Untamed Confections

We went yesterday during Tubac's Luminaria Nights. They had some amazingly tasty treats including several kinds of chocolates, pecan pie bites, etc. We took home a chocolate turtle, dark chocolate peanut butter cups, & vanilla honey marshmallows. Everything is so yummy! We will definitely be coming back here!

We came in for some gelato. The caramel pecan was sickeningly sweet. My hubby asked for the espresso gelato. First time they serve him the caramel pecan. He clarified and got chocolate. $10 for 2 very small and carefully weighed servings. We both threw 1/2 of ours away.UPDATE: I received a message from the owner with an apology, and a reasonable explanation--this goes a really long way. If I'm ever back in Tubac, I will give this place another shot, simply based on the owners response.

OMG - Fantastic handmade caramels - ingredients unique to Arizona - perfect gift souvenirs for the family, friends & coworkers we left behind. We spent a fortune at this shop after sampling the unique flavors. We bought multiple bags of the four flavors of caramel that used ingredients I thought best represented Arizona - Carameleno Jalapeno, Desert Date Pecan, Orange Sunup & Desert Wildflower. (They have a bigger variety.) The Jalapeno version has just a snap of heat at the finish; the Wildflower a soft, sweet flavor, the Desert Date Pecan has a chewy bite - my favorite was the Orange Sunup. I love citrus flavors & this unexpected flavor combo is outstanding! The shop shipped them home for us so no worries there. Each bag had 20 caramels in them so I broke the bags down & did a smaller gift of an assortment for each person. The shop has an online store that I've ordered from since. I'm not a chocolate eater usually but I might just have to try some of their chocolate caramel combos next!

I'd like to start off saying I never leave reviews...but I've been to this place twice... and it is so much fun! The candy is amazing, and the staff are all passionate and fun. You can tell everyone enjoys what they do, and the very creative treats sing on your tongue. I loved the Desert Date Pecan Honey Caramel. Vanilla is my favorite, and after talking to them I found out that they source only the best organic vanilla from Uganda. It's the most delicious thing ever! This place is a must visit destination if you enjoy artisan food or candy! Plus to top it off, you can watch the staff as they make all this amazing goodness through their viewing window!

Brilliant place. Great customer service, great chocolates and caramels. A must stop shop if you are in the area!!!

Met them at a arts and craft festival in Carefree. Tried several Carmel candies, orange, apple and jalapeño. All were wonderful. We left with a bag of the candy and jar of honey. We'll definately be getting more. Will make great gifts too.

Amazing and delicious artisan caramel and chocolate confections. I love the new flavors constantly coming through and the owners are so friendly and helpful. Their new shop in Tubac is adorable and well suited to their creations. Now I get to watch them in production mode through the viewing window.

Delicious, local, organic, lots of selection...this Arizona treasure has it all. I send holiday gifts to clients from Untamed and my clients are extremely well pleased. Everything they make is consistently of high quality and the candy is luscious, yet the flavors are quite subtle and nothing is overly sweet. Their on-line shopping is well organized and easy to use but it's more fun to go into the store and pick it out yourself (and get a taste!) Sign up for their fun and informative e-newsletters, so you get advance notice on new flavors and recipes, too.

such an interesting treat! I've never had caramels made from honey, but they were so good. similar in flavor to others, but they weren't sticky or tough. They are soft and melt in your mouth! I tried the peanut butter chocolate, coconut creme, and the pecan pie versions and all were lovely! They let you taste samples too which I thought was really cool of them.the dark chocolate salted desert tortoises are fabulous! the chocolate is almost too dark for me, but the salt and the caramel help to lighten up the flavor - give them a try!Their shop is tucked away a bit, so follow their signs and make sure to buy a treat (ot two) when you're looking around the various shops!and check in when you get there - there is a 10% off yelp coupon available (or there was when I went anyway)
