We had a good experience here on a recent Saturday night outing with friends! The vibe was great and the indoor/outdoor mix made for a really cool atmosphere. The food was all well received, the vegetarian pasta, chicken tenders and fries, pepperoni flatbread and burger were all a hit at our table. The food came out sporadically, we got 2 dishes, then 1 about 5 minutes later and the last probably another 10 minutes later, which made it a little awkward. Not a huge deal, just something to note about timing for a group. We'd love to come back and really enjoyed the atmosphere!

I went to the Monica for brunch with a large group of friends and associates on Saturday. I really loved their presentation, and the bananas foster pancakes were lovely, although a bit more syrup than a small ramekin would have been appreciated. The waitress was attentive, and wonderful. The problem was my husband and I became violently ill with food poisoning. No one else in our group became ill, and we narrowed it down to the squash soup as the only thing we both had that no one else did. It was the only thing we ate, and we ended up needing medical care. I reached out to management, but no one ever got back to me. I've only had food poisoning one other time, and I felt this was a serious issue that needed to be addressed. It was a pricey meal for two, and I'm disappointed no one reached back out.

Fun, trendy restaurant with delicious food and drinks! I love the patio area when the weather cooperates!Order using a QR code at your table, or order at the counter. Favorite dish: City bowl Favorite drink: Secret GardenThe menu is labeled for gluten and vegan options- very helpful and lots of options for either!Great for groups- we have hosted two bookclub meetings here and both time everyone was super accommodating and helpful.

We stopped in prior to an event at the Fox, which essentially is across the street. The restaurant was very busy, but we had no trouble placing our order and finding an indoor table. Our food came out pretty quickly too. I had the salmon citron with mashed potatoes and greens. The salmon was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were good, as were the greens. My partner got the spicy chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and really enjoyed his dish too. The Monica is a fun place to eat or enjoy a beverage. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Televisions have games on for those who are interested, We'll be back when we have another event downtown.

I always see this place in downtown Tucson and decided to give it a shot. I have to say it's alright and here are my reasons why: Burger: I ordered the Impala burger. The burger flavor is great and the meat is juicy. However the bacon is burnt. I never gotten a burnt bacon at a burger spot let alone this spot is supposed to be fancier food spot. I paid $17.95 for the burger with sweet potato fries and my 2 strips of bacons are burnt entirely. I was a bit disappointed Sweet potato fries: I think it's a meh! It's over fried and dried. I don't think I would ordered this anymore I recommend prob getting burger not at this spot

Always a hit, we were happy to find two open seats at the bar at 11a on a Saturday. Service was friendly and accommodating and the food was phenomenal. The characters sitting at the bar always make for an entertaining experience as well

I wanted to like the restaurant based on it being a Si Charro concept, but it was severely lacking in just about everything. First, the ordering - you get in a line passing by salads and soups - nice eye candy, but the menus are at the register. I did review the on-line menu, but the restaurant was out of the dish I wanted. Great.... Nothing like needing to pivot quickly when the queue is long. I went with the spicy chicken sandwich instead - told it was a good choice. Self serve on the drinks, too. The shocker was the price tag. Most everything is self serve, and our bill for a pizza, brussels and carne seca, my chicken sandwich, and a single glass of $10 wine was over $70. What?!!!? Ok. Maybe the food will be good. No. My husband's pizza was the only edible dish (well, except form the glass of Provisioner, which is not a high end wine). The brussels were past hammered. They were past dry. Maybe there was some carne seca, because the entire dish was dry and flavorless. This is listed as a shareable dish, but the bowl is dropped on the table with no side plates. The pizza was delivered at the same time as the brussels, but no word on my dish. Five minutes, then 10 minutes, and then a bartender overheard me questioning when I might get food. She comes back a few minutes with the sandwich and a complimentary piece of peanut butter chocolate tres leches cake, and she explained that they had been waiting for the French fries to be finished, so fries would be delivered later. Ok. The first bite was ok, but then the rest of the chicken breast was dry beyond belief. Forget complaining -- no one comes by to check on the quality of your food. The fries came - they looked like good frites - but, no. Those too were dry and without flavor. There is no salt or pepper on the tables. The complimentary cake was the only food part of my meal. Yippee.I would never recommend this restaurant nor would I ever return. It is this type of experience that gives local restaurants a bad rap and drives people to less expensive chains. The self service concept with sit-down pricing really needs a revision.

We had two unbelievable meals while visiting Tucson. The first was a lunch where we had two amazing sandwiches. Fresh bread, quick service and very delicious sandwiches. Our second was a party of 12 for dinner where we sat outside and again had fabulous service. Our group loved the special cocktail selections on the drink menu and being able to sit outside in December (note - we were visiting from Oregon and Ohio, where it's not so warm this time of year).I highly recommend The Monica. What a great spot!!

Went to the Monica again for a fundraiser, and sadly it was still lackluster. The Margherita pizza was a minimally improved cheese pizza. The basil was almost non existent and there were a few cherry tomatoes on top of shredded mozzarella. The outside patio is nice but needs some misters and fans to help move the air around. Service is non-existent and they have counter style ordering.
