National was definitely a breath of fresh air on super busy Congress St. in Tucson. With its super towering ceilings, the space is bright, airy, and open. Coming here for a lite bite and to unwind after my daughter and I were in the area visiting the historic Pima County Courthouse was in order. Beyond their design, National has a creative menu- at least from what we saw. My kid decided on the Seasonal Latte with sea salt mesquite caramel+rosemary and liked it. She also went with the 'big bowl' of fries for us to share and I went for the Vegan Whipped "Ricotta"+thyme with spiced agave and toasted sourdough. I honestly missed the 'vg'(vegan) description on the menu- but this sucker- made with cashews, had an incredible texture and was almost identical to a real ricotta dip. My daughter's fries were hard. She and I had a confused look. Now mind you- it's a 'big bowl' of them. Anyhow. There was no hesitation- my kid told our server not to include them in our final bill- and these folks went with it. Maybe it was a bad batch. Whatever it was, National seems like a crowd pleaser and everyone seemed to be having a swell time.

The place is really nice, I know this is a new restaurant and have been wanting to try it out and so glad it was open and available! Had a friend visit from out of town and this had some good food options for our dietary restrictions. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Willing to help out. The food was great. My matcha was strong but good! Thank you so much, can't wait to come back!

This new downtown Tucson restaurant gets 5 stars for being such a breath of fresh air. Everything about the menu and interior design is unique. The atmosphere is so chill and inviting. Service was great, everyone is so nice and welcoming. I had the simple breakfast with 2 eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes. It was very delicious. I also tried the Coke + espresso. It was such an interesting combination where you develop an acquired taste after a few sips. I enjoyed my whole meal and catching up with my friend.

The National is a bright, open, inviting space that was very nice for a laid-back lunch. We were greeted by multiple people on arriving, and the counter service brought our food out very quickly. We got two drinks: the sea salt mesquite caramel and rosemary latte, which was an absolute home run of a latte, and the iced pink pony milk tea, a hibiscus and lemongrass milk tea that was only okay. The pink pony was just way too light on the tea, so it tasted more like vaguely herbal milk than a tea. We also shared both the Crispy Chicken sandwich with fries and the Turkey Club with tater tots. We enjoyed both! Neither was anything earth-shaking or novel, but they were hearty, comfy-feeling meals with good flavor. The fries and tots were both good as well. I'd absolutely get the latte again, and I'd like to try both their pastries as well as more of their menu!

Beautiful coffee shop, breakfast & lunch spot in downtown Tucson. Definitely a more style forward shop, with a bookstore/retail store and a record store all in one. We ordered an espresso tonic, espresso coke & a breakfast burrito. Drinks were great! Food could have used a little more flavor. Service was okay. The girl didn't know a lot of answers to my questions. Could have been a little bit more friendly. I would like to come back to try more options when I'm in the area.

The national is a very large space which is good to avoid a long wait. You order at the counter and they have a lovely display of pastries at the front. The design is very cute inside and seating options are very good from bar seating to larger tables that sit more than four people easily. Let's get down to the food and coffee and the reason I gave 3 stars. Coffee: dairy alternatives are oat and almond, when I picked almond they let me know that their almond doesn't froth well so I opted for oat. The latte was great! Smallish standard size no larger ones available to my knowledge. Food: I have the chilaquiles, when I ordered expected the " how would you like your eggs" and that wasn't asked so I told her " do I get to choose how I like my eggs?" She said they come sunny side up but can put in a request otherwise. I told her sunny side up was fine and sat down. They were supposed to be tossed in a chile verde sauce as well as topped with cilantro crema. It was NOT sunny side up eggs nor did I get the chile verde sauce but only crema and it said it would be served with cilantro and onions and I only saw onions outside of the cilantro crema. Overall I'd just be back for coffee.

I brought my laptop to do some writing and this place provides free wifi. The atmosphere is very cozy and isn't too hipster. The plants are showcased in certain sections which is pleasant. The table are semi rustic and gave a home vibe. The women's restroom has one stall but it was tidy. The service was fast and friendly. They were attendant. I ordered the seasonal latte which was tasty but left more to be desired as far as caffeine contents. I tried the brownie which was moist. It's connected to a book store and it really is a cute vibe. I think it's a great addition to downtown TucsonI will be back to try the burgers.

Great addition to downtown. Service was quick and they checked on us a couple of times. Our favorite was the deconstructed Lox. It was enough for 2. The plain bagel was soft and toasted and there was plenty of cream cheese and lox. The chilaquiles were in a big bowl and spicy. I had the cafe mocha and it was delicious. I enjoyed the bookstore/ gift shop adjoining the restaurant and even purchased a box of notecards. Very modern and bright decor.

Just had a Turkey Club Sandwich from the National it's one of Tucson's newest restaurants and located downtown on Scott Avenue at Congress street. I have to say, I am very happy that this coffee spot open. They serve high quality coffee that is not diluted like cartel and caffeine Luce. The food quality that they serve is also very fresh and good. The workers here are very friendly and they provided good service. This spot also has LA vibe with open space and positive energy. There are lots of big tables that is good for studying, which not a lot of coffee spot in Tucson offer. I recommend this spot to anyone who is a coffee lover
