I wanted, and really tried, to rent from these guys, but... . They don't accept phone calls. Worse, they don't let you leave a voicemail and instead insist that you text them. Worse still, they won't tell where they are located on their website, so you can't even drive in and rent your bike. So, my only option was to leave them a text. Which I did. They returned the text ..... six hours later, just in time for sunset. And Tucson purports to be some biking mecca? WTF?

They only reply to text messages, never answer the phone, have a crazy cancellation policy and NEVER PROVIDED any info about how or where to pick up the MTB rentals.I strongly suggest you avoid renting here. Borderline scam. AVOID.

I did not actually rent an e- bike from this place. Tried too, but the website did not work for me and the communication could be much better. You call and get a message to text. That did not help. I don't understand why the person at the other end of the text could not just put in my reservation. I ended up looking elsewhere and found a better bike and deal.

Tucson Bike Rentals has a great business model but they also have some issues. The communications was so poor that grew anxious that our bike rental experience was going to bomb. Most everything is handled online and via text messages. Bikes are accessible from a storage unit near the Tucson Bike Loop (very smart I think). I recommend going to the storage unit before your rental day to get comfortable with the setup. The day of our rental (we rented for two days) we followed the instructions and got to storage unit and met Biker John. He was very busy getting bikes ready for the day but did everything we needed to get on the road quickly. All three bikes were excellent road bikes. We returned them after day one and came back for day two. Our bikes were ready and waiting. Access to the bike loop was quick and easy from our pickup location. I take one star off for poor communications, otherwise we had a great experience.

Read the reviews. And don't even attempt to rent from them. They run a warehouse operation with no physical store. You can't talk to a live person. You have no idea if you're going to get a bike that is your size or the model that you requested. If you ask enough questions, they will get incredibly rude and tell you to go somewhere else Which we did. If you want to rent quality bikes, go to "fair wheels cycle" near the university, they have outstanding, Trek Domane and Emonda . They will physically help you with any adjustments pedal changes saddle changes anything that you will need to ride a couple hundred miles in a few days including Mount Lemmon. I do not suggest you take a crappy bike from "Tucson bike rentals" up mount Lemmon. Your life or comfort will be at risk. Tucson is an epic bucket list destination. Don't cluck it up by trying to rent from a rude, unprofessional vendor.

Stay away from this company. This review is for TusconBicycleRentals.com and TusconBikeRentals.org - same company, different URLS. There is no physical address, everything is done over the phone with picking up bikes in storage lockers. Never got the opportunity to pick up a bike as the website was having "technical " issues but charged my credit card TWICE. They reversed one charge but said we used services for the second charge. We are in arbitration to have this charge taken off.. STAY AWAY

Rent two e bikes for a week. We were not given the opportunity to select our bikes as promised at time of pickup;. The bikes selected for us were not from Trek, Specialized, Cannondale or Giant as advertised. When we got to Death Valley and tried to ride the bikes, we discovered that one of the bikes would not operate- "Error Code 25". We texted the company and were told that it was our responsibility to test the bikes before leaving their storage facilities, even though the company add chosen and set aside the bikes for us. When we returned the bikes at the end of our vacation never having had the use of only one bike, the company's bike mechanic inspected the faulty bike and said " I will have to tear the bike apart to find out what Error Code 25 is".We were refused any refund.Communicating with the company is a nightmare.Avoid Tucson Bike Rentals - they have no concept of good customer service and simply don't care.

We had a very poor experience and this business borders scammy.... there are several URLs for the business, there is no email nor full owner name, everything is done by text, they text you directions ( once you provide your credit card ) to a SELF SERVICE small storage unit with 15 bikes and a self service air pump. Customers cannot try bikes out because it's inside a warehouse thus we weren't aware one of the bikes was not in unreliable, not maintained condition until we were on the bike path. The seats were very hard & uncomfortable and the directions did not specify the warehouse is located adjacent to where you park, we had to figure it out by looking at a picture he texted .Also, they are charging a 10% sales tax ( the sales tax in Tucson is 8.7% ) .They also charged us for full day but we rented for 2 hours. Very poor communication...they really don't want any direct contact with customers. We spent several hours via text again challenging all the above issues. They refunded an appropriate amount after we cited all the issues but the time and hassle dealing with them was not worth it! Take your patronage elsewhere!

The worst experience ever. Do not Rent from them. The bikes are in a storage locker. The pickup location is vague. We had never ridden e-bikes before and there was none to go over the bikes. They only deal by text. The bikes are old. Misleading is kind. The only thing they are good at is taking your money.

Great company. The customer service was excellent, but you have to be comfortable using text/chat to communicate. Every time I opened a chat, I was quickly connected to a person. They answered all questions quickly. Three weeks prior to my trip I sprained my wrist and requested a premium road bike with flat handlebars -- and they had one! Had I not sprained the wrist, I would have gotten a Trek Domane or a Specialized road bike, and I would have been comfortable with either one. Others have commented that the directions to the pickup location are vague -- they only list the name of the storage company and the street name -- for security reasons. Just follow the instructions on the email that arrives the day prior to pick up and you will do fine. I got there before 10 AM and luckily a staffer was there to answer questions. I highly recommend them
