My review is for the pool area andI give it a one start due to our experience with one of the life guards.I went with my sister and the two kiddos (4&6). There was one other family there with a young girl who played with my daughters. Within 2 minutes the life guard yelled (SCREAMED) at my 6 year old for skipping. I understand there's rules but she even made me jump by how loud she screamed. I reminded my little girls no running or skipping. It was quiet like I said there was one other small family and that's it. There was no chaos so the loud screaming was too much. Two more times this same life guard SCREAMED at my daughter for being in the water that was more shallow and somewhat jumping? That's the best way I can put it but after made a remark to the other life guards saying that they didn't need that today and she wasn't going to put up with it. After that my family along with the other family (who we did not know) were so caught off guard that we gathered our things and left. My kids were not being crazy. They were not loud. They did not run. Every time they were SCREAMED at was in the water (even the skipping was in the shallow end) We respect rules but how she talked to my kids was so unnecessary and ruined the girls experience and had my one daughter in tears. The other family came up to us after and said they have been there many times and never seen that happen before and apologized for them. We all felt second hand embarrassment with how rude this life guard was and all the lifeguards seemed uncomfortable and didn't step in to do or say anything. The slide wasn't running which is fine. My daughter wanted to use the diving board but couldn't because she had googles on which she needs but ok I understand all that. My problem was how rude and mean the lifeguard was to a four and six year old. The pool was completely empty within 20mins of us arriving and leaving with the other random family. I guess she got want she wanted. A empty pool with no work to do. I've never experienced this with a lifeguard in my life. It was pretty extreme. I didn't make a scene because of the children but I will be going back to get her name and take this further.

My Review is based wholly on the Pool as I have not gone to the rec center, just the pool. The pool area seemed very cramped. However with the slide and the diving board the kids had a blast! I like the beach entrance to the pool- however it's not a very big pool. I think that they allow too many Summer Camps/Programs to come all at the same time and it should be limited. The pool was completely packed- I know its summer, but it was very crowded.I also know that with so many Tucson pools closed due to budget this causes this cramped issue, but still there was no swimming what so ever as there was so many kids. EVERYWHERE!! The kids had fun and well i'm just glad to let them cool off in a pool that allows them to have fun on a water slide and jump of a diving board. SO eh and well hey... :)

This review is for the pool only. The pool itself is really nice- there is a beach entry and the entire surface (walls and bottom) is a pebble texture- it's a nice alternative but it will snag your suit! A major plus is that the pool is CLEAN (aka: no floating hairballs, bandaids, lord knows what else). There are 5 or 6 lanes available during adult lap swim (depending on how the dividers are set up on any given day) and there's never really a wait for lanes. The locker room is so-so. There are showers and toilets, but no lockers available for you to lock your stuff up which is a con for me. The lifeguards are nice and helpful, but beware come closing time: they will start to blow their whistles 15 minutes before they close warning you that if you want to use the showers then get out of the pool and use them now. It seems to me that it wouldn't really kill them to stay ten minutes past the pool closing for them to let people utilize the full amount of pool time. A minor inconvenience at best.Overall, it's a great facility to use for swimming laps, I'm a big fan!

we only utilized their pool.i like that the pool as a beach entrance. it puts me at ease when i can let my daughter walk around in the water by herself. she knows how deep she can go and if she falls over, all she needs to do is stand up!!they have a few lanes set up for lap swimming and the slide is only open on the weekends. the life guards were very friendly and knowledgeable!! i might consider getting a membership here. they told me the pool is heated for the winter months ^_^

We have been coming here since I was a kid. This place has a nice outdoor basketball court. As far as outdoor courts go. They also have a great Halloween thing there each year.

Right next to Pima Community College and Lincoln Park. Swimming pool has a gigantic slide that opens during summer. Pool is heated and has a beach-style entrance for small children to enter.

We're been to this pool quite a few times as its our neighborhood pool. My issue? The life guards don't seem to pay attention. There's normally one up there, and sometimes I've seen a female join a male and they "chat" and socialize while he's suppose to be watching the pool. I KNOW she's not a 2nd guard watching as she sits behind him at his feet area and not at another life guard stand. I've never seen this anywhere but here.... certainly not at Edith Ball, Udall, or Catalina. Now, sometimes I've seen the life guards talk a moment when switching stations but not someone sitting and hanging out (distracting) the guard who is suppose to be watching. This pool goes from 0 to about 3.5 to 4 feet in the swim area. The swim area is small as they normally have at least 6 to 8 lanes roped off for lap swimmers. They also have a dive area and a huge slide. We've never seen anyone on the slide but the water for the slide has never been on.There is limited seating so bring a lawn chair. One small, uncomfortable wooden bench under some shade and a picnic table over by the swim lanes and (dead) grass.Normally these two seating areas are covered with swimmer backpacks and towels. The (dead) grass is watered with reclaimed water and I perfer not to sit over there due to the smell. I love the shade they have available but you do need to bring a lawn chair. The ladies rest room... well... the toilets smell, like they need a serious cleaning. They do have stalls with doors for privacy. The shower area is one big open area. A place you can rinse off and full shower if you like but with no privacy. I'd definitely say the woman's locker room needs a deep cleaning.Because my child can swim, and I keep a hawk eye on her, we go here alot but I don't like the whole life guard buddy system with the male and female and the smell in the woman's locker room is pretty bad. (Hint, look up at the air ducts.)It's a $1.00 for a hour or hour and a half of swim fun for my child to cool off. Definitely worth it as we can bath and change as soon as we get home. *This pool can get crowded!!!
