Does not look like much from outside but room is clean. New furniture, comfortable beds, new floor. Large screen tv. Wi-Fi. I like that you can park right in front of your room.

The Staff at the front desk were pleasant. The room was very clean, bright, and quiet and was identical to the photos on the website and through Booking.com. The continental breakfast options were surprisingly good! We originally booked for 1 night but ended up staying for 7 nights as we were touring the surrounding cities and towns within 2 hours drive, so the manager told us to book directly through him instead of Booking.com for a larger discount. A good value and a great hidden gem.

What a wonderful find near Historic 4th Ave of Tucson, close to the university area! You can tell this place has had a massive overhaul, and no corners were cut at all when it comes to the rooms. Everything present in the room is of great quality and has been thoughtfully put together. They even have refillable soap and lotion dispensers next to the sink and in the shower. No wasteful throw-away plastic containers! This is probably the most upscale motel I have stayed at, without the place pretending to be anything more than a motel (looking at you McCoy and Tuxon). The owner/operator on site was also super friendly and accommodating. I literally have nothing negative to say about this place. Great price/quality. And don't forget it has free parking because it's a motel, whereas hotels in the area charge you for parking.

Not fancy but a good location and a clean pool. Perfect for when you're visiting the University.

The husband and I stayed here for an anniversary weekend getaway, and we liked it very much! It looks like your typical motel on the outside, but the rooms were renovated and nice. They had an electric car plug outside, which was a bonus. The bed was comfortable and the location was great. We didn't have any problems staying here and would stay again.

Appreciated that there was a room that could accommodate our large family, and was very clean. I liked the way the parking lot was completely fenced with only one way in an out, it felt safe. The man at the desk was friendly and very accommodating. Walk across the street and eat at Bumsteds, delicious food. There's a nice park next door.

This motel must be the Best Kept Secret in downtown Tucson! It's not a chain, but was comparable in price to the Hampton Inn we stayed at in Utah. The unique and quite different decor was interesting and not a turn-off. The towels were plusher than most. The bed, bedding, and pillows were VERY comfortable. It had easy access to our ground floor room. It had a pool, microwave, and fridge, which we didn't use. We didn't take advantage of the free coffee or breakfast treats, so I can't comment on that. The room looked CLEAN! And was QUIET!!!I have no idea if someone was booked above me because I heard nothing. (At The Days Inn in Carlsbad, NM, I swear some walked the length of the room above us for hours. What is there possibly to do walking 25 feet in a small room except getting in those important 10,000 steps on a pedometer? GRRRRR!)The University Inn didn't have carpet, which I didn't even notice until my husband pointed it out, as that's usually a deal breaker for me. The WIFI was excellent, fast, and easy to use, even for my Apple products. (The Days Inn in Carlsbad, NM had CRAPPY WIFI for Apple Stuff. Grrrrr.)The TV worked great! It didn't have complimentary soaps but had unremovable dispenser bottles of soap, shampoo, and conditioner, which needed longer necks to pump easier. (Someone needs to design a better dispensing system, but that is not a reflection on management.I suggest you take in your own big bar of soap into the shower for easier use, but it's such a minor negative, it's almost not worth of mentioning.)The shower had awesome pressure and was a DOUBLE header. I haven't seen that in motels before. Do yourself a favor and escape the norm, at least for one night. NO COOKIE CUTTER HERE!

Hi guys I am here to rate my experience at the Univeristy Inn in Tucson. The bed and main area are completely clean and sanitary. However I cannot say the same about the bathroom. The problem at hand is a pretty crappy one. There is what appears to presumably be dookie stains on the bottom of the tub. To enhance the problem my son slipped and fell because of it, despite being warned about the issue. Along with this comes the problem of the roof being roughly 6 feet tall. The roof is so short a leprechaun might hit is head if he enters the shower. Also adding fuel to the fire is the bulky contraption on the side of the bath tub. The contraption also appears to have a dark brown substance that may or may not be more dookie. Overall the motel is in a good location as far as I know, not being from here. Overall I would give it a 26/1000. Oooops accidentally put another zero... or did I not??? Completely unsanitary and in fact one member of our family made the decision to go as far to take a shower and refused to take one, because of the filth.

So, 1st let me say : THIS is an INN (NOT A HOTEL), so I mean it is a small locally owned ADOREABLE, *(safe & clean) & COMFORTABLE Place to stay! To those who prefer name hotels because they provide a feeling of comfort and safety, I can vouch for myself (being 25 & room for 1- stay here because they are clean, friendly, and make you feel welcome & safe. The small parking lot gives the sense that they can watch who comes and goes and your vehicle and belongings are safe from a quick theif. #1 1. Local business, support small locally owned business#2 THEY PROVIDE A QUALITY SERVICE & CARE- (so I'm moving and I called at 2am because I spent 3 hours at a name hotel trying to check in and they couldn't take my card OR CASH (and my bank of course had IT issues and then That hotel didn't take cash (hotel unnamed XYZ)). & they let me check in during the middle of the night at like 4am, and check out was at 11, but since I was late they let me kindly sleep in and check out at 12:300 and returned my deposit. 3 THEY TAKE CASH (plus a ID +$100 deposit- which will be refunded at check out given you take care of the room). In the morning room cleaning services were going room to room, the cleanliness was excellent and I felt comfortable in their sheets and towels (which is usually why people avoid motels/Inns). I even made myself a little coffee before check out- very easy to use machine and they have a cute pool (which I didn't t use but will in the future) BUT I will be back and this is my lil new hidden gem that will be booked for stays like on weekends or nights I wanna go out and it's location is perfect next to park, food, freeway access , convenience stores, downtown, it's just a good feeling that there were rooms filled and good service. The tv was nice and I enjoyed my relaxing stay. Took a hot shower & put the tv on and rested. They do have a microwave and mini fridge for your convenience and the coffee machine as mentioned. Anyway sorry lengthy review but it was a great well needed rest and I am so glad it was there. Thank you.

Great and clean room, staff are real nice and the young lady at the desk was very nice. The breakfast has cereal, toast, bagels, muffins, belvita bisquits, coffee cakes, orange juice and folgers coffee. Walking distance to downtown and newspaper every morning. would stay there again, 5 stars.
