Pork katsudon. Looks promising!
Onigiri set. A miso soup coming with it is not in the photo. It's very very delicious too.

Their food is average. I think they put way too much salt into their food, esp rice ball and also the katsu don. It's not bad and convenient asian food. The reason why I give them 3 star it's due to their food too salty

I tried out a katsu curry which cost me $13 and my crony bought a yakisoba and a pork onigri which cost him $19. We both agreed that the food was average and prosaic. There was really nothing special about it. I would also say that their edamame is the worst I've ever had.

I wish I could give neutral stars... I was super excited to try this place out due to all the amazing reviews... Everything has a strong fish flavor, even a noodle dish I ordered for my kid... and my kid wouldn't touch it. It's just kind of overwhelming.... I'm not sure if that is more authentic Japanese, but I wouldn't get it again.... But that's my personal tastes.....Staff was friendly and fun!

We hired the Takoyaki Balls food truck for an event and they did an amazing job!!They arrived early and prepped so that they could start serving food right when our event started. We were able to customize our menu and prepay for everything. They didn't charge us any service or set up fees. Their customer service was outstanding and the food was delicious as always. If you want a food truck that is easy to work with at a reasonable price with superb customer service... you want Takoyaki Balls!!

A few sights from my first #2ndSaturday's experience in #Tucson. I tried #TeriyakiChicken from #TakoyakiBalls food truck it was good it took a few minutes to get my food because of the line but that was ok it was still really good and the people running the truck were nice and as speedy as they can be in a truck.

Katsu was inedible as the meat was too tough. I've never had a katsu don like this. This was multiple meals in our party. Disappointing.

Found this Truck outside of PX at Davis-Monthan, had a nice line which was a good sign. My wife lived in Japan as a child and wanted to try out a couple of dishes especially the dessert. She did the ordering except for the Octopus Balls, so will not attempt to remember names of dishes in fear of mutilating them. They were all delicious, and my wife said it took her back to childhood. The ordering process was easy, the staff was friendly and despite the wait being long it was understood due to crowd of hungry customers. We enjoyed our lunch and wife's trip down memory lane.

Takoyaki Balls is the newest food truck to come to the first Tuesday of the month food truck event in Sahuarita and I am a fan. I have tried their food twice and both times the dishes were flavorful. This was the best curry I have had since living in Oahu and really enjoyed the Katsu curry (deep-fried pork). I also enjoyed the Takoyaki (octopus dumplings). My son really enjoyed the Una Don (eel). I also enjoy ordering from the friendly staff as it gives me an opportunity to practice my Japanese :)

4.5 stars, actually, if it makes a difference to you. And disclaimer: I'm 3rd Generation half Japanese and half Korean, grew up on Mom & Dad's great cooking, lived in Japan for two years on a mission and ate heartily! These are the same folks that serve up their takoyaki balls at the local and Phoenix Japanese Matsuri (Festival), so I already know that their takoyakis are 5 starts. The wife owner gets all of her ingredients from Japan. So, authentic? Hai! They taste great. Well, I'm going to try other items on their menu, but they are really good. Today I had the pork katsudon. I am still on a quest--well, I had given up on the quest--to find a good katsudon in town that is at least as good as mine. I may have found it. This katsudon was authentic with the chopped onions, egg, and pork katsu with the shōyu (soy sauce) based sauce with sugar. I think it could have used a little more of the sauce and a tad more egg. But all in all, it was a pretty good package for $9. You can get chicken katsu instead. Mine is still better. They also have gyudon! One of my favorite dishes. Thinly sliced pieces of beef, marinated in a shōyu, mirin, sugar base and served over rice. So good! I don't think anyone else has that here in town. Maybe Yoshimatsu's, I don't know. For $7, that's a good buy. They also have Japanese curry rice and katsu curry. Gyozas, or pot stickers, it looked like five or six for $6.Follow them on Facebook to find out where they are: https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=takoyaki%20balls5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money.4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business.3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it.2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money.1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

So disappointed. I was looking forward to having takoyaki...but was not expecting "takoYUCKY." These were not fresh and were nothing more than cold balls of fishy dough...not at all what takoyaki should be. Do yourself a favor and avoid these. If you have never had them, you have a bad first experiece...if you've had them, you will be wholly disappointed.
