The teachers are incredibly loving and nurturing at Tucson Waldorf. My Grandson came from a well known high academic achieving middle school. He was very unhappy and stressed out . He actually started not liking school. I'm so grateful I was able to get him in to Tucson Waldorf. He loves going to school and is happy there. These teachers genuinely really care about your child's feelings. Tucson Waldorf helps parents raise happy, loving children with high self -esteem.

Waldorf kids are happy. My kids are happy. Being happy builds confidence. Confidence allows people to do well at what they try. Therefore Waldorf is for me. You can frame your kids' standardized test scores on your fridge, I will frame the pictures my kids draw for me on mine. See you at the finish line.

We just visited (no kids there yet), but we were beyond impressed. We aren't using daycare/preschool, so we're considering them for when our girls get to kindergarten age (which will be next fall). They aren't very close to our house but my husband and I both feel strongly about our children' education and the principles that Waldorf is based on all make perfect sense. We don't like the traditional public school experience (especially in current days with the whole Common Core nonsense crap). Waldorf seems like an answer to our prayers. We're still having to talk it over as it is a very real investment in time (due to its distance from our house) and money (we have twins so paying for 2 is not cheap), but right now it's our top contender for education. I only wish it was K-12 instead of only K-8!

We switched our 4th grader from another private school to Waldorf after winter break. The other school was very much what many parents think they are looking for: huge push on academics, test taking, hours of homework, and common core assessments. This may be a perfect fit for some kids, but our granddaughter was so stressed out that she was having physical manifestations such as stomach pain, GERD, heart palpitations, and anxiety attacks. This is a 10-YEAR-OLD! It was hard to find a school that didn't advertise the same focus on academics at the expense of the child's emotional well-being. I was desperate to find an alternative, and Waldorf was an answer to my prayers. My little girl has blossomed, and I am thankful every day for finding this school for her.As far as academics, I was a little worried that she might fall behind without the horrible pushing, but she is right where she should be, and she LIKES school. It's very expensive, I won't sugar-coat that, but for our family, it has been worth every last cent to get back our little girl.

My husband and I decided that we wanted our children to have a childhood. Other schools talked about academics but Waldorf talked about the whole needs of our children. At first I was afraid that my kids would fall behind since other schools really push their students, but they assured me that they teach the love of learning. They believe that learning should not just be a school activity but a life long adventure. Their staff is loving and professional. Many of the graduates go on to University High and Basis and they're not burnt out. I'd highly recommend getting a tour of the school to learn more. Also, they don't label kids. Every day is a new day. My child can now assert himself, children with aggression learn empathy, and both learn to live together peacefully. Our kids love it and the other parents are awesome too. Great community.

We moved to Tucson on a 'trial' basis in October 2014. We enrolled our daughter in the early childhood program and have been thoroughly impressed by the way in which this school has changed our lives. Not only is the pedagogy everything you've ever wanted for your child since it addresses the whole child and provides exactly what she needs when she needs it but also the community is warm and inviting. Who could ask for more than a school that focuses on the love of learning? And, if you are concerned with academics, consider this: "...some of the country's top executives from Google, Apple, Yahoo and Hewlett-Packard send their children to the Waldorf School of the Peninsula..." (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2052977/The-Silicon-Valley-school-tech-honchos-send-kids-DONT-use-computers.html). Needless to say; Tucson and The Tucson Waldorf School are our new permanent home.
