Vensel Treasure Shoppe

Nice shop with a good variety of items. Some good quality items. The prices however seem on the high side very close to retail. Also because it is consignment the prices get lowered after time. Seems like if you price the items right they wouldn't have to do that.

This is a lovely gift shop near Posada Java. I found a handcrafted mug of clay designed with birds surrounding the upper edge, hand painted art cards, and a delightful body lotion made with honey here. Great variety and nice staff!

Some of the reviews were posted before our newer Manager Ellie was hired as the new manager back in Sept. 2019. She is very experienced in managing and an expert in quality of the consignments she accepts for sale to the customers. She stands behind the products and entertains reasonable complaints. Many customers are happy with their purchases and continue to come back for more treasures!

We went back looking for another furniture piece and noticed their prices have increased- out of the "reasonable " range.Sad because the money goes to a good cause.

Honestly, I am shocked at the number of negative comments regarding Vensel's, they sell used furniture staffed by volunteers, period. As always with anything used it is buyer beware, one needs to do one's homework and fully inspect the items. That being said, I have had nothing but great expectances with Vensel's. We live close so go in about once every few weeks to see if there is anything new we are interested in. We purchased a wool rug that is absolutely gorgeous, of the quality that it will be handed down to my kids. We purchased a beautiful bedroom set that would have been thousands more if we found it new, if we could even find that type of quality anymore. The people are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Vensel's as a place to find pretty high end items, the only caveat is the place is small, so you may need to visit a few times before you strike gold.

My husband and I bought a domplex fireplace. A very nice one in great shape. The guys they had to dismantle and load it were not careful, breaking a locking joint and pulling screws through the base by being in a hurry and not reading dismantle instructions on fireplace. We got home and realized they had given us the mantel piece. We called and let them know we were driving back to get it and would arrive around 3pm. They said ok, we arrived at 3:03 pm to a locked store. They didn't call us back before locking up or bother to say they wouldn't wait. knowing full well we were driving back to get the mantel they never loaded. Two 60 mile round trips to get this piece they forgot. No concern or courtesy to customers extended here. Buyers beware!

Don't buy anything from their online store. I purchased a set of dishes advertised online for $210, paid for it with my credit card and when I went to pick up my order the next day, was told that the price listed on their online store was incorrect and that the "real price" was $350. The manager told me that she would sell the dishes to me for $280, but would not honor the advertised price of $210. I had paid for my order thru PayPal, so, was able to get the charge reversed, but, afterwards I checked their online store and she had changed the price of the dishes to $350 and then soon after, marked them as sold. I contacted the BBB of Southern AZ about this and they tried to contact Vensel's Treasure Shoppe, but Vensel's would not respond to their inquiry.

This used to be a wonderful place to find hidden treasures, I have purchased 6 clocks, sofa and assorted pieces of furniture over the past 2 years. I recently brought in a wardrobe to consign and was told they no longer accept them, (per new manager) I went in today and right there was a large wardrobe. What happened to this new policy?I actually went in to purchase a mid century modern hutch which last week had a tag with the final markdown to be on 1/04/2019 at $90. I came in on the 7th to purchase and it was still there but the price tag was missing. After waiting about 15 minutes for them to figure out the price they came back with a current price of $120 something and not at the final markdown, WHAT A SCAM. Beware of the tactics used in this place. Could be why the inventory is far less than it ever was in the past, windows empty, looks bad.I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AGAIN

I purchased a chest of drawers and when their guys loaded it in my vehicle. A piece of the top chipped off. We didn't see it until we got home and were ready to unload it. Before we moved it, I noticed a piece of the top lying on the floor of our vehicle. I called the store and reported the damage. The woman who answered said "sorry" - everything is non- refundable. After we hung up, one of the guys who loaded it into our vehicle called and asked for a photo of the damage and said someone would call. I waited till the next week and called the store. I was told the owner was out. It's been over a week and no one has bothered to call to follow up on this matter. Looks like I own a damaged piece of furniture and Vensels won't make this right.
