Photo from the back (7th) row... truly not a bad seat anywhere! $47 (11/2024)
Intermission: homemade cookie and mini water bar (11/2024)
Before the beginning of Ms. Julie.
Nothing excites me more than an empty stage just before the play begins.

Love this little theater. They put on 5-6 top notch plays every year and they do it on a modest budget. Tickets are generally $47/seat (2024-25) and all seats are general admission unless you're a subscriber, in which case you get assigned seats. Note 90% of the seats are sold out to subscribers so few remain on wknds for individual purchase. Also ALL the best seats (again 90% of the house) go to subscribers. GA folks get the ends and the back rows only. Arrive 30 min before showtime and you'll get a decent GA seat. But know this too: there are truly no bad seats in this house. The "back row" would be 9th row in any other venue... that's phenomenal. And the stadium rise is steep enough that you'll never be obstructed by the tall person directly in front of you :)Bathrooms are spacious and clean. Parking in their large free lot is a sweet bonus. But the sweetest bonus are the free (donations appreciated) homemade cookies in the lobby at intermission )

This is such a great and intimate theater! It seats maybe 100 people. I've had the opportunity to see several shows here, and the experience has been incredible every single time! The actors are the same, so you get to know them and their different personalities. Season ticket holders get seats in the front with their names on them - such a nice touch! They also do a chat about the performance after it's over. It's very close to the U of A campus, giving it a great location, and it's a cool looking space inside and out. There are fresh baked cookies, and coffee and water for a donation as well. I just enjoy the owners who speak before the performances, and just everything about this place! It's special!

This small theater is one of the joys of Tucson. When in town we always try to get to one of their witty and sophisticated productions. We have been to 6 or 7, and they have never disappointed. The current production , Arcadia ,is outstanding. I wish we could see it again before leaving town. By the way, they always include live music.

This is a great local theatre company located inside the Historic Y in the University West neighborhood just a few blocks off of 4th Avenue. The plays they put on are consistently well chosen and produced. For community theatre in Tucson Arizona there is no place I'd rather go to see a play. Just got done seeing the discount preview of their production of Edward Albee's Three Tall Woman which opens Saturday. One of my favorite things about The Rogue is their play reading series which is really well done and effectively doubles the number of plays they do each season at The Rogue.

Best theatre! Such a sweet, small venue. All seats have great views of the stage which is always creatively designed. The actors are absolutely brilliant! Highly recommend.

On 20 January 2011, after we were seated in the theatre on an advertised "pay what you will" performance evening (the website says, "You may pay the regular price, or more, or less, as you will"), Rogue Theatre Managing Director Cynthia Meier approached us and demanded that we either pay more or leave so that our seats could be sold to someone else who would pay more. When we protested, she said, "I can do whatever I want because this is my theatre."We did not leave, but instead wrote a letter of protest to Norma Davenport, the president of the organization, (sent certified mail) protesting and asking for a apology. As of today, not only have we not received any response but our future reservations have been canceled. This type of discriminatory and offensive treatment is unacceptable for any business, but it is especially odious for a non-profit organization that receives tax-supported contributions / funding. Those people and organizations that are considering supporting this theatre should know of this conduct. Our recommendation is to not provide any further funds to The Rogue Theatre, whether in the form of attendance at shows or contributions.I would add that there are numerous arts groups inTucson that offer "pay what you will." None have ever treated us this way.

I love their choice of plays and their actors! I am a great lover of plays and theaters and often see plays on and off Broadway. This small theater is as great as any other great one in Manhattan or elsewhere in the world. I was so impressed and utterly moved by Angels in America! Keep it up! I always hope that more and more people will hear of them and enjoy their performances. Thank you!
