawyer by participating in The Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce - he is a neighbor, a parent, and a responsible civic-minded citizen of Sierra Vista.

If you need someone for Probate litigation, DO NOT use Mr. Melo. After 3 YEARS of handling our case Mr. Melo's ineptness caused it to be dismissed before the court even heard any facts, for failure on HIS part to do a very BASIC technical requirement from the get go. If it hadn't been for this MAJOR error we would have had justice for the money that was stolen from us by another party that was clearly lying to the court. Later this party even admitted to previously lying in our case during another court case later! Mr. Melo caused us more time and money because of his ineptness, unorganization and failure to communicate timely. Having to repeatedly give him copies of the same documents and his failing to give copies of court documents he recieved, to us timedly or AT ALL. He failed to meet EVERY deadline on the court schedule he personally set with the opposing attorney and failed to provide our expert witness report or even reveal the experts name to the opposing attorney AT ALL! BIG NO NO! Find another attorney for litigation because Mr. Melo has NO business accepting ANY such cases. Probate litigation is EXTREMELY difficult for a layperson to deal with as it is so do yourself a favor and get someone who stays on top of their cases and puts their clients first. Clearly Mr. Melo does not.
