Lovely space. How wonderful to have a major university dedicate a well-designed building to quality dance.
Came for the open rehersal of Goliath fro Artifact Dance Project.

Of course, the number of stars has to reflect the performance not just the facility. Tonight we were wowed by Artifact Dance Company. Not only the choreography and dancing but the live music and the conceptualizations. Even without that bravura performance, I would give this facility high marks. Not only is the stage and orchestra pit more than generous but also the sight lines and acoustics are excellent. The seating is much more comfortable than most university theaters or in fact privately owned ones. My only slight quibble is I wish parking were a bit closer. Still, the garage prices are reasonable and well this was just a stellar evening.

I have had season tickets for the student shows for the last 2 or 3 years, and their performances are amazing. I never have really thought of myself as a dance person until I went on a tour of the space with the architect and the head of the dance department. The facility is beautiful and inspiring in its design and there are no bad seats. Last night I went to the student spotlight, some of it was completely choreographed by the students in order to graduate. These students have it all it kept my interest the whole time. The sad thing is %80 of the audience has one or two feet in the grave.
