We had our annual family New Years Eve dinner and chose Tavolino Ristorante. We had not sampled the fare here previously, and now we regret that we hadn't. The food and service here is excellent. We had reservations and were seated right away. The restaurant is furnished in a modern fashion and comfortable. We started off with the Calimari, which is lightly breaded and was enough for the four of us. My wife had the Tagliatelle Ala Bolognese, which had the flat pasta and harty meaty sauce. I opted for the Tortelloni Al Pomodoro, which had Tortellini stuffed with spinach, ricotta, garlic & basil, in tomato sauce. We really weren't expecting food of this caliber here and we will certainly be returning to sample more offerings at Tavolino's!

We brought my mom, who is ethnic Italian, here for her milestone birthday. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. The establishment was clean. What made an impression on me was the lady's jacket across from us fell off her chair and onto the floor as the waitstaff walked by easily 20 times before a waiter finally picked it up for her. As I observed the phenomena, the staff who walked by looked down and kept walking around it. Perhaps this was a one-off, but it says something about attention to detail and character. All of us enjoyed our food. My son and I thought the Tajarin al Nero di Seppia(Hand-made squid ink pasta, shrimp, cherry tomato & garlic in a white wine saffron cream sauce). Was exceptional. The Ravioli di Zucca(Homemade butternut squash filled ravioli in a brown butter & sage sauce) was also excellent. My wife also enjoyed the lasagna. At the end of the meal, they brought out a pistachio gelato and cookie for my mom's birthday. Thank you for that act of kindness!

I wanted to share my experience dining at Tavolino on December 29th, when my party of seven celebrated my birthday. Everyone we interacted with was polite, friendly, and welcoming, which created a warm atmosphere. Our waiter, though I can't recall his name, was particularly attentive and made our dining experience pleasant. The food overall was good; however, one of our party members ordered the Bistecca, which unfortunately did not meet expectations. It had to be sent back initially because it was barely lukewarm. When it was served again, it was slightly warmer but still tough and chewy. This was disappointing, especially given the high standards I associate with Tavolino. The most significant issue, however, was the presence of flies in the restaurant. We spent a considerable amount of time swatting them away, even from our food. Not only was this frustrating, but it also felt unsanitary. This was due to the doors to the patio area being left open all evening. While I truly appreciated the kindness of the staff, the issues with the food and the flies detracted from the experience.

We had such a great time last year that we went back to Tavolino for our wedding anniversary this year. We were not disappointed. Our server was Kasen, and he was outstanding. The meal was paced well, the wine was poured correctly, and he was attentive without being overbearing. Excellent, excellent work. Our food was excellent. I had the New York Strip and it was cooked to perfection. Sometimes "medium rare" misses the mark, but not here. The calamari appetizer was great and a very large portion. We had the seasonal vegetables family style, and they were cooked quite well, and seasoned without being too heavy.I saved room for dessert and a glass of prosecco for the end of the night and it was awesome. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Tucson. Well done across the board.

We came here for dinner on Monday night, and I was excited to try some favorite drinks again. The Aviation, Last Word, and Tucson Heat were still delicious. I also tried The Spirit, which was good--not too bitter, though not quite as enjoyable as the other three. The limoncello, on the other hand, was very sweet and not to my taste. The food was a bit of a mixed experience. The beef carpaccio was just okay, while the beet ravioli was delicious, though the chicken we added was dry. The salmon was slightly undercooked in the center, and the flavor was underwhelming, so I wouldn't order it again. One highlight was the pacing of the food. Since we were sharing, they thoughtfully split each entree and brought them out with perfect timing between dishes, giving us a chance to enjoy each one without rushing.

Went for an event and the food was ok not amazing like I hoped but decent. The best dishes we had were the bruschetta, and the dessert. The pizza was ok but the green olives over powered the other flavors. The staff were very good, just wish the food would have been amazing as well. I will give them another try on my own sometime, and of course my taste is not your taste so give them a try for yourself. Always form your own opinion.

The food was great. The cocktails were tasty. The aviator cocktail is definitely a must try if you like sweet and fruity drinks. The red velvet cocktail was tasty, but there was a small fly in it and I had to return it. The service was exceptional. Definitely a high end restaurant in that regard. The music and atmosphere were upscale, yet very relaxing. Great value as well. Way cheaper than Copal. I recommend trying this place. Especially on a date or special occasion.

This place was fantastic. Loved the food and drinks. Their appetizers are the real stars here. The bruschetta burrata e carciofini was incredible. Their meat slicer was having issues so we couldn't add prosciutto but it was still amazing nonetheless. We also had the carciofi alla griglia which was insanely good. That aioli is amazing. I even used it with the homemade complementary bread which, while looking plain and unassuming, was the lightest bread I've ever had. We also had the tavolino lemon drop which was a really nice cocktail. For a salad, we both got the insalata de panzanella which I was really disappointed about. They chop up the tomatoes like salsa. That ruined the salad for me personally. I got the tortelloni al pomodoro and he got the lasagna al forno. Both were mediocre. Everything but the entrees and salad were amazing. The music and service were great and they gave us extra bread to go for free. The cheese was great and they gave it to us in a pre grated bowl. While this place is very expensive, I will be coming back at least for the appetizers.

The food met expectations and in general was good. We had the Calamari which was tender with a nice light breading. It was served with a marinara and aioli. The marinara had a little enjoyable spice to it but the aioli completely lacked flavor. For dinner we had the tortellini and egg plant parmigiana. Both were enjoyable but nothing more than that. What put a bad taste in our mouth was when our server first approached us, we asked if there were any specials to which he simply replied no, just a soup. We thought this was a little odd but went on with ordering. A couple of cocktails with our calamari and a bottle of wine to go with dinner. After we finished, the bill was brought to us and we paid it. As we were leaving, at the hostess stand I noticed a sign that stated specials included half priced bottles of wine. I asked the hostess why our server said there were now specials and why we were charged full price for our bottle of wine. She understandably needed to discuss with the manager. After some activity behind the scene, our server showed up with a simple sorry and updated bill representing the discounted wine. No explanation, no words from the manager, nothing. . . Can't help but feel like the server attempted to "sneak" one by unsuspecting patrons. The fact that management didn't address it makes me feel they're complicit to the actions by the server and seem okay taking advantage of those who are not regulars or familiar with their specials. Aka: a tourist
