Village Bakehouse

Found this gem on a recent trip to the area. Went on a Saturday am. It was busy, but very well organized. Wait times for service were very good. Clean inside w great aromas. Baked offerings nicely presented in case. Outside seating was ample and clean, too. Staff were attentive. For the three of us we had the eggs and cheese croissant, the breakfast quesadilla and the yogurt oasis. The scrambled eggs in the croissant and quesadilla were amazingly fluffy and flavorful. The croissant was fresh and warm. The quesadilla was folded perfectly and griddled to a golden crisp outside, yet soft to the chew. The fresh fruits served w the yogurt oasis and the croissant were just that-fresh. Village Bakehouse is definitely on our list for a return visit.

While my car was being serviced nearby, I dropped in here for a post-breakfast dessert. I had a 4" fruit tart ($5.15) and a medium-sized hot chai ($4.35). Both were good. However, both items rang up at a different price than the one posted. They need to do a better job of synching up the cash register with the prices posted in-store, online, and on the menus.Indoor and outdoor seating. The indoors is small and tightly packed.

The Breakfast Enchilada and mini apple pie were worth the wait on a busy morning. Our server John was warm friendly and professional. The aromas wafting from inside the bakery are mouth watering. Pet friendly patio makes it nice for dog lovers. Order holiday pies early as they're likely to sell out.

Wow, so many bakery goodies and the place was packed in the morning. They have a few gluten free options: cookies, macaron type offerings and an almond horn - which I tried, this is a eggs white type pastry with almond paste, coated with almonds and dipped in chocolate- very moist on the inside and crunchy outside, excellent. I also had a cup of fresh fruit. Give them a try if you are on the north side of town

Very disappointing cake. i wanted cake but got mostly --mostly-- frosting. Yuck. I'd say this cake was 80% frosting, 20% cake. No kidding. had never seen this from any other bakery. Had to toss it out.

I haven't been in a long time but stopped in twice recently. Once for bfast and today for lunch. The absolute worst, flavorless roast beef sandwich I have ever had. Supposed to have horseradish cream cheese on it and it did. About a tsp worth. $45 for 2 of us to have a less than mediocre meal. I gave 2 stars because the pastries were good. But I definitely will not eat a meal here again.

My fiance and I were pretty disappointed with Village Bakehouse. I am surprised based on the high reviews they have. We ordered a Coconut Cream pie for Thanksgiving pickup. It cost $30 for a 10" deep dish pie. We decided to get it since we thought it should be good for that price! We were very disappointed however. The pickup process was fine but the box they provided was completely ridiculous. A flimsy little cardboard box for a heavy pie. Using it for transport was not going to work so we had a buy a cake carrier from Walmart. When we finally got to try the pie it was a major let down. The filling was very bland with almost no coconut flavor. The cream on top was split and not very good. The crust was soggy and almost non-existent. Overall for the crazy prices they charge and the disappointment as a result we most likely will not be back.

Tried this place this morning for the first time. I loved their pastries, and breakfast! We order breakfast enchiladas and breakfast quesadilla, and vanilla iced latte. So much flavor,portions were shareable in my opinion. They have a variety of pastries to try and they even have cake for special occasions. Delicious food and food service, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

The surprise wheel chose this place for us. Nice little breakfast, brunch, lunch and bakery place. Noticed lots of baked goods being picked up while eating breakfast. They have a nice outside seating area,but it was wet and chilly the day we were there. I had the huevos rancheros. It was delicious. My wife chose the chorizo, potatoes and eggs. She enjoyed them as well. I was surprised at her choice. She rarely has that meal. Nothing was left of either meal. Small area inside. You order at the register and your food is delivered to you. If I find myself in this part of town for breakfast, I'd surely try it again. Oh, and they have some good smelling coffees. I did not try any as I had my share of caffeine already.

The baked goods and cakes are very good. The last two times we have been here the service has not been good. The people behind the counter are not pleasant and project that they are annoyed with helping customers. Ambiance is fine. Usually crowded. Managers, brief your employees on kindness and customer service.
