Food, not Golf!!I came here for breakfast at one morning then for dinner the same day. Service was good but it was very pleasant classy place classy people average age was 65. The omelette in the morning was excellent. The salmon salad in the evening was great. Ambience was again for retirees and then for young people. Service is good customer service is good greetings by all the staff. It's on the foothills of the mountain. Nice area no pollution plenty of parking. It looks like wooden lodge from the higher Midwest. My friends have a member here for the last 18 years or so. Nice nice experience overall. If I come back to Tucson I will definitely come back to visit this place if I get invited!

GOLFERS-- READ THIS FIRST!I booked two teetimes for two days to play both courses, based on the advice of golf digest magazine. I can confirm that advice is 100% wrong.... This course is absolutely not even close to one of the best public courses in Arizona, especially at $262/round. To start, they make you park at a different golf course than you're actually playing. There's no bag handlers so you'll have to carry your own stuff down to the pro shop, which is conveniently hidden. This wouldn't be too big of a deal but the golf cart GPS Geo-fence malfunctions, so you're 1.3 mile drive to the actual golf course likely isn't gonna be smooth. (Think you're clever? The carts don't have a Marshall mode) The employees use walkie-talkies to communicate yet somehow you'll still be asked by multiple people to see your receipt. Driving range is only 210 yards deep. Play is SLOWWWWW, and you will not see a Marshall work on speeding it up. If you're lucky, you might see a cart girl once in your round. The layout is Terrible, poor planning leaves some holes with houses that actually block your shot. I'm not even kidding, there are houses that overhang shot paths. You also have to drive significant distances between holes. There are points where you have to cross four lane roads and up to 2 mile drives between holes. The maintenance crew does a decent job, which is why this is a two star review and not one. If you're still willing to brave it and pay 262 for a 50 dollar course, choose the mountain course rather than canyon.

Great to see the Ventana Canyon Club and Lodge making updates this year, with a new chef, more live music, and a general refresh across the property. There's easy access to the golf course and racquet club, and the patio spaces off the main lobby and main restaurant offer total R&R. Location is everything, and it's hard to beat sitting around the firepit with a 19th-hole brew, listening to guitar, and soaking in those killer views of the Catalinas.

Our room for three over 75 women had a spiral staircase and a tub/ shower that was a death trap with no hand rails of anti skid material on the bottom of the tub. Glad we made it out alive. Requested help from management. None given. Beware

Although it is an older resort, we still loved it! Did not like the fact that you could not call the front desk to get anything, because the phone system did not work. So there was no room service either. I'm hoping that it was because of staff shortage and it will get better soon! Our room was humongous! The resort & golf courses were beautiful!

I've visited Ventana resort several times but this trip by far exceeded all of our expectations. Our room was perfect and the view was to die for. The staff throughout the resort was personable and friendly. This was my fiancé's first trip to Arizona and they helped make it a trip to remember. Excellent food breakfast lunch and dinner and both golf courses were in immaculate shape. Already counting down the days until we visit again. 10/10 would recommend.

The groundskeeper is doing an excellent job of keeping the fairways and greens in the best shape at any course I have been to, The restaurant in the resort was good for breakfast while we waited for our tee time.. The holes were so fun and challenging. Loved their signature par three into a small green in the mountain. All the holes were beautiful and this is a nice high end course that I want to play again, The course was in better shape than any course in Pebble Beach.

I have only played the Mountain course and it was in great shape. The only reason I don't give 5 stars was because there was a lack of signage. Getting around was a bit confusing. Other than that, the price was right and the layout was fantastic. The marshalls did a good job of keeping a good pace while being professional. Unfortunately I was paired with a guy that couldn't control his temper and didnt play well. This made the round a bit awkward and I was tempted to drop his clubs off the cart and leave him. I played a good round and only lost 2 balls, so I had a good time. I will be back!!Also, after playing, I wish that I had taken driver off of some of the short par 4s. They're more open than it looks and I got spooked by some of the other comments. Go for it!!

Played three round this past week alternating between the mountain and canyon course. Great scenery and the course was in exceptional condition for December. Greens are fast and tricky.

Do not book if you're under 60 years old. Gave us two noise complaints for music at the same time and said next one we would be kicked out. The next noise complaint was from a movie being too "loud". They kicked 9 20 year old girls out at 1 in the morning. Never had a worse hotel experience in my life.
