The university of Arizona main library is where I have spent most of my time in college. There are a lot of great nooks and crannies that you can study in! In addition they have a huge amount of resources such as books, maps, computers, 3D printing and other advanced technologies at your disposal. If your in a hurry, you can even check out laptops, tablets, camera's, GoPro's... fit up to 3 days! The library has a mix of compact automatic shelving and traditional stacks for you to search through as well! The Main library is currently under total renovations to brighten up and update the space to make the library experience even better than it already is! I can't wait to see how it turns out!

So forget about reading books. Walk downstairs outside of the library into the Manuel Pacheco Learning Center. Once you get to the little courtyard area, take a right and continue until you reach a set of glass doors. Don't go through the doors. Instead look to your right. You'll see the most average looking water fountain, that is anything but average. This water fountain has been blessed by the Voss gods. Best water you'll ever taste out of a water fountain. You're welcome.

Everything you need in one place, whether you're studying for an exam or writing your thesis, the library can definitely accommodate. I love that it has access to tons of databases, and includes reference managers like refworks. You can fax, print, copy, and even use specialized software like Photoshop or spss depending on your needs or interests. The library staff is always super helpful and very knowledgeable, and if they don't know the answer they'll direct you to someone who does. They let you check out a variety equipment. Finally, my lifesaver is the cellphone charging station. It does get packed during finals, so make sure you reserve a room in advance. During this crazy time, you can expect to see Wilbur the Wildcat stopping by to say hi to students, as well as free coffee breaks and massages.

Overall this is a decently nice library. The common areas are very open and accessible. The building is large and has very many books and other resources available for use. The underground floor level is the coolest by far, there is a huge open commons area full of computers and technology available for use. There are also a bunch of study rooms where you can write on glass walls, it all seems very futuristic. While the place is nice, I am only giving 4 stars because it can sometimes be a little gross. Computers don't seem to be cleaned regularly and the main floor smelled like garbage for a solid month and a half recently. Not a good way to be showing off the university! Otherwise this place is good for studying and has access for community users who don't attend the university.

How can you not give the biggest library in town 5 stars, just for its contents. Staff very helpful, even if they didn't get it right the first time. In this particular instance, I was trying to donate these lovely lithograph (I think they were lithographs) poster sized prints made by the USFS (United States Forest Service) in the mid 1990's of various topics (snakes, insects, leaves, trees, where birds make their homes and lizards) and the front info desk person directed me to the lower level info person, who directed me to special collections, who eventually agreed they were worth keeping for the public so future generation can view them and learn from them. Current generations can also benefit by going to the Special Collections Room and asking to see them or waiting for them to be put on display. It's even possible to order reproductions of them (digital or printed) for personal use on the Special Collections website. It took some time, and talking to a number of people, some who didn't have much of an idea of where to send me, but it all worked out in the end.

A great place to get work done! There's plenty of computers to choose from and tons of resources available. They also had a couple books available that would've otherwise costed me over $100 online. I love coming here even when I don't have any work to do.
