The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Oro Valley

I love coming to the Keg and ordering the salmon it is so delicious and I eat it so quickly! It is pistachio crusted and has a great mix of sweet and salty which is my favorite combination. The potatoes and broccoli also are amazing. I am not a huge fan of vegetables but love the way the broccoli is cooked. The steak is also so amazing here as well and also a must. Whenever I crave a good salmon dish I always think of this place.

My friend has been telling me about the Keg and how much he enjoys the restaurant. He also said he's been there the last few years for Thanksgiving and had a great experience. So he took me to dinner here a couple weeks ago. The décor of the restaurant is nice - it has that upscale but not overly fancy aesthetic. Even though the place was pretty full, we could still hold a conversation because of thoughtful noise absorbing materials and strategic walls and barriers.We started with the crab cakes. They were full of crab, crispy, and served with a lemon sauce. I felt the crab cake it self needed a little salt but when paired with the sauce, it was fine. I ordered the teriyaki sirloin with a twice baked potato and the seasonal veggies. My date got the filet and mashed potatoes. He said the filet was a little lacking compared to previous visits - looked like it maybe wasn't cooked long enough to get a proper crust on the steak. My sirloin was cooked as I requested and was delicious. There was a nice teriyaki flavor, the meat was tender and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The twice baked potato had a fluffy texture and was mixed with some cheese and herbs. The mash has skins and garlic and was also enjoyed. The seasonal veggies were roasted beats and green beans. I wasn't sure if I'd like the beets since I tend to mostly have them in pickled form, not roasted. But we both really enjoyed the veggies, they had a nice bite to them and were seasoned well.We were too full to have dessert there but took a slice of cheesecake to go. It was a large slice and had a great New York style texture. It was rich so definitely enough for two people to share. I'm definitely looking forward to going again and trying another dish.

Went to the keg last night for the very first time. The waitress said they're known for their prime rib. I have to say it was probably one of the most bland, terrible prime ribs I've ever had no smoke flavored no crust . They evidently they didn't have the twice baked potatoes so they brought by prime rib dinner out with french fries that I didn't order and wasn't ask if we wanted to wait my girlfriends ribeye. She did not get the twice baked potato at the time that the served dinner, they brought it out probably 5 to 10 minutes later, I guess this would've been OK if I would've been at Texas roadhouse but this was the keg for the money one of the worst experience of all time I will never go backAnd then the host in the pink jacket not quite sure what his job was other than he kept apologizing for what terrible job the kitchen didn't offer to take anything off the menu no discount not a free drink not a free dessert nothing $207 dinner not impressed for one of the finer places in Oro Valley

Made a reservation inside for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner with my sweet bride. Usually, we sit outside in the courtyard/outdoor patio that offers phenomenal views of the of the Catalinas. While the outside seating is always comfortable and has a great vibe of its own, indoor seating is certainly more formal, but nowhere near stuffy. I would call it a big step above casual but certainly with an eclectic and inviting feel for sure. Indoor seating: 10 stars. Service: 10 starts and this was a no-brainer as Michelle was truly provided all-star service and hustled to make sure we were completely happy. Plus, she never stopped smiling and her friendliness is absolutely contagious. Cuisine: 10 out of 10 stars again, just on the merit of the world-class Crab Cakes alone. Keep in mind we're from the Pacific NW and we know what Crab Cakes should taste like. These were the BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD; light, fresh and fluffy in the inside with perfect taste and texture. The outside was a heavenly created crunch that was delicate and delicious. The manager (Pedro) came by and could see our delight and explained the crab cakes and the tartar sauce is NATUALLY MADE IN HOUSE and is certainly one of their specialties. It's always nice when the manager checks in to make sure we are content; what a great touch. The Caesar salad was fresh, crispy and prepared to perfection as was the baked potato and sautéed mushrooms. The full bar needs no explanation...they have it all. No doubt we will be back very soon!

My wife and I were wondering where to eat tonight and I was thinking....its too bad that the keg totally dropped the ball after our last terrible meal. When I received an email from the manager to reach out to them, I did. I never heard back. So today is yet another lost opportunity for them.

Thod food is quite good,. I loved tge steak the sudes were a but confusions but it was well well the wait. I wouldcome back again no doubt bityh or not. I quite liked it.

The good - the pistachio crusted salmon was excellent as usual as was my daughter's side of Mac and cheese and the twice baked potatoes. However the steaks were each cooked at least one level below what had been requested (manager did offer to take it back and fix). Also we had stated on the reservation it was my daughter's birthday and were asked when we were seated if we were celebrating an occasion and we again said it was her birthday. At previous celebrations there was a free dessert for the birthday person but not tonight - just the bill - so not sure if that's changed.

I have a love/like relationship with The Keg. We love a good steak and have not been disappointed with the steak here. The ambiance is warm and cozy. The lighting is right and it's a bit more upscale, but I see many casual folks here, so no dress code like some places in Phoenix. Service is usually very good. We have had great experiences to a doozy, when a drunk party was celebrating a ladies birthday right across from our table. The gifts with inappropriate as were the conversations. We had brought our children. Long story short, we didn't return for a few years, but have been back several times recently and all has been great.

Been coming here for a dozen years, but oddly enough always for the happy hour, never eaten dinner here. The patio is wonderful, much quieter than the interior. It's heated in the evenings, so you don't have to leave when the sun goes down.We (4 of us) ordered off the happy hour menu last night. Beverages and food were wonderful, but both the drinks and food took forever. They were packed indoors, so I get they were busy.I had the tuna tartare with avocado (pictured) - truly wonderful. The tuna was very fresh and the avocado was delicious. My wife had a prime rib slider which she really enjoyed, and our companions had burgers which they judged excellent.Someday I have to try a steak here....!

The KC New York cut was the actual best steak I've ever had. Service was stellar. Jeff took care of me at the bar and I had a visit from a manager (ray?). Who made me feel beyond welcomed. Great restaurant. I will definitely be back.
